What playing as Lucia means in this mod
The Lucia download covered here is an “Add-On Ped”: a character model you install and then select in-game. It is not evidence of a new campaign starring Lucia, nor does installing it automatically replace GTA 5’s character-switching system. The model listing describes the files, dependencies and selection methods on its Lucia Add-On Ped page.

That distinction matters because two different things are often called a character-swap mod:
- Model selection: Load Lucia as the character model you control, using AddonPeds or a trainer.
- Character switching: Change how the game moves between its existing playable characters. A separate mod can alter the switching behavior, but it does not supply the Lucia model.
The documented Lucia package is an add-on ped, not a documented replacement for a particular pedestrian model. Do not follow replacement-model instructions for this file unless its current listing specifically says to do so. An add-on ped workflow means the model is installed and registered as an additional selectable model according to the listing. Likewise, seeing Lucia in the player-model menu is not the same as adding a new playable character to the game’s story. The listing describes a model installation and selection workflow, not new missions, dialogue, story progression or a Lucia-led campaign. If your goal is simply to control a Lucia model during single-player, the documented add-on ped route addresses that goal; it does not promise broader story content.
What you need before installing
The Lucia listing names ScriptHook, ScriptHook V.NET, OpenIV and AddonPeds as requirements. Check the current instructions for each dependency and the mod page before downloading: the Lucia listing does not establish a currently verified GTA V build or clearly confirm support for the Enhanced edition.
- GTA V for PC: Confirm whether your installation is Legacy or Enhanced and note the game build. Compatibility should be checked against the game you actually have installed, not just the title “GTA V.”
- ScriptHook and ScriptHook V.NET: The Lucia listing names both. ScriptHook V must match the game version, and a GTA V update can make it stop working until a compatible release is available. Check the relevant current dependency page rather than relying on an old installation guide.
- OpenIV: Used in the documented installation workflow. Enhanced users may need additional tooling to make OpenIV work with that edition. The fact that OpenIV is listed for the model does not resolve which extra steps apply to your exact setup.

Install the Lucia add-on ped
- Identify your edition and build. Check whether you use Legacy or Enhanced, then compare your GTA V build with the current compatibility notes for the Lucia model and its dependencies. Do not infer Enhanced compatibility from another mod’s page. The Lucia listing does not clearly verify a current build or Enhanced support, so treat that as unresolved until you check its latest instructions.
- Back up first. Keep unmodified copies of any files you will change, and back up your saves. This gives you a recovery route if a dependency or loose file prevents the game from starting. The community guide specifically recommends retaining an unmodded copy; backups are a practical safeguard, not a guarantee that every mod issue can be diagnosed automatically.
- Install the named dependencies. Follow the current installation instructions for ScriptHook, ScriptHook V.NET, OpenIV and AddonPeds. The order and setup details can depend on their current versions and your game edition, so use each tool’s own instructions rather than assuming one universal setup. If a dependency page has edition-specific directions, follow those for your copy of the game.
- Place the model files. The Lucia listing directs users to put the model files in the AddonPeds
peds.rpfpath. Follow the listing’s current path and file instructions exactly; the source does not document a separate replacement-model installation for this Lucia file. Do not substitute a manual archive path copied from a different mod unless the Lucia listing itself directs you to it. - Register Lucia in AddonPeds. Add the model to AddonPeds’ list as instructed by the Lucia page. A model that is copied into an archive but not registered may not appear in the in-game selection list. Keep the model’s installation and registration steps together: completing only one of them is not the same as completing the listed setup.
- Launch single-player and select the model. Use the AddonPeds selector or a trainer’s model-change menu, the two methods described by the Lucia listing. The source does not establish a universal key or menu path for every trainer. Follow the controls for the selector or trainer you installed rather than assuming that a phrase such as “In-game, press L” applies to every version or setup.
For file-specific details, use the Lucia model listing. Its instructions, rather than another character mod’s setup, govern this model. Before following an older tutorial, compare it with the current listing and the current dependency pages: filenames, paths and compatibility notes are specific to the package and version being used.
Keep the first test simple: install the Lucia model workflow, launch single-player, and see whether the model appears using one of the documented selection methods. If you also want faster switching between GTA 5’s existing characters, install that separate feature only after the Lucia model works. Separating those tasks makes it easier to identify which package or dependency is responsible if something goes wrong.

