Yes—DAAD’s EPOS programme lists a monthly stipend of €992 for graduates studying on an eligible postgraduate course in Germany. It is not a scholarship for any German degree: applicants need relevant professional experience, and they must apply directly to a course on DAAD’s EPOS list. Doctoral candidates have a separate stipend rate.
What the €992 stipend covers—and who receives it
DAAD lists €992 per month for graduates in its 2026 call information. Doctoral candidates are listed separately at €1,300 per month, with the doctoral rate scheduled to rise to €1,400 from February 2026. The graduate rate does not apply to every EPOS recipient regardless of degree level.

Funding is for individual scholarships on postgraduate courses in Germany included in the EPOS course list. Depending on the course, the funding period is 12 to 42 months. DAAD also lists payments toward health, accident and personal-liability insurance, plus a travel allowance unless another source covers travel costs. Rent and accompanying-family allowances may be available in certain circumstances; they are not automatic. These benefits do not establish that the stipend will cover every student’s living costs. See DAAD’s EPOS scholarship database for the programme details.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- A related bachelor’s degree with above-average results, normally in the upper third of the graduating class.

- A degree that is normally no more than six years old.

Applicants who have been resident in Germany for more than 15 months by the application deadline cannot be considered. Meeting the typical profile does not guarantee selection. DAAD also considers academic suitability and the likelihood of completing the course, language skills, relevant work experience and development-related motivation. It expects scholarship holders to take social responsibility and use their training to support change in their professional or personal environment.
Find an eligible course before preparing an application
Start with the EPOS course list, not a general search for German master’s or doctoral degrees. DAAD’s database links courses and deadlines for 2027/2028, but each course sets its own application deadline and may impose additional conditions or request extra documents. Compare courses by subject and development relevance, degree level, duration, language of instruction, accepted language evidence, deadline and required materials.

How to apply
- Choose up to three EPOS courses. Check that each course appears on DAAD’s list and that you meet its requirements. If you apply to more than one, rank your choices in priority order and keep that order consistent throughout your applications.
- Follow each course’s application procedure and deadline. Send the complete application directly to the selected course. DAAD’s official instructions state: “Applications have only to be sent to the respective course directly!” Applications sent to DAAD will not be forwarded to the university or course. See DAAD’s EPOS application instructions.
- Prepare the required documents. The listed materials include a signed checklist and EPOS application form; a reverse-chronological CV with no unexplained gaps; a motivation letter; a current employer recommendation on official letterhead with signature and stamp; employment certificates demonstrating at least two years of relevant work after the bachelor’s degree; recent language proof; degree certificates; and full transcripts. Documents may need translation. Applications must be complete and in English or German. Applicants from the People’s Republic of China are asked for an APS certificate. Check the chosen course’s instructions for additional documents.
- Wait for the course-level selection stage. The course’s selection committee suggests candidates for a DAAD scholarship. Suggested candidates are then contacted to upload a full application to the DAAD portal, after which DAAD makes the final selection.
Check the language rules for your course
German-taught courses
The scholarship includes a six-month preparatory German course, but it does not replace the entry-level language requirement: applicants need at least B1 German when they apply. Before starting the degree, they must pass DSH 2 or TestDaF 4.
English-taught courses
The individual course sets its English-language requirements. DAAD’s checklist gives IELTS and TOEFL as examples of recent English-language proof, but applicants should confirm which tests and scores their chosen course accepts before booking a test.
