PEAK is not confirmed as a released PS5 game. Landfall’s official FAQ says the team is working on a console version, but it gives no PS5 launch date and no PS5 button layout. The FAQ describes a planned version that would connect console players with the existing Steam community and other console platforms; that is a development plan, not proof that a PS5 build is downloadable today.
If you want to play now, the confirmed version is on Steam for PC. Steam lists support for PlayStation controllers, but that only describes using such a controller with the PC edition. It does not establish PS5 availability or tell you which DualSense buttons will perform each action.

Is PEAK available on PS5?
There is no confirmed PS5 release date in Landfall’s published information. The company’s FAQ says, “We are currently working on bringing the game to consoles!” It also says console players are intended to play with the existing Steam community and other console platforms. The wording is future-facing: it confirms ongoing console work and an intended cross-platform direction, not a completed PS5 port.
Before treating any listing, video or social-media post as proof of a release, check Landfall’s official FAQ and the PlayStation Store directly. A PS5 version should have an official store listing that identifies the platform, publisher and download or purchase option. If you cannot find that listing, do not install a file advertised as a PS5 edition or assume that the PC version will run natively on the console.

What kind of game is PEAK?
PEAK is a cooperative climbing and survival game made by Aggro Crab in collaboration with Landfall. The developers describe it as a “co-op survival climbing game.” You and your companions ascend a changing mountain rather than following a fixed, familiar route.
Landfall’s game page describes four biomes, a map that rotates every 24 hours, online co-op and offline single-player. Progress depends on movement and teamwork, but also on survival decisions: players scavenge food, deal with injuries and use equipment to make difficult sections manageable.
That combination explains why a simple control list would not tell the whole story. You are not merely steering a character upward. A successful run involves choosing a route, deciding when to stop, sharing assistance and preserving the resources that make the next section possible. The same mountain can therefore feel different from one daily rotation to the next, even before a group changes its strategy.

Climbing and team assistance
- Players help one another reach ledges that may be difficult to access alone.
- Ropes and climbing spikes can create or extend routes through steep terrain.
- A teammate who falls behind can change the pace and risk of the entire ascent, so communication matters as much as individual movement.
- A group should identify who needs help before committing to a difficult section; assistance is a cooperative tool, not just an emergency animation.
Survival pressure
Food found during a run is not necessarily safe or desirable, and injuries reduce stamina. A route that is technically climbable can become dangerous when a character is hurt or exhausted. Those systems are part of the game’s challenge on the confirmed PC version; an eventual console build may present the same design, but its final controls and platform behavior have not been documented.
In practical terms, a team must weigh speed against preparation. Searching for food or supplies may separate players, while rushing onward may leave an injured scout without the stamina needed for the next ledge. The official descriptions support that general survival loop, but they do not publish a complete item guide or a fixed recipe for every situation.
What are the PEAK PS5 controls?
No official PS5 control map is available in the supplied Landfall or Steam information. Do not rely on articles that assign actions to Cross, Circle, L1, R2 or the touchpad unless they are based on a released PS5 build and its in-game settings. Guessing would be especially misleading in a climbing game, where movement, grip, equipment and assistance may depend on several context-sensitive actions.
Steam’s listing identifies PlayStation controllers as supported for the PC edition. That tells a PC player that a compatible PlayStation controller can be used with the Steam release. It does not tell you whether a PS5 version will use the same bindings, whether every DualSense feature will work, or whether the final console interface will display PlayStation button prompts.

Why PC controller support is not a PS5 control guide
A controller-support label describes compatibility with the PC product, not a console port. PC games can expose input settings through Steam or the game itself, and those settings may differ from a fixed console layout. Even if the eventual PS5 build uses familiar PlayStation symbols, the location of climbing, interaction, camera and equipment actions still needs to be confirmed in that build.

