Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo play Jackbox Party Pack 12 remotely, one person runs the game on a supported PC or console and shares that game screen in a Zoom meeting or Discord channel. Everyone else watches the shared screen, opens jackbox.tv on a phone or other web-enabled device, enters the room code shown by the host, and uses that device to submit answers. Players do not need a separate gamepad, and the host’s copy is the one required for the session.
Party Pack 12 contains five games for 2–8 players. It launched at an official price of $29.99 on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with availability announced October 15, 2026. The instructions below cover the complete setup, platform-specific sharing steps, computer requirements, and fixes for the problems most likely to interrupt a remote game night.

What everyone needs before game night
The remote arrangement separates the game screen from the player controls. The host’s device runs Party Pack 12 and sends its picture and sound through the call. Each participant independently connects to the game’s web controller.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Host device: A copy of Party Pack 12 installed on a supported Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch.
- Call platform: A Zoom meeting or Discord voice channel capable of sharing the game window or screen.
- Player devices: A phone, tablet, or computer with a modern web browser for
jackbox.tv. A dedicated controller is not required for the normal flow. - Connection: Stable broadband for the host, because the host sends the live game image and audio to everyone else.
- Room code: The short code displayed after the host launches a game. Players cannot join until that code is visible.
Jackbox Games describes this arrangement directly: “Only one person in your group needs to own a Jackbox product in order to host the game.” The same host can invite people who have never installed a Jackbox title; their browsers serve as the input devices.

We Forgot a Card
This design and joke-writing game has players create absurd greeting cards. Jackbox notes that some cards can be purchased in real life. In a remote session, participants write on their phones while the shared screen displays the prompts, creations, and results.
MegaPals
MegaPals is a speed-and-guessing game built around impulsive word choices and matching the way friends think. Because response timing matters, players should keep the shared stream visible and avoid switching repeatedly between the call and their controller browser.
Debate and Switch
This head-to-head presentation and debate game uses light-hearted or outlandish topics. Keep voice chat available so players can hear presentations and rebuttals; the phone is used for the game’s written input.
Idol Factions
Idol Factions is team trivia in which players sort answers into categories under time pressure. A clear, large shared game image helps everyone read the categories and follow the countdown.

How a remote round works from start to finish
- The host installs Party Pack 12, opens it, and chooses one of the five games.
- The host starts a Zoom meeting or joins a Discord voice channel before inviting the group.
- The host shares the game window (or the console feed) so every player can see the prompts, lobby, timers, and results. Include system audio where the calling app offers that option.
- Players open
jackbox.tvon a phone or other browser-capable device. - Each player enters the room code shown on the shared screen and chooses a display name.
- The host waits for every expected name to appear in the in-game lobby, then starts the round.
- Players submit answers on their individual devices while watching the shared game screen and listening through the call.
Only the host needs to run the game application. The participants’ browsers do not display the full game; they provide the controls and answer forms associated with the active room.
Zoom setup: exact host procedure
1. Open the game before inviting people
Launch Party Pack 12 and select the game you intend to play. Reaching the game’s start screen first makes it easier to test that the correct window, picture, and sound are ready before the call fills with guests.
2. Start the meeting and share the game
Create or join the Zoom meeting, then choose Zoom’s screen-sharing command and select the Jackbox game window when possible. Sharing a single window prevents unrelated desktop content or notifications from appearing. If your Zoom version offers a system-audio checkbox, enable it so remote players hear prompts, countdowns, and announcements from the game.
3. Send the invitation and explain the two-screen arrangement
Send the meeting link through your normal group chat. Tell players to keep Zoom visible for the shared picture and conversation while opening a separate browser tab on their phone for jackbox.tv. A participant can join the call on a computer and use a phone as the controller; the two devices do not have to be the same.

4. Enter the room
Read the room code from the shared game window. Every participant types that code at jackbox.tv, enters a name, and waits for the lobby confirmation. If a name is missing, do not start until that person has entered the current code successfully.

5. Play and manage the call view
Start the game from the host device. Keep the shared game window large enough for text and images to be read. Participants can mute their microphones when they are not speaking, but leave voice chat available for presentation or debate sections.
Discord setup: exact host procedure
1. Prepare a voice channel
Create or join a Discord server voice channel and invite the group. Open Party Pack 12 on the host device before starting the stream.
2. Stream the game window
Use Discord’s screen-share function and select the Jackbox game window rather than the entire desktop when that choice is available. Confirm that the stream is showing the game and that the channel’s audio controls are sending the game sound. Discord’s labels and quality controls can change between client versions, so check the current stream panel before players join.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →3. Have players open the controller
Ask everyone to open jackbox.tv on a phone, tablet, or browser-capable computer. They can remain in the Discord voice channel on another device so the stream and conversation stay easy to follow.
4. Distribute the room code
Once the room code appears in the Discord stream, read it aloud or type it in the channel. Each player enters it, picks a name, and confirms that their name appears in the host’s lobby.
5. Keep voice chat useful
Debate and Switch depends on spoken presentations, and other games can involve reactions or shouting. Ask people to mute duplicate microphones if they hear an echo, leaving one clear audio path for the host’s game sound and the conversation. For Hyperface, enlarge the stream or reduce camera tiles so edited images remain legible.

