Promote Super Chats on a 24/7 YouTube stream with a short pinned reminder in Live Chat, then check fan-funding activity and acknowledge contributions when practical. The reminder stays in chat instead of covering the video. YouTube does not document an automatic recurring Super Chat prompt for continuous streams, so use a simple human-run routine.
What Super Chat does—and what it does not do
Super Chat and Super Stickers are paid messages or stickers designed to stand out in live chat. They are available on eligible live streams and Premieres when live chat is turned on; check your channel and stream in YouTube Studio for availability. They are chat features, not controls that interrupt or change video playback. YouTube’s Super Chat help page covers availability and management.
A pinned reminder is also a chat message, not an overlay on the video. YouTube’s help page says, “Pinned messages are shown below Super Chat.” Only one message can be pinned at a time, and pinning another replaces the current one. YouTube’s Live Chat instructions explain pinning.
Set up a clear, low-pressure reminder
- Confirm eligibility and live chat. In YouTube Studio, check whether Super Chat is available for your channel and ensure live chat is enabled for the stream. Availability depends on both. See YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers guidance.
- Open the stream’s Live Chat as its creator. Post a brief message explaining that Super Chat is an optional way to support the stream.
- Pin the message. Use the message’s menu to pin it. Only one message can be pinned at a time; pin another whenever you want to replace it.
- Keep the invitation welcoming. For example: “Enjoying the stream? Super Chat is available in live chat if you’d like to support us. Regular chat is welcome too.” Do not imply that a payment guarantees a response or changes the stream unless that is genuinely your established practice.
Monitor Super Chats during a continuous stream
YouTube documents ways for creators to review Super Chat activity in Live Control Room, the YouTube mobile app, or the website. You can filter your chat view to fan-funding items and switch back to all messages. Check at intervals that make sense for your audience and staffing; the platform documents the filter, not a required checking schedule or guaranteed response time. When practical, acknowledge contributions in a way that fits the stream. A continuous prerecorded loop may not have a host speaking live, so do not promise personal recognition if nobody is monitoring chat. Make the expectation clear in the pinned message or channel description.
Make chat usable and moderate it
A 24/7 stream can attract messages at any hour. Decide who will review chat, when coverage is available, and how to handle unsuitable messages. YouTube provides tools to hold potentially inappropriate messages and manage live chat, but it does not require one staffing arrangement for every channel. Do not treat deletion as a way to reverse a payment: YouTube says deleting a Super Chat message after the stream does not result in a refund. If you need to manage a message, follow YouTube’s moderation guidance rather than making refund promises.
Consider where viewers are watching
Live Chat is available on YouTube watch pages, not in embedded players. Someone watching an embed may need to open the video on YouTube to participate. If you promote Super Chat elsewhere, make that step clear. See YouTube’s live-stream participation information.

Choose a reminder method that fits the stream

Troubleshoot common problems
- Super Chat is not available: Check eligibility for the specific channel and stream in YouTube Studio, and confirm live chat is enabled. Availability is conditional, not universal. YouTube’s feature guidance.
- The reminder is no longer pinned: Another pinned message may have replaced it. YouTube permits one pinned message at a time; pin the intended reminder again if appropriate. Pinning instructions.
- Viewers watching an embed cannot find chat: Direct them to open the stream on its YouTube watch page, where Live Chat is available. YouTube’s live-stream information.
- You are missing contributions in a busy chat: Use the creator-side fan-funding filter in Live Control Room, the YouTube mobile app, or the website, then return to all messages when needed. YouTube’s Super Chat guidance.
- An overlay affects the stream: Remove or disable it and test the setup before trying again. YouTube’s cited help pages do not guarantee that external overlays leave playback unaffected.
