For reliable xTool O1 Omni Dual UV prints, prepare the artwork in xTool Studio, identify the object’s exact material and finish, clean the print area, and use the matching primer when xTool calls for one. Let cleaning solvent and primer dry before printing. For transparent objects, add a white ink base; after a direct print, leave it at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before scratching or washing it.
Confirm the printer edition and print route
The O1 Omni is documented in three printhead configurations: Single UV, Dual UV, and UV & DT. Dual UV supports rigid and flexible materials, including acrylic, leather, wood, and canvas. Single UV is listed for rigid materials, while UV & DT combines a UV head with a fabric-printing head. The manual lists a printer resolution of 720×1440 dpi; that is a machine specification, not a required artwork-file resolution. Check the O1 Omni manual and specifications and O1 Omni materials guide for the current edition-specific compatibility details.

Direct UV printing
Direct UV printing places ink on the object and cures it during printing. It avoids the transfer-film application step when the object’s material, finish, and shape are suitable.

UV DTF transfers
UV DTF prints the design onto transfer film, laminates it, and applies it to a compatible hard surface like a decal. xTool’s workflow uses A and B films together and a laminator. The guide favors UV DTF over rotary direct printing for handled items, complex curves, or large height changes. See the O1 Omni UV DTF guide for its process and mode-specific settings.

Fabric is not one universal workflow
The materials guide maps direct fabric printing to the UV & DT edition and excludes fabric from the Single UV and Dual UV direct-print matrix. Dual UV does support certain flexible materials such as leather and canvas, but that does not establish suitability for wearable apparel; use a fabric-printing workflow intended for apparel instead.
Prepare artwork in xTool Studio
xTool Studio’s support guidance lists these import formats:

- 【Compatible with xTool Omni O1】Designed for the specified UV printer setup and intended to work with the corresponding small plate configuration.
- 【Small-Size Version】Sized specifically as the smaller version for the Small Plate, providing a positioning surface suited to the corresponding work area.
- 【Single-Tray Design】Uses a dedicated tray-style format that provides a base for arranging workpieces and positioning components.
- 【Grid Positioning Surface】The structured grid offers multiple placement points for arranging compatible stops and holders according to the workpiece.
- 【Adjustable Workpiece Layout】Positioning components can be relocated across the grid to create different arrangements for individual project requirements.
- Project files: XCS, PSD, PDF
- Vector: DXF, SVG
- Images: PNG, JPG, JPEG, BMP, WEBP, TIF, TIFF, GIF
Studio v1.7 and later saves new projects in the .xs format; opening .xs files requires v1.7 or later. PNG files imported into Studio are processed as bitmaps. Consult the xTool Studio import and file support guidance if a file does not open as expected.
The documented export types are PNG, JPG, and SVG. PNG and JPG are raster image exports; JPG uses a white background, so it does not preserve transparent pixels. Choose PNG when transparency matters, or SVG when you need a vector export and the workflow supports it. For texture or relief work, xTool’s acrylic-board tutorial calls for an .xs processing file and Studio; follow the settings shown for that mode rather than assuming flat printing, relief, and UV DTF share identical artwork parameters.

The cited documentation does not establish a universal minimum pixel dimension, color profile, or DPI for every O1 Dual UV job. Do not use the printer’s 720×1440 dpi specification as an artwork-resolution requirement.

| Substrate or finish | Preparation guidance |
|---|---|
| Glass, glossy or glazed ceramic, crystal | Use glass and ceramic primer. |
| Aluminum, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, iron, copper, zinc alloy | Use metal primer. |
| Acrylic and glossy ABS | Use acrylic primer. |
| Solid wood, bamboo, paper, leather, canvas/cotton/linen, matte ceramic | Clean and print directly; the guide specifies no primer. |
| Silicone, soft TPU/TPE, non-stick coatings, spray-painted surfaces, some special coatings | A dedicated primer may be needed. |
| Spray-coated, plated, baked-finish parts, composites, or other uncertain surfaces | Test a small batch first. |
Drinkware primer should match the body material. A result on one brand or finish does not establish compatibility for every similar item; coatings and surface treatments can change adhesion. Check the O1 Omni primer guide and the O1 Omni materials compatibility matrix for the specific surface and printer edition.

Follow a clean, dry, even preparation sequence
- Clean the print area. Wipe in one direction with an alcohol-dampened lint-free cloth to remove grease, fingerprints, or anti-rust oil. Wait until the alcohol has fully evaporated.
- Protect the surface from finger oils. Use gloves while handling the prepared area. xTool’s UV ink handling guidance calls for rubber or plastic gloves and safety goggles when handling ink; follow the instructions for the exact ink and primer.
- Apply only the matching primer. Where the guide calls for a primer wipe, handle it with tweezers. Apply a thin, even coat extending 1–2 mm beyond the artwork area; avoid flooding or streaking.
- Let the primer dry. Wait until the surface is dry and no longer tacky. xTool advises printing as soon as possible after application.
- Position and align the object. Set it steadily on the print station, complete height measurement and design alignment, and select the material-appropriate print mode.
- Set a white base when needed. Transparent substrates need a white ink base; xTool warns that without it a print can appear gray. White ink can also help a design read on dark or colored material.
- Rest the finished direct print. Leave it at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before scratching or washing.
xTool’s troubleshooting guide associates a print peeling completely with missing or incorrect primer or inadequate cleaning; lifted edges with too little primed margin; and a whitish haze with excess primer, printing before the primer is dry, or high humidity. These are troubleshooting explanations, not an exhaustive diagnosis for every surface failure. See the primer application and troubleshooting guidance.

Use UV DTF when the object shape favors a transfer
For a hard surface that is difficult to print directly, UV DTF can put the design on film first. xTool’s documented workflow uses A and B films as a pair and a laminator to bond them. Its broad sequence is:
- Prepare artwork, choose Flat mode, and set the parameters for the transfer workflow.
- Load A film with its adhesive side facing up, scan, and print.
- Laminate film A with film B, then cut and apply the decal.
- Clean the receiving surface and squeegee from the center outward.
- Peel the carrier slowly at a low angle.
For transparent objects, the guide recommends Color + White + Color ink mode so the design can read from either side. Varnish layers may add gloss or scratch resistance but increase print time. These settings belong to the UV DTF process and should not be assumed to apply to direct UV printing.
Observe food-contact and ink-handling limits
xTool says UV-printed areas are not intended for direct contact with food or beverages. Keep drinkware print areas away from surfaces that contact food or drink. Use protective gloves and safety goggles when handling UV ink, and follow the safety instructions for the exact printer, ink, primer, and accessory. See the O1 Omni FAQ and product guidance and UV ink handling guidance.
