Modes available
Capcom identifies Third Strike as one of four collection games with online play and training mode. The collection’s listed offline options include Arcade Mode and local Versus Mode. Online descriptions include Online Arcade, ranked and casual matches, and lobbies for up to four players. These are product features, not a measure of how many opponents are online now or how well a particular connection will perform.

Regional edition detail
Capcom Japan’s FAQ addresses the Japanese PS4 International edition specifically: it says that edition includes Japanese and overseas versions of 12 titles, and that the online-enabled versions are the overseas versions of the four supported games, including Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. This is a detail about that Japanese edition, not a rule established for every region or storefront. See Capcom Japan’s FAQ.
Rank #2
- Relive the titles that made gaming history – Includes the original Street Fighter released in 1987 which introduced two of gaming’s most famous heroes, Ryu and Ken. Additionally, the iconic Street Fighter II became the first ever one-on-one video game that gave players a choice of characters, including the debut of the series’ strongest female Chun-Li. Street Fighter III continued the core numbered series and was the first game to introduce the parry attack.
- New gameplay options including online play – Players can utilize save states as they progress through the game offline. In addition, players can duke it out online in four classic titles (Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike). In addition to Ranked and Casual Match options, up to four players can join a lobby where they can play against the CPU while waiting for their match.
- Hadoken your way down memory lane – Revisit historic moments from the series and explore an interactive timeline of events that helped create one of the world’s leading fighting game series. View stunning pieces of concept art and uncover little known facts behind each game release.
- Learn more about fan-favourite characters – Scroll through character bios and learn new details about series favorites whilst enjoying sprites and key animations to see how the classic fighters have evolved over time.
Find an original arcade cabinet
The arcade version is a practical choice only if a cabinet is available where you live or at an event you can attend. No current venue, operating cabinet, or event schedule is established here. Check directly with local arcades and fighting-game event organizers rather than assuming a cabinet is nearby.

Consider Fightcade with realistic expectations
Fightcade describes itself as an online matchmaking application for retro games bundled with emulators. Its general service description does not confirm specific Third Strike setup steps, the lawful source of game files, current player counts, or match quality. It is not identified here as an official Capcom release. Do not treat its existence as proof that it is legal to use a particular game file, or that it currently has more opponents or better matches than the collection.

Choose a controller that fits your setup
A stick is optional. For the PC edition, Capcom lists XInput and DirectInput USB support for gamepads and arcade sticks. Before buying an accessory, verify that its connection type works with your specific platform and edition; the PC compatibility information does not establish compatibility on consoles.
