The current Conan Exiles: Enhanced setup does not use a separate Isle of Siptah server. Run an Exiled Lands server, then use the game’s travel system to reach Siptah. Funcom says the two maps were merged and that existing standalone Siptah dedicated servers should be moved to Exiled Lands servers.

If you are maintaining the pre-Enhanced branch, the older standalone configuration still matters: install the dedicated server, point Engine.ini at the Siptah map, open the required UDP/TCP ports, and protect the correct save file. The instructions below separate the current method from that legacy workflow so you do not apply an obsolete map setting to a new server.

Enhanced changed the server model rather than merely adding another map file. Funcom’s Enhanced guidance says the Isle of Siptah has been merged with the Exiled Lands, so separate Siptah servers are no longer necessary. Your server should therefore start on the Exiled Lands map. Once connected, travel to Siptah through the game’s normal travel system.
What this means for a new server
- Create or rent an Exiled Lands Conan Exiles server.
- Do not set
ServerDefaultMapto the old Siptah map path on an Enhanced installation. - Join the server on Exiled Lands and use the in-game travel feature to reach Siptah.
- Keep backups before every game update, mod change, or save migration.
What this means for an existing standalone Siptah server
Funcom instructs owners of existing dedicated Siptah servers to move to Exiled Lands servers. The Unreal Engine 5 coordinate change means bases cannot be preserved reliably through the migration. Before changing versions or maps, dismantle structures you want to keep and place the materials and valuable items in followers’ inventories. Treat the old world as a source of recoverable items, not as a save that can simply be copied into the new coordinate system.

Do not mix the two procedures
The legacy Engine.ini setting and DLC_Siptah.db file describe the old standalone-map model. They remain useful when you deliberately run the pre-Enhanced branch or need to maintain an old installation, but they are not the way to configure a current Enhanced server.
Choose self-hosting or a managed server
Both approaches can run Conan Exiles, but they place different work on you. Choose based on who should handle operating-system updates, backups, port forwarding, and restarts.

For example, GPORTAL documents a panel sequence of My Servers → select the server → Basic Settings → Map → Isle of Siptah → restart. That is a legacy-style map selection workflow, not evidence that every provider has current Enhanced Siptah support. Before paying for a plan, verify that the provider supports the Enhanced release, the map travel system, your intended mods, downloadable backups, and the restart controls you need.
Hardware and capacity planning
Funcom’s dedicated-server guide published the following planning tiers in 2017. They are historical publisher figures, not current Enhanced benchmarks. Use them as a rough reference only; actual load depends on player activity, bases, creatures, automation, mods, view distance, and how much other work the machine performs.

Leave free disk space beyond the published 35 GB so the server can write saves, logs, crash dumps, updates, and mod files. A modern, high-clock desktop CPU is generally preferable to an old many-core processor for a small private server, but the table above does not establish a tested requirement for Enhanced.

Network prerequisites
- A stable connection with enough upload capacity for your expected concurrent players.
- A reachable public IP address, or a managed host that supplies one.
- Permission to create router port-forwarding rules if the server is at home.
- A firewall rule on the server computer and any upstream router.
- A fixed local address for the server machine, so forwarding rules do not break after a DHCP change.
Current Enhanced setup on your own machine
The following procedure creates the supported current architecture: an Exiled Lands dedicated server that players can use to travel to Siptah.

- In Steam, open Library → Tools and install Conan Exiles Dedicated Server.
- If you use SteamCMD instead, install the dedicated server with application ID
443030. - Record the server directory. You will need it for configuration, launch scripts, logs, and backups.
2. Set the server identity and administration password
- Open
ConanSandboxinonly if your installation created that exact working path; otherwise use the server’s own documented configuration directories. Do not assume a client installation’s folders are interchangeable with the dedicated-server installation.

The path above can differ depending on whether Steam, SteamCMD, or a host panel created the installation. Navigate by locating the SavedConfigWindowsServer directory inside the dedicated-server folder rather than copying a path from a different installation.
3. Leave the map on the Enhanced default
Do not add the old standalone Siptah ServerDefaultMap line to a current Enhanced server. Start on Exiled Lands, confirm that players can connect, and use the game’s travel system to reach Siptah.
4. Open the documented ports
Create firewall and router rules for the ports your installation uses. Funcom’s dedicated-server guide identifies these defaults:

Funcom notes that the server listens on UDP 27015 and UDP 7777 by default. If you change a port in configuration, forward the changed value instead of blindly opening the defaults. Do not expose RCON to the public internet without access controls; if you do not use RCON, leave its port closed.
5. Start and test the server
- Launch
StartServer.batorConanSandboxServer.exefrom the dedicated-server installation. - Wait for the console to finish loading and watch for errors before inviting players.
- From the same network, test a local connection first. Then test from an external network, such as a phone hotspot, to verify router forwarding rather than relying on a local address.
- Confirm that the server appears in the browser and that a player can log in with the join password.
- Use the administrator password only for administrative commands and keep it out of public chat and screenshots.
6. Travel to Siptah in game
After connecting to the Exiled Lands server, use Conan Exiles’ travel system to enter Siptah. Because both regions are part of the Enhanced server architecture, players should not expect a second Siptah process, second public server entry, or separate map database for the current installation.
7. Back up before updates and configuration changes
Stop the server cleanly before copying its save data. Keep at least one backup from before every game update, map change, or large mod update, and store a copy outside the live server directory. Label backups with the date, game branch, and mod list so you know which files can be restored together.
Legacy standalone Isle of Siptah server
Use this section only for a pre-Enhanced branch or an installation that intentionally retains the original standalone Siptah model. It is not the current Enhanced procedure.
1. Install the same dedicated-server package
Install Conan Exiles Dedicated Server from Steam’s Tools library or through SteamCMD application ID 443030. Keep the server files separate from your regular Conan Exiles client files so updates and configuration do not get mixed.
2. Configure the legacy map in Engine.ini
Open the dedicated server’s ConanSandboxSavedConfigWindowsServerEngine.ini. Add the following section and value:

