What you can pre-order in Australia
The launch information currently covers two consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC launch version has been announced in the cited launch information, and the PlayStation listing says the game is not playable on PS4. A later PC release is neither confirmed nor ruled out by these details.
There are two editions, Standard and Ultimate. You can buy either digitally from the Australian PlayStation or Xbox storefronts. Retail listings described as “physical” are boxed download-code products: Rockstar states that “A disc will not be included in the box.” The code downloads the game to the console and is intended for one account in the appropriate region.

The AU$129.95 and AU$159.95 figures are the amounts displayed by the Australian PlayStation page at that snapshot. Xbox’s “AU$129.95+” and “AU$159.95+” wording should be treated as the displayed starting figures, not a promise of your final tax, delivery or checkout total. EB Games’ AU$129.95 is for its listed PS5 preorder, not proof that every retailer or edition costs the same.

Standard Edition
Standard is the lower-priced base game. It is available as a digital purchase through PlayStation or Xbox, and as a boxed code through the cited Australian retailers. Rockstar says a Standard purchaser can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft store at any point.
That upgrade path does not establish that buying Standard first and upgrading later costs the same as ordering Ultimate today. Check the live upgrade price and the exact included items before choosing Standard on the assumption that the difference will remain AU$30.

Ultimate Edition
Take-Two describes Ultimate as adding an exclusive collection of vehicles, weapons, apparel and action across Jason and Lucia’s story. The storefront pages identify an Ultimate Edition Upgrade alongside the edition listing. Review the current store description for the complete item list; the available material does not provide a separate Australian retail breakdown for every bonus item.
The cited support material does not describe a physical Ultimate Edition. If you buy a boxed Standard code, you can redeem it and then purchase the Ultimate upgrade through your console’s store, subject to the price and availability shown there.

How to pre-order digitally
PlayStation 5
- Open the Australian PlayStation Store on a PS5 or through the PlayStation store website while signed into the account that will play the game.
- Search for Grand Theft Auto VI and select either Standard or Ultimate. Confirm that the listing says PS5; the game is not listed as playable on PS4.
- Read the edition description, Vintage Vice City Pack eligibility, GTA+ trial language, redemption deadline and auto-renewal price before adding the item.
- Check the account country, price in Australian dollars and payment method. Do not use a code or store account from another region as a workaround.
- Complete payment and confirm that the order appears in your library or transaction history.
- Enable automatic downloads if desired. Rockstar’s stated digital preload window begins at local midnight on 12 November 2026, subject to the store’s current release settings.
- If you do not want GTA+ to continue after the included month, cancel its renewal using the subscription controls shown on your PlayStation account. The trial language on the Australian page says it auto-renews.
Xbox Series X|S
- Open the Australian Microsoft/Xbox Store on the console or while signed into the Microsoft account that will use the game.
- Select the PS5-free Xbox Series X|S listing and choose Standard or Ultimate. Confirm that the edition is not a different platform product.
- Read the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ offer details. Xbox’s terms state that the trial must be redeemed within 180 days after preorder and include an age-restricted-account limitation.
- Confirm the live checkout amount, payment method and account country, then place the preorder.
- Check your library and console installation settings. Use the digital preload window listed by Rockstar, beginning at local midnight on 12 November 2026.
Store labels and offer text can change before launch. Save the order confirmation and recheck the product page if an advertised bonus does not appear in your account.
How to pre-order from an Australian retailer
EB Games
- Open the Australian PS5 product listing and confirm that it is the GTA 6 PS5 preorder, not an older-generation or different-edition page.
- Check the listed AU$129.95 price, delivery availability and the local-store pickup lookup. Add any delivery charge to the comparison.
- Read the code-only description and Australian PlayStation account requirement. The product page lists 19 November as the date the game becomes playable, while delivery is stated to start from 12 November.
- Choose delivery or a participating store, complete payment and keep the order number.
- When the box or code is supplied, redeem it on the Australian PlayStation account, download the game and retain the packaging until activation succeeds.
JB Hi-Fi
- Search the current GTA 6 listings and select the correct PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version.
- Confirm that the item is a download-code-in-box product. The cited listing says there is no disc, the code is single-use and internet access is required.
- Check the live price, dispatch or collection date, delivery fee and any platform-specific offer language at checkout.
- Make sure the account used for redemption matches the product’s region. For Xbox, the cited Rockstar guidance says codes are not region-locked, but buying in the account’s country remains the recommended approach.
- After receiving the code, redeem it once on the intended account. A used code cannot be transferred to another player.
Retail stock and delivery estimates are snapshots rather than a guarantee that every store will have launch-day availability. A pickup notification or tracking update is more reliable than a general product-page date.

