Start with confirmed quest access and published skill requirements—not guesses. For the clearest checklist, train Agility to 58, Thieving to 54 and Strength to 46, then complete Land of the Goblins for the proposed quest The Chosen Commander. For the proposed Menaphos storyline, complete Beneath Cursed Sands. Other upcoming content has partial or undisclosed requirements, so treat announced numbers as proposals and check the live quest journal when each quest launches.

Prioritize the preparation with confirmed prerequisites

Upcoming content Useful preparation What the requirement means Status
The Chosen Commander 58 Agility, 54 Thieving, 46 Strength; complete Land of the Goblins. Jagex recommends Combat level 80 or higher. The skills and quest completion are proposed requirements. Combat 80 is a recommendation, not a stated hard prerequisite. Proposed in Jagex’s RuneFest 2026 overview, 3 October 2026. Official overview.
Menaphos storyline Complete Beneath Cursed Sands. Proposed access to Menaphos follows this quest. The proposed Master-level quest Fool’s Gold would unlock more of the city. Proposed in Jagex’s RuneFest 2026 overview, 3 October 2026. Official overview.
Crab Quest Plan for 40 Sailing and 30 Fishing. These are proposed skill requirements, not confirmed live requirements. Jagex’s proposal was published 12 August 2026; check the in-game quest journal at release. Official blog.
The Graveyard and related Agility activity Prioritize the Fremennik questline. The activity was described with an Agility target range of 65–80. The range describes the associated activity, not a confirmed quest entry requirement. The Graveyard was planned for November after passing the Campfire poll; the activity target appeared in the poll, 29 May–5 June 2026. Quest Month announcement; Campfire poll.
Fairytale III – Nexus of Power No numeric checklist has been published. Keep progressing through the relevant questline rather than training to guessed levels. Proposed as a Master-tier finale; exact numeric requirements are not stated in Jagex’s overview. Proposed for 2027 if polled through. Official overview.
Dungeons of Gielinor Do not set a level target from the announcement alone. Only broad expected requirement categories were given; a numeric checklist is not stated. See Jagex’s RuneFest 2026 overview. Official overview.

Build the account in a practical order

  1. Finish named quest prerequisites. Complete Land of the Goblins for The Chosen Commander preparation and Beneath Cursed Sands for proposed Menaphos access. If you want the Fremennik sequel, advance the Fremennik questline.
  2. Train only to published targets. For The Chosen Commander, work toward 58 Agility, 54 Thieving and 46 Strength. Treat Combat level 80 as Jagex’s recommendation for readiness, not as a hard gate. For Crab Quest, 40 Sailing and 30 Fishing are proposal figures to verify in game at release.
  3. Keep flexible goals flexible. The Graveyard’s related activity target of 65–80 Agility is not proof that the quest itself requires that level. No numeric requirements are stated for Fairytale III or Dungeons of Gielinor in the cited overview.
  4. Use the in-game quest tools when content arrives. Consult the quest list and Activity Advisor for current access requirements and available recommendations; the live journal is the appropriate place to verify proposal figures against released content.

Do not grind for undisclosed surprise quests

Jagex’s 3 October 2026 Quest Month announcement proposed at least five additional surprise quests for November, with one or more planned each week. Their details were to remain secret until release, and the proposed difficulty ceiling was Experienced. That is not enough information to infer specific questline or skill requirements, so avoid training toward guessed levels. Jagex also said notable rewards might be polled separately. Read the announcement.

Quest tracking changes were proposals, not a preparation requirement

The same Quest Month post proposed a better beginner quest order, a matching Activity Advisor, and settings to pin in-progress quests and move completed ones lower in the list. It also proposed XP rewards for a list of quests. Jagex said the settings would be enabled by default, but described this package as proposed changes; it is not an account prerequisite for upcoming content. See the proposed interface and XP changes.