ServerDefaultMap=/Game/DLC_EXT/DLC_Siptah/Maps/DLC_Isle_of_SiptahFuncom’s manual identifies the INI method as the preferred way to select the map. The same manual documents a command-line map path as an alternative; use the exact command-line syntax from that manual for your server build rather than combining it with an unrelated launch example.
3. Set identity and administration values
Use Engine.ini for the legacy server name, password, and networking settings described by Funcom. Set AdminPassword in ServerSettings.ini. Stop the server before editing either file, and remove accidental duplicate keys if the game is ignoring a value.

4. Start the process and open ports
Launch StartServer.bat or ConanSandboxServer.exe. The documented default ports are UDP 7777 for game traffic, UDP 7778 for the browser pinger, UDP 27015 for PC queries, and TCP 25575 for RCON. Apply the same firewall and router checks described in the current setup.
5. Verify the loaded map
Read the startup console and join with a test account. If the server loads Exiled Lands instead of Siptah, stop it and check the section header, capitalization, file location, and whether another configuration file is being used by the launch script. Do not troubleshoot this by deleting save files; confirm the map setting first.
6. Back up the correct legacy save
Funcom’s legacy manual identifies Game.db for Exiled Lands and DLC_Siptah.db for Isle of Siptah, along with map-specific backup and upgrade files. Stop the server, copy the relevant database and companion files, and preserve the original folder structure in your backup. Restoring an Exiled Lands database over a Siptah installation, or the reverse, can make the world appear missing or cause the server to recreate data.

Where is DLC_Siptah.db?
On the legacy standalone model, look in the dedicated server’s Saved data area—the same server save area that contains the map database for your installation. The filename is DLC_Siptah.db; the Exiled Lands counterpart is Game.db. The exact parent directory depends on whether Steam, SteamCMD, or a hosting panel created the server, so search within the dedicated-server folder for the filename instead of assuming a client save path.

If you are running Enhanced, do not expect a separate Siptah database to be the authoritative world file. The merged architecture is why copying a legacy DLC_Siptah.db into a new server is not a supported migration strategy.
Migrating an old Siptah world to Enhanced
- Stop the old server and make a complete, dated backup of its save directory.
- Log in while the old world is still available and identify structures, crafting stations, thralls, resources, and equipment that must be retained.
- Dismantle bases and other structures whose materials you need to recover.
- Place the materials and important items in followers’ inventories, as Funcom recommends for the coordinate-changing migration.
- Install or update the Exiled Lands server on the Enhanced branch.
- Start the new server with its normal Exiled Lands configuration; do not add the legacy Siptah map override.
- Verify player access, settings, and backups before using the in-game travel system to reach Siptah.
Do not promise players that a copied database will preserve base locations. The UE5 coordinate change is the reason Funcom warns that bases may not survive intact.
Troubleshooting common failures
The server is not visible in the browser
- Confirm the process is running and has finished loading.
- Check UDP 7777, UDP 7778, and UDP 27015 in both the operating-system firewall and router.
- Verify that forwarding points to the server’s current local IP address.
- Test from outside your home network; local testing can succeed even when internet forwarding is broken.
- Check whether another application already owns one of the ports.
Players can see the server but cannot join
- Confirm the join password and server name in the configuration actually used by the launch script.
- Check that the server and clients are on compatible game versions.
- If mods are installed, compare the enabled list and load order on every client.
- Review the console for a crash, authentication error, or mod that fails during startup.
The wrong map loads
- On Enhanced, remove the legacy
ServerDefaultMapoverride and start with Exiled Lands. - On the legacy branch, confirm the exact
[/Script/EngineSettings.GameMapsSettings]section and Siptah path inEngine.ini. - Check for a second configuration directory or a host-panel setting that overwrites the file.
- Restart after saving the file; map settings are not normally applied to an already running process.
The world appears empty after an update
Stop the server immediately and do not continue playing on the newly generated world. Check whether the launch points to the expected save directory and whether the backup contains the correct database. On legacy installations, distinguish Game.db from DLC_Siptah.db. On Enhanced migrations, a missing base may reflect the UE5 coordinate change rather than a corrupted backup.
Mods prevent startup
Disable recently changed mods, start the server with a known-good load order, and reintroduce additions one at a time. A managed host may warn that a mod is incompatible with the DLC, but the warning does not establish compatibility with your exact Enhanced version; check the host’s current support statement and the mod author’s version requirements.
RCON does not work
Confirm that TCP 25575 is enabled only if RCON is configured, that the password and port match the server settings, and that the firewall permits the connection from your administration address. If you do not need remote administration, disable RCON and close the port.
