Choose prices around value and delivery, not perk count
There is no universally optimal price for a 24/7 livestream’s memberships. The right ladder depends on where your viewers live, what they can afford, what they want from the channel, and the time and cost required to fulfill each promise. YouTube’s guidance is to consider both the value viewers see in a perk and the effort it takes to deliver it.

How many membership levels should you create?
YouTube recommends beginning with one to three price levels. You can create up to six, but that is a platform limit, not a target. A shorter ladder makes the choices easier to understand and reduces the number of recurring promises to manage.

Each higher-priced level includes the perks from lower levels. Make the added value at each step distinct; do not charge more merely to repeat the same offer. YouTube permits one to five perks per level and reviews proposed levels and perks before publication.
A practical tier structure for a continuous stream

How to decide whether a higher tier earns its price
Before publishing the Join description, assess each proposed level against the same practical questions:

- Audience value: Does it provide support, recognition, participation, exclusivity, or access that your viewers actually want?
- Delivery burden: How much recurring time, moderation, production expense, and schedule reliability does it require?
- Scalability: Can you provide it to many members without labor rising one-for-one with membership?
- Incremental value: What does this level add beyond the perks it inherits from lower levels?
- Geographic accessibility: How will its listed price appear to members in the countries and regions your audience comes from?
- Observed performance: Once live, what do joins and retention by level show, and how does that compare with direct member feedback?
If the added work or cost outweighs the value members are likely to perceive, simplify the perk or leave it out. Some viewers may join primarily to support a channel without expecting substantial benefits; make that option easy to understand.

How to test and revise your tier ladder
- Ask before building: Use a community post or poll to learn whether viewers care most about supporting the stream, recognition, participation, or exclusive content.
- Publish a small, clear offer: Start with one to three levels and describe exactly what each includes and when any scheduled benefit is delivered.
- Review actual results: Check membership acquisition, membership by level, and retention in YouTube Studio. Compare those patterns with member feedback rather than relying on an assumed conversion benchmark.
- Adjust deliberately: Keep the structure that members use and you can sustain; change perks or add a level only when feedback and performance give you a reason.
YouTube says price levels for new members may be adjusted once every 12 months after the last update; existing members remain at the price at which they signed up. Because platform settings can change, confirm the current rule in Studio before planning a price change.
How much does each level cost?
Choose a price that fits your audience and the value and cost of the benefit; the available guidance does not establish a universal ideal amount or revenue expectation for a 24/7 channel. YouTube membership prices can vary by country or region, so confirm the prices offered to your audience in Studio rather than assuming one displayed amount applies worldwide. YouTube’s UK price table is one regional example and notes that pricing updates began rolling out in May 2025.