How to handle controls when a PS5 version is released
- Open the game’s own controller or settings menu before starting a serious climb.
- Record the displayed actions for movement, camera control, jumping or climbing, interaction, equipment and teammate assistance.
- Check whether the game offers remapping, sensitivity controls or alternate layouts.
- Test every action in a safe area or early section before committing supplies to a difficult route.
- Use the on-screen prompts from the installed build as the authority. A guide written for the PC edition may show different labels or bindings.
- Have each player verify the prompts independently. A host’s settings or controller type should not be assumed to describe another player’s setup.
Until an official PS5 build documents those settings, the useful answer to “What are the controls?” is that they are unconfirmed—not a speculative button chart.
How multiplayer works on the confirmed Steam version
Steam describes PEAK multiplayer as friends-only. One player can invite up to three other scouts, making a group of four players in total, or choose to play alone. The listing does not describe a public matchmaking browser or an open lobby system, so do not assume that strangers can join through a random queue.
The four-player limit is a total group size, not three separate teams. If one player hosts and invites three friends, all four are part of the same climb. That makes planning useful before launch: decide who is exploring, who is carrying the route forward and when the group will regroup. Those are play-strategy suggestions based on the cooperative mechanics, not additional matchmaking features.

- Install the Steam edition on a supported PC and start the game through Steam.
- Use the game’s multiplayer or invite flow to create a session.
- Invite as many as three friends through the available Steam or in-game invitation controls.
- Wait for the group to connect before beginning the climb, then agree on a pace and a route.
- Keep communication open when a player stops to search for food, suffers an injury or needs a rope or climbing spike.
The exact menu labels can change with updates, and the reviewed sources do not specify a particular invite screen. The reliable limit is the one stated by Steam: the host can invite up to three other scouts.
Playing alone
Landfall lists offline single-player as an option. Solo play is therefore part of the confirmed game feature set on the published PC information. The sources do not establish whether a future PS5 edition will implement offline play in exactly the same way, so treat console behavior as something to verify after a release.
Offline single-player also clarifies what is and is not being promised. It confirms that the PC game has a solo option; it does not confirm that a PS5 player can use the same saves, settings or progression between platforms. No account-transfer or cross-save policy is supplied, so avoid assuming that a console release will share progress with Steam.
Can PS5 players play with PC players?
Landfall says the planned console version is intended to be cross-platform: console players should be able to play with the existing Steam community and with players on other console platforms. That is the developer’s stated direction, not confirmation that a PS5-to-PC connection is live.