Rockstar says digital preorders and purchases of either edition made before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The listed contents are a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
Retailer pages cited for EB Games and JB Hi-Fi identify the Vintage Vice City Pack with their code-in-box preorders. Read the current retailer wording before paying, because the bonus may be represented by a separate code or redemption instruction.
One month of GTA+
Rockstar and Take-Two identify a free month of GTA+ for digital preorders. The Australian PlayStation page says the trial auto-renews and provides redemption instructions and deadlines. Xbox’s offer details say its trial must be redeemed within 180 days after preorder and that some age-restricted accounts are not eligible.
Do not treat a digital-store GTA+ trial as automatically included with a boxed code. The cited retailer pages mention the Vintage Vice City Pack but do not promise the digital GTA+ trial. Confirm the exact offer on the product page and cancel renewal if you do not want a paid membership after the included period.
Account region, code and platform checks
Buy for the account’s country
Rockstar’s country list includes Australia for PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Rockstar Store availability. Its support guidance recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account to avoid activation problems.
PlayStation codes are grouped by region, and EB Games’ Australian PS5 listing specifically requires an account registered to Australia. Xbox codes are described by Rockstar as not region-locked, but matching the retailer and account country is still the least risky route and makes customer support easier.
Verify the console before paying
- PlayStation: PS5 only according to the cited listing; it is not playable on PS4.
- Xbox: Xbox Series X|S; do not assume an Xbox One version from a retailer’s generic Xbox navigation.
- PC: No launch version is announced in the cited information. Do not buy a console code expecting it to activate on PC.

Troubleshooting common preorder problems
The game is missing from your library
Confirm that payment completed, then check the account’s transaction history and the correct console profile. A retailer code does not add the game until it has been redeemed; a digital preorder should appear on the account that purchased it.
The code will not redeem
Check that you selected the matching platform and that the account is Australian. Do not share the code or attempt to redeem it on several accounts. Keep the receipt, photograph the error for your records and ask the retailer to investigate an invalid or previously redeemed code.
The download has not started
Digital preload is not scheduled before the stated local-midnight window on 12 November. For a boxed product, the retailer must first dispatch or release the code. Check console storage, automatic-download settings and the network connection after confirming the release window.

The PlayStation offer says the trial auto-renews. Open the subscription settings on the account that claimed it and cancel before the renewal date if you do not want continued membership. Xbox’s 180-day redemption rule is separate from any renewal setting, so read the Xbox offer details as well.
A retailer price differs from the store price
Compare like with like: same platform, same edition, same delivery or collection method and the same bonus terms. A retailer’s AU$129.95 PS5 listing cannot establish that its Xbox product, Ultimate product or delivered total is cheapest.
Launch-day planning checklist
- Confirm your console has enough free storage for the download and any updates.
- Use the Australian account that will own and play the game.
- Complete the digital purchase or redeem the boxed code before the preload window.
- Check that the download has begun and that the console remains powered or set to download automatically.
- Keep your retailer receipt and code packaging until activation is confirmed.
- Set a reminder for any GTA+ trial renewal date.
- Expect the game to become playable on 19 November 2026, not merely when a box arrives.
