Saint Mihai’s sword, Kingslayer, and Hand of Fate are the main late-game weapon goals identified in the available guide—but their routes and effects are reported by an unofficial fan source, not confirmed by the publisher. The most practical approach is to pursue Saint Mihai’s sword if you want a long upgrade project, consider Kingslayer only if you are following its reported ending route, and save time for the Court activity associated with Hand of Fate. Treat those as leads rather than a verified ranking: no official weapon stats or current-patch comparison is available.
How weapons fit the combat system
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, Coen is human by day and a vampire by night. The publisher describes directional sword attacks, blocks, and parries as ways to build Activation Charges, which can be spent on active abilities. Human and vampire forms have distinct ability trees, so a weapon’s reported suitability for a particular time of day can matter to a build—but the general combat system does not establish any specific weapon bonus.

The publisher also describes a 30-day in-game deadline to prevent Coen’s family from being executed. Time advances for certain goals, including quests and changing between day and night. That creates a real scheduling trade-off when pursuing optional content, but it is not evidence that any particular weapon disappears after 30 days. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s gameplay recap explaining these systems is dated June 23, 2025, before launch.
Late-game weapons and their reported routes
The following route details come from The Dawnwalker Wiki, an unofficial fan guide updated September 21, 2026. The publisher’s available material establishes the game’s combat design, but does not confirm these weapon names, acquisition steps, bonuses, or current-build behavior.
#1 Best Overall
- Day 1 Edition includes the Base Game Disc, Steelbook, and World Map.
- Make The Story Your Own - Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.
- Day And Night - Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.
- Every Action Matters - Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.
| Weapon | Reported route or requirement | Reported role or caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Inbued Sword of St. Mihai | The guide associates it with the “A Monk and a Saint” quest and says it takes eight fragments to assemble or upgrade. | The guide presents the fully upgraded sword as a top-tier night-set option. No official stats or independent comparison are established. |
| Kingslayer | The guide ties it to Brencis’s route and the Turncoat ending path. | Described by the guide as an anti-boss option. Its reported ending condition makes this a route commitment, not a general-purpose pickup. |
| Hand of Fate | The guide associates it with a late-game reward from a Court activity. | A late-game legendary according to the guide; further weapon-specific comparative data is not established here. |
These are guide-reported details, not a verified tier list. The fan guide also names Durandel, Gladius, Uriashi Hermit swords, The Prizewinner, The Purge, and The Runner-up among its nine legendary weapons, but the available evidence does not support a numerical comparison among them.
Which route should you prioritize?
Choose Saint Mihai’s sword for a longer upgrade goal
If you want a weapon project that can develop over time, the fan guide’s reported route is “A Monk and a Saint,” followed by collecting eight fragments. The same guide recommends moving from Durandel to Saint Mihai’s sword for the southern Vale and Svartrau endgame, and describes the completed sword as suited to a night set. It does not provide a reproducible damage comparison, so treat that recommendation as route advice rather than proof that the sword is universally best.

- BECOME THE DAWNWALKER — Play as Coen, a man transformed into a Dawnwalker who walks the line between humanity and vampiric power as he fights to save those he loves.
- SHAPE YOUR OWN DESTINY — Make meaningful choices that determine alliances, revenge, family loyalties, and the fate of the valley through a branching narrative RPG experience.
- DAY AND NIGHT GAMEPLAY — Master two distinct gameplay styles with different abilities, opportunities, mysteries, and approaches that change depending on the time of day.
- SWORD CLAWS AND DARK POWERS — Wield weapons and magic as a human by day or unleash supernatural vampire abilities, enhanced mobility, and devastating combat skills by night.
- A WORLD WHERE TIME MATTERS — Every quest advances time and brings your family closer to their fate, forcing difficult decisions about who to save and what to sacrifice.
Choose Kingslayer only if its ending route fits your plans
The guide reports that Kingslayer is tied to Brencis and the Turncoat ending path. Because that is a consequential route condition, do not divert your story choices solely for an assumed weapon advantage: the anti-boss description is also the guide’s claim, not a publisher-confirmed effect. If you are trying to avoid spoilers, stop at this point and decide whether you want ending-route information before continuing.

Keep time available for Hand of Fate
Hand of Fate is reported as a reward from a Court activity late in the game. The source does not establish a specific deadline for that activity or confirm whether it can be missed. Since quests and day-night transitions can advance the overall clock, consider your remaining time before taking optional detours; do not infer that a particular activity has a hidden expiry without in-game evidence.

How to use this guide without overcommitting
- Pick the kind of route you want. The reported options differ most clearly by commitment: an eight-fragment upgrade path for Saint Mihai’s sword, an ending-specific path for Kingslayer, or a Court activity for Hand of Fate.
- Check your in-game quest log and map. The fan guide supplies quest and activity leads, but its information is not an official walkthrough. Use the active objectives and any choice warnings shown in your build as the final authority.
- Track the clock before optional content. The publisher says certain goals consume time, but does not tie the 30-day deadline to any one weapon. Balance side activities against your main objective rather than assuming every route is time-safe.
- Test the weapon in your own build. The official combat description supports the importance of directional attacks, blocks, parries, Activation Charges, and distinct human and vampire trees. It does not substantiate weapon-specific damage or bonuses, so judge practical value in play rather than relying on an unverified ranking.
What is—and is not—confirmed
The official publisher’s gameplay material explains the day/night combat framework and time pressure, but does not publish the named weapons’ stats or acquisition routes in the sources available here. The September 21, 2026 fan guide is the source for the shard count, quest leads, Court reward, and ending condition. No numeric DPS table, controlled comparison, or current-patch validation supports a definitive “best weapon” claim.