Several practical details remain unconfirmed:
- Whether cross-play will be enabled on the first console release or added later.
- Which console platforms will be included.
- Whether players will need a Landfall account, a platform account link or another identity system.
- Whether friends-only invitations will work across platforms in the same way as Steam invitations.
- Whether console and PC versions will launch with matching content and update timing.
- Whether cross-play can be disabled or restricted by platform, region or player preference.
- Whether console players will be able to join an existing Steam session without a separate code or invitation process.
For now, a Steam player can use the confirmed PC multiplayer features with other players supported by that edition. A PS5 player cannot be promised access until Landfall publishes a PS5 release and explains how its cross-play service works.
Steam facts versus the planned console version
The safest way to understand the situation is to separate what exists from what Landfall says it is building.
| Feature | Steam/PC information | PS5 or future console status |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | PEAK is listed for PC on Steam. | Console work is announced; no PS5 date is supplied. |
| Controller support | Steam lists PlayStation-controller support. | No PS5-specific layout or DualSense feature list is supplied. |
| Group size | Friends-only play with up to three invited scouts, or solo play. | Final console lobby and invitation behavior is not stated. |
| Cross-play | The PC community is the existing community Landfall references. | Cross-platform play with Steam and other consoles is intended, but not confirmed as a shipped PS5 feature. |
| Solo mode | Landfall lists offline single-player. | Equivalent PS5 behavior has not been documented. |
| World structure | Four biomes and a map rotation every 24 hours are described by Landfall. | No console-specific differences in biomes or rotation are announced. |
How to check for a genuine PS5 release
Release information can change, so use a short verification routine rather than relying on an old guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Read the official FAQ. Check Landfall’s FAQ for a dated announcement, platform list or release instructions.
- Check the official game page. Landfall’s PEAK page describes the game and its supported features. Look for a console-specific update rather than assuming the existing PC details apply to PS5.
- Search the PS5 PlayStation Store. Confirm that the result is an official PEAK product page with PS5 listed as the platform and a normal purchase or download path.
- Read the store description and settings information. Look for multiplayer requirements, cross-play wording and controller details supplied for the console edition.
- Check the version installed on the console. The title screen, update notes or settings menu should identify the platform build. A remote stream, PC copy or video capture is not the same as a native PS5 release.
- Compare the date of the announcement. An old FAQ sentence can describe an intention that has since changed; use the newest official platform notice available.
If those checks do not produce an official PS5 listing, the correct conclusion is that the console version is still pending or its availability has not been verified—not that a hidden download method is required.
What to expect from a first PEAK session
Once you are using a confirmed edition, the game’s basic loop is straightforward but demanding. You begin an ascent, learn the current mountain layout, gather useful supplies and choose when to help a teammate or conserve your own stamina.
Prepare before a difficult section
- Look at the terrain and identify a ledge or safer stopping point before climbing.
- Keep the group together when a route requires a boost or a rope.
- Use climbing spikes and ropes deliberately rather than spending them on a section that can be crossed safely without equipment.
- Account for injuries because reduced stamina can turn a previously safe maneuver into a fall.
- Communicate before splitting up to search for food or supplies.
- Regroup after a detour so one player is not forced to attempt a major section alone.
Adapt to the daily map rotation
Landfall says the map rotates every 24 hours. That means a route learned on one day may not be available in the same form on the next rotation. Treat route knowledge as guidance, not a permanent walkthrough: inspect the current terrain and adjust your plan to the layout your group actually receives.
The four-biome structure gives a useful high-level expectation, but the official page does not provide a complete route order or a permanent biome schedule. Do not promise readers that a particular landmark, shortcut or item will appear in one fixed location every day.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming a controller listing means PS5 availability
PlayStation-controller support on Steam means that a PC player can use a supported PlayStation controller with the Steam edition. It does not mean the game is installed on a PlayStation 5. Verify the console store listing separately.

Publishing a guessed button layout
Button assignments can differ between PC input settings and a console build. Until a PS5 version or official control guide exists, use no fixed button chart. The game’s own prompts should supersede any third-party diagram.
Treating planned cross-play as a live service
The FAQ’s cross-platform wording describes what Landfall intends for the console version. It does not confirm that a PS5 player can currently invite a Steam friend, nor does it identify every supported console. Wait for platform-specific instructions.
Expecting public matchmaking
The confirmed Steam description says friends-only and up to three invited scouts. Plan around an invitation-based group unless the game’s own documentation later adds another matchmaking option.

PEAK is not only a vertical movement challenge. Food choices, injuries and stamina affect whether a climb remains viable. A team that rushes ahead without supplies or a recovery plan can create a problem that better route selection would have prevented.
Confusing a video with a release
Gameplay footage, a remote stream or a creator using a PlayStation controller on a PC can look like PS5 footage. None of those proves a native PS5 build. The platform-specific store page and the installed console version are the appropriate checks.

Use Landfall’s FAQ for console status and cross-platform statements, and the official PEAK page for the game’s mechanics and feature description. The current PC listing is on Steam, where the friends-only multiplayer description and PlayStation-controller support are specified. Aggro Crab’s games page identifies the project as a co-op survival climbing game made with Landfall.
Those sources answer different questions: Steam documents the existing PC product, while Landfall’s FAQ explains the intended console direction. Keeping those categories separate prevents a PC feature from being mistaken for a PS5 specification.
