Promote gifted memberships on a looping YouTube livestream by putting your channel’s Join and gift-opt-in links in persistent places, then using short live-chat reminders to explain how eligibility works. Viewers must opt in and subscribe to your channel to be eligible; opting in does not guarantee they will receive a gift.
Set up the links viewers need
Link directly to your membership offer
Add /join to your channel URL and share that link in the stream description, video descriptions, community posts, cards, end screens, and other channel or social content. YouTube says the link takes viewers directly to the channel’s membership window. If someone cannot find Join, point them to the channel homepage or the /join link. YouTube’s membership help lists possible reasons Join may not appear, including memberships being off, location availability, Made for Kids status, and watch-page or platform limitations.
Share the gift opt-in link
Give viewers the channel-specific allow-gifts URL in the stream description or another persistent channel surface. YouTube provides URL formats based on a channel’s external ID or channel name. Explain that viewers need to opt in and subscribe to your channel to become eligible for gifted memberships; eligibility is not a promise that a particular viewer will be selected. Explain the offer before asking viewers to opt in
Use a clear membership introduction
Use YouTube’s membership intro video to explain what the membership includes and what its perks are. Keep the explanation accurate and avoid quoting tier prices in a way that assumes they are identical across platforms and countries or regions. YouTube says the intro video must follow Community Guidelines and must not have third-party copyright or music claims. Review the requirements in YouTube’s channel memberships guidance.

Describe gifted access accurately
A gifted membership gives the recipient access to membership perks for up to one month. YouTube says gifts are non-recurring: recipients are not charged when the gifted period ends. A gift announcement appears in live chat with a countdown ticker for a limited time, and its duration depends on the purchase amount. If chat or the stream ends before the announcement appears, YouTube says the gift is still distributed. These details are covered in YouTube’s viewer help for gift memberships.
Use a repeatable promotion plan for a loop
- Before the stream: Put the
/joinlink, the allow-gifts URL, and a concise explanation of the perks and opt-in requirement in the stream description. - During the stream: Post brief, occasional live-chat reminders. State what members receive, that viewers must opt in and subscribe to be eligible for gifts, and where to find Join or the allow-gifts control.
- Keep reminders useful: Vary or space them so they remain readable rather than filling chat with repeated promotional text. Make the destination obvious and avoid suggesting that opting in guarantees a gift.
- Check channel and format eligibility: Confirm that memberships and gifting are enabled for the channel and check the actual stream surface. YouTube lists gifted memberships for horizontal streams and the vertical live feed, subject to feature availability and eligibility. YouTube’s eligibility information does not establish that every channel or format will show the same controls.
This is a practical way to apply YouTube’s general membership-promotion guidance to a loop, not a guarantee about how a particular loop behaves. YouTube’s published help does not specify special rules for prerecorded continuous loops or automated restarts. Verify the Join and gift controls on the actual channel and stream rather than promising viewers that every restart or viewing surface will display them.
