There is no documented YouTube Live setting that blocks the same prerecorded episode from playing twice in a row. Find out where the sequence is coming from: edit a regular YouTube playlist, or fix the playlist or next-item logic in the encoder producing the live feed.
First, identify what is repeating
A YouTube playlist watched in YouTube’s player is different from a live broadcast sent by OBS or another encoder. In the first case, YouTube plays the playlist. In the second, the encoder or playback automation chooses the video and sends it to YouTube. The fix belongs in the system making that choice.
- Playlist playback: the episodes play from a playlist in YouTube’s player.
- Encoder-driven live feed: an encoder plays prerecorded files or a browser-based sequence and sends the resulting video to a YouTube broadcast.
YouTube’s published live-stream settings cover broadcast setup and encoder controls, but do not document an adjacent-repeat prevention setting. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
If the episodes play from a YouTube playlist
- Open the playlist in YouTube Studio and inspect its videos and order. Remove an episode if it appears twice next to itself.
- Reorder the entries if the sequence is wrong. YouTube Help documents editing playlists and changing their order; it does not document an automatic check that prevents adjacent duplicates. Manage playlists in YouTube Studio
- If you are watching the playlist in YouTube, check whether playlist looping is enabled. Looping repeats the playlist; it is not an anti-repeat rule, and it does not guarantee a different first episode at the boundary between cycles. Loop videos or playlists on YouTube
Shuffle can change playback order, but it is not a guarantee that an episode will not repeat next or at a loop boundary.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If an encoder is sending the live feed
Inspect the actual media source and queue feeding the broadcast, rather than changing YouTube’s event metadata. YouTube distinguishes a broadcast (the event) from a stream (the video and audio sent to it); changing broadcast details does not, by itself, change the encoder’s episode sequence. Review the playlist and transition settings
- In the encoder, identify the source that plays the cartoon episodes and inspect its playlist or file queue. Confirm whether the same file or episode ID occurs in adjacent positions.
- Check what the source does when it reaches the end of its list. A looping playlist can repeat its final item as the first item of the next pass if the list or transition logic allows it.
- Remove adjacent duplicate entries, then preview the end-to-start transition as well as transitions within the list.
A third-party OBS guide describes using a VLC Video Source with local videos and playlist looping. Treat that as an example of an OBS workflow, not a YouTube feature or a guarantee that a particular source setting will prevent repeats. iTechGuides: How to Loop a Lecture Playlist 24/7 on YouTube with OBS

Make automated selection deterministic
If your automation chooses the next episode, keep the last-played episode ID or filename and exclude it from the next choice. This directly prevents adjacent repeats when there is another eligible episode. Ordinary random shuffle can select the same episode twice, so inspect its output and the cycle boundary instead of assuming it guarantees a different next item.

Verify the sequence before going live
- Preview the outgoing sequence, including the transition from the last episode back to the first.
- Check the first transition after starting the live feed; that is where a loop-boundary duplicate can appear.
- If a duplicate returns, compare the actual outgoing filenames or episode IDs with the queue you expected. This helps distinguish a repeated playlist entry from a selection or transition rule that is choosing the same item again.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. For a cartoon sequence, make sure the playlist or uploaded sequence itself has the order and repeat logic you want; a cloud host does not remove duplicates from your content automatically.
- Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
- Videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required.
- Monthly pricing: $9.99 per month.