Zoom or Discord: which is better for your group?
Jackbox officially identifies both Zoom and Discord as suitable remote screen-sharing choices and does not rank one above the other. The practical differences are in the calling experience and the controls available on the account and client you use.
| Decision point | Zoom | Discord |
|---|---|---|
| Inviting non-gamers | A meeting link is familiar to people who already use video calls; guests can join from the invitation. | Guests need access to the server or voice channel, which is straightforward for existing Discord communities. |
| Screen sharing | Use the Share Screen control and select the game window. System-audio options can vary by Zoom version. | Use the channel’s screen-share control and select the game window. Stream and audio labels can change with the current client. |
| Call-duration limits | Limits depend on the Zoom account and plan in use; verify the current allowance before a long session. | Limits and available stream controls depend on the Discord account, server settings, and current service policies. |
| Participant familiarity | Often easiest for guests who already receive Zoom invitations for work, school, or family calls. | Often easiest for groups that already gather in a Discord server and know its voice-channel controls. |
| Latency sensitivity | Performance depends on the meeting configuration, host connection, and participants’ networks. | Performance depends on the server, stream settings, client version, and participants’ networks. |
Choose the service your group can join without account confusion, then test a short screen share before the scheduled game. The game itself does not require every player to install either calling app on the controller device if they can keep the call on another screen.

The Epic Games Store listing gives the following Windows specifications for a PC running Party Pack 12:
| Component | Minimum listed specification | Recommended listed specification |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or later | Windows 10 or later |
| Processor | 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo or better | 2.33 GHz quad-core |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GeForce 500 series or Radeon 5000 series | GeForce 600 series or Radeon 6000 series |
| Storage | 3 GB available space | 3 GB available space |
The processor figures are quoted exactly as listed: the recommended entry uses four cores even though its stated clock speed is lower than the minimum entry. Leave additional free space for the operating system, updates, and the calling application rather than filling the drive to the stated game size.
Host checklist before people arrive
- Test the full path: Open the game, start a private call, share the game window, and confirm that a second device can see the picture and hear the audio.
- Use stable broadband: The host’s connection carries the stream for everyone, so avoid large downloads or uploads during play.
- Close unrelated notifications: Disable banners, message previews, and pop-ups that could appear in a shared desktop or interrupt the game.
- Share only what is necessary: Select the game window instead of the whole desktop whenever the call service allows it.
- Prepare the room code workflow: Keep the game’s lobby visible while late players connect, then start only after the expected names are present.
- Set one audio source: If the host’s speakers are also picked up by a microphone, use headphones or mute duplicate devices to prevent echo.
- Make text readable: Reduce camera tiles and enlarge the game stream, especially for category sorting and photo editing.
- Plan for response timing: Fast-response rounds are less tolerant of stream delay; ask players to report serious lag immediately.
Troubleshooting remote play
A player cannot join the room
Ask the player to reload jackbox.tv and enter the room code currently visible on the host’s screen. Codes from an earlier round or a previous game are no longer valid. Confirm that the device has a working browser and an internet connection, then check that the player’s chosen name appears in the lobby.
The room code is difficult to read
Stop sharing unrelated windows, enlarge the game stream, and reduce camera tiles. The host can also read the code aloud or type it into the call chat, but the participant must still enter the code displayed by the active game.
Best Value
Players hear an echo
Echo usually means the same game audio is entering the call through more than one microphone or device. Have participants mute secondary microphones, use headphones, and keep one clear audio source. The host should verify that the call is not capturing both speakers and a second connected device.
The stream has picture but no game sound
Reopen the screen-share controls and enable the service’s system-audio option where available. In Discord, inspect the current stream panel and channel permissions because audio and quality controls can differ by client version. If necessary, stop sharing and start a fresh share of the game window.
The picture is blurry or too small
Share the game window rather than a compressed full desktop when possible, close bandwidth-heavy applications, and ask viewers to enlarge the stream. Reducing camera tiles gives the shared image more room. Hyperface and any game containing detailed text or drawings benefit most from these changes.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Answers arrive late in a fast round
Stream delay is most noticeable when a game expects rapid responses. Pause between rounds, stop and restart the share, and have participants reconnect if the delay becomes severe. A stable wired or strong wireless connection at the host can help, but the calling service and each participant’s network also affect timing.
A participant sees a frozen or disconnected share
Check whether the host’s broadband connection is saturated, then stop and restart the screen share. Close unrelated uploads or downloads and share only the game window. If the call remains unstable, reconnect the host to the voice or meeting session before launching another round.
People can hear conversation but not each other clearly during presentations
Keep microphones muted when people are not speaking, then unmute one presenter at a time. Ask everyone to use the same call audio path rather than joining the meeting on multiple nearby devices. This is especially important for Debate and Switch, where spoken presentations are part of the game experience.
A simple operating pattern for a smooth session
- Ten minutes before start: The host launches the selected game, checks the call, shares the window, and confirms game audio.
- At arrival: Participants join the call first, then open
jackbox.tvon their controller devices. - Lobby check: The host reads the room code, waits for every expected name, and fixes missing players before pressing Start.
- During play: Keep the shared game view prominent, leave voice chat available, and avoid changing streams while a timed prompt is active.
- Between games: Return to the pack menu, choose the next title, and have players enter the newly displayed room code if the game creates a new room.
This workflow keeps the call responsible for picture and conversation while the browser handles private input. It also gives the host a clear checkpoint—every name visible in the lobby—before a timed round begins.