Choose how to select Lucia

Choose one selection route based on the tools you already use and the instructions supplied for them. A trainer’s model-change menu is not the same feature as a mod that changes the game’s character-switching behavior. The AddonPeds route is directly tied to registering and selecting an add-on ped; the trainer route is an alternative way to change the model if your trainer provides that function.
Neither method changes the fact that the Lucia package is a model. A selection menu can let you control the model, but it does not itself add missions or change the underlying story roster. The available listing gives these two selection options, but it does not document a universal controller button, trainer menu name or key sequence for every installation. Use the instructions for your chosen tool and the current Lucia page.
Do you also need a character-switching mod?
Only install one if you specifically want to change the behavior of switching between GTA 5’s existing story characters. The separate Seamless Character Switching listing describes faster switching, offers an OIV installation package and an uninstall package, and lists support for Legacy and Enhanced. Its Enhanced instructions say additional tooling is needed to make OpenIV work with GTA V Enhanced. These are claims on the mod listing, not an independent compatibility test. The two packages solve separate problems: AddonPeds and the Lucia files make Lucia available as a model to select, while the switching mod concerns how the game transitions between its existing characters. Installing the switcher alone does not install Lucia, and installing Lucia alone does not make story-character switching faster. If you want both behaviors, follow each page’s directions as a separate installation rather than treating them as one combined mod.
Install and remove that mod separately, following its own package instructions and uninstaller. It does not install Lucia, register her model with AddonPeds or provide a Lucia campaign. The listing was updated March 29, 2026; check its current page before using it with your game build. Its OIV installer and uninstaller are specific to that switching mod, so do not use them as a general removal procedure for the Lucia model or unrelated mods.

An older page for the same switching mod lists OpenIV and ScriptHookV requirements and gives a manual archive path, but it also says the mod had not been tested through story play. For current installation and edition information, prefer the more recently updated listing and do not assume a bug-free story experience. The older instructions are available on the OpenIV mod page. This is a useful reason not to mix procedures casually: an older manual path and a newer OIV package are different sets of directions, and the newer listing should guide current use.

Legacy and Enhanced compatibility
Compatibility depends on the game edition, build and each individual tool or asset. A general compatibility statement from one mod does not confirm that the Lucia model or its dependencies work on the same setup. A mod page’s support label is useful information to check, but it should be treated as that page’s claim unless independently tested for your exact configuration.

In practice, verify the model, dependencies and any optional switching mod separately. If the game has just updated, a model that worked on an older build may not be the only factor: ScriptHook V compatibility can also be affected. Likewise, a switching mod’s Legacy and Enhanced claim does not verify that the Lucia files, AddonPeds or every dependency work on both editions.
The community guide also advises keeping mods to single-player. Do not treat modded Online play as supported or safe. The instructions and compatibility notes here concern the modded single-player workflow; they do not establish permission, safety or support for using these files in GTA Online.

Lucia does not appear in the selector
- Confirm that the model files were placed in the AddonPeds
peds.rpflocation specified by the Lucia listing. - Check that Lucia was added to AddonPeds’ list, not merely copied into the archive.
- Try the other documented selection route—AddonPeds selector or a trainer model-change menu—if you have that tool installed.
- Check that you are following the current instructions for the Lucia package rather than a replacement-model guide or another ped’s setup.
The documented route has both an archive placement step and a registration step. If one was skipped, revisit the listing and verify each part. If you are using a trainer, remember that menu names and controls vary; the Lucia listing does not provide one set of controls that applies to every trainer.

The game stops launching after installation
- Use the unmodded backups you made to restore changed files, then add the dependencies and model again according to their current instructions.
- Check for loose files or a dependency that does not match your game build. The community guide warns that loose mod files can prevent launch.
- If the problem began after a GTA V update, check whether ScriptHook V has a compatible build before treating the model itself as the cause.
- Review the edition-specific instructions for each tool. Do not assume that a Legacy setup or asset will work unchanged on Enhanced.
Change one part of the setup at a time when retrying. The sources do not provide a universal diagnostic sequence or a guarantee that a particular file is responsible; the safer course is to use your backup, check current dependency compatibility and follow the package-specific directions rather than deleting files by guesswork.
OpenIV or a mod behaves differently on Enhanced
Do not assume a Legacy installation path or asset will work on Enhanced. Check the current instructions for the exact edition. The switching mod’s listing identifies extra tooling for OpenIV on Enhanced, while the Lucia listing does not clearly confirm Enhanced support. That distinction matters: Enhanced instructions for the switching mod cannot be used as proof that the Lucia add-on ped is compatible.
You want to remove the switching mod
Use the uninstaller package provided by its current listing and follow that package’s instructions. Avoid deleting files by guesswork, particularly when you have multiple mods installed. The uninstaller is for the switching mod; removal of the Lucia model and its dependencies should follow their own current instructions and the backups you retained.
