Which Persona 4 version should you get?
ATLUS’s current platform listings point to Persona 4 Golden. The publisher lists it for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as other platforms outside this guide. How to play on PC
Choose a storefront
On PC, ATLUS lists Windows and Steam as routes to the game. Steam identifies it as a single-player game. Compare your computer with the requirements shown by the storefront before buying or installing, since store compatibility details can change. Check the Steam listing.

These figures are Steam’s published game requirements, not a guarantee of performance on every PC. Steam also says its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024, so a Windows 8.1 minimum for the game does not necessarily mean the current Steam client will run on that operating system. The confirmed PlayStation listing is for PS4. ATLUS also lists PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation product page identifies the game as a PS4 title. The reviewed listings establish PS4 availability, not a native PS5 edition. If you plan to play on a PS5, check your local PlayStation Store and your console’s compatibility information rather than assuming a PS5 version is listed.

How to play on Xbox
ATLUS lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft’s listing confirms support for both. The listing also identifies PC and handheld play and marks the game as Xbox Play Anywhere. Check the Xbox listing in your region to see how the entitlement applies to your account and what purchase or subscription access is currently offered.

- Choose PC if you prefer a computer and have access to a storefront that lists the game; compare your hardware with its current requirements before purchase.
- Choose PS4 if you want console play on the confirmed PlayStation platform. For PS5 use, verify compatibility with your own store and device.
- Choose Xbox if you play on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, or want to check the Xbox Play Anywhere option and its terms for your account.
There is no single best platform established by these listings. Your existing device, preferred storefront and account, input preference, PC capability, and current local price or subscription terms are the practical deciding factors.

What kind of game is Persona 4 Golden?
The official store descriptions place the story in the rural town of Inaba, where a chain of murders draws the protagonist and friends into an otherworldly setting. The Xbox listing highlights dungeon exploration, a school year and relationships, difficulty selection, quick save, and Japanese or English voice-over. Xbox and Steam identify the game as single-player. Steam and Xbox provide their respective feature and language details.
