- A GeForce NOW membership: NVIDIA’s setup flow asks you to choose a membership before starting a session. Plan names, prices, session limits and regional availability are changeable, so use the current membership page rather than relying on an old price list.
- A supported client: You can use the GeForce NOW app or a supported browser. NVIDIA supports computers, phones, tablets, selected televisions and handheld devices, with different technical limits for each platform.
- The correct game-store entitlement: Paid games generally must be owned or purchased through a store that GeForce NOW supports. A subscription or purchase on a different cloud service does not automatically satisfy this requirement.
- Suitable input: A gamepad is required for television play and for iPhone or iPad play. Desktop platforms can use the input methods offered by the client and game; the PC version of Reloaded supports mouse and keyboard as well as controller remapping.

In GeForce NOW, open the settings or account area for connected game stores and sign in to the store shown for the game. Sync the library when prompted. NVIDIA uses that sign-in to verify ownership and populate your library. If several accounts are used on the device, check the email address and profile carefully before launching; being signed in to a different account is one of the most common reasons a purchased title appears unavailable.
Connect only the store that corresponds to the catalog button. An Xbox account, for example, may be the required route for one listing, while another region or edition may present Steam. Do not select a different store merely because you own the game there unless GeForce NOW displays that store as supported for your account.

5. Add or select the game
Search your GeForce NOW library for the exact title. If the interface offers an Add to library button, select it, then choose the supported store version. Review the store label one more time before starting the session; editions with similar names can have different entitlements.
6. Start the cloud session
Select Play or Launch. GeForce NOW allocates a remote cloud gaming rig, starts the store and game there, and streams the resulting frames to your device. Your local machine still decodes the stream and sends input, but it does not need to render the remaster at the same level as a conventional gaming PC.
7. Sign in when the store asks again
The store or publisher launcher may request authentication inside the remote session even after you connected it in GeForce NOW. Complete that sign-in with the same account that owns the game. Never enter credentials into an unfamiliar page; use the official account window presented by the client.
8. Configure controls and begin
On a desktop, test mouse movement, keyboard bindings and controller buttons in the game’s control menu. Reloaded offers modern and classic control layouts and controller remapping. On a phone, tablet or TV, pair the controller before launching and keep it connected throughout the session. If the game does not detect input, close the session, reconnect the controller at the operating-system level, and launch again.
Ownership, stores and the Xbox Cloud Gaming distinction
GeForce NOW and Xbox Cloud Gaming are separate services with separate entitlement checks. GeForce NOW connects a supported PC game-store library and normally requires ownership of a paid title in that store. Xbox’s game listing separately identifies Gears of War: Reloaded as playable through Xbox Cloud Gaming with eligible Game Pass tiers.

The practical rule is simple: decide which service you intend to use, then follow that service’s sign-in and entitlement flow. An Xbox Cloud Gaming entitlement should not be described as a substitute for a GeForce NOW store entitlement without checking the specific GeForce NOW listing.
Device and input choices
Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux and other computers
Use the GeForce NOW app or supported browser, connect the store account, and choose either keyboard and mouse or a controller. The game’s PC listing supports both input styles and controller remapping. A powerful local GPU is not the primary requirement for cloud rendering, but your computer must meet NVIDIA’s current client, operating-system and display requirements.
TV play
NVIDIA requires a gamepad for TV gameplay. Pair a supported controller with the television or streaming device before opening the session. An Xbox controller is an optional, defensible choice because NVIDIA lists Xbox controllers among supported peripherals; it is not a mandatory purchase for desktop users.
iPhone and iPad
A gamepad is required for iPhone and iPad gameplay. Touch controls should not be assumed for this title. Check NVIDIA’s current mobile requirements for the supported browser or app route, operating-system version and any platform-specific limits.

Internet requirements that affect playability
Cloud gaming quality depends on the complete path between your device and an NVIDIA data center, not just the advertised speed from your internet provider. NVIDIA’s current Windows requirements give these targets:

NVIDIA also states a network-latency requirement below 80 milliseconds to an NVIDIA data center. That is a service target, not a promise that every connection below 80 ms will remain stable. Congestion, Wi-Fi interference, packet loss and household traffic can still produce blur, stutter or input delay.
Improve the connection before changing game settings
- Use wired Ethernet when practical.
- If using Wi-Fi, prefer a 5 GHz network and stay close to the access point.
- Pause large downloads, cloud backups and 4K video streams on the same connection.
- Test at the time you normally play; an off-peak speed test may not represent evening congestion.
- If the client offers a stream-quality setting, select a target your connection can sustain instead of forcing a higher resolution.
Requirements differ for Mac, Chromebook, Linux, mobile, handheld, television and browser sessions. Use the platform-specific NVIDIA requirement for your device rather than applying the Windows numbers indiscriminately.

Gears of War: Reloaded is a remaster of the first Gears of War and includes post-launch content, a bonus campaign act, maps, characters and cosmetics, according to Xbox’s listing. NVIDIA describes solo campaign play and online co-op. Xbox lists two-player campaign co-op, cross-play and cross-progression.
Cross-play versus cross-progression
Cross-play lets players on different platforms play together. Xbox says cross-play itself does not require a Microsoft account. Cross-progression is different: Xbox’s listing says a Microsoft account is required for saves and progress to follow you, and Xbox Wire’s May 2025 launch announcement associates that account with broader cross-platform functions such as progression and invites.

Therefore, decide whether you need only multiplayer compatibility or also want your campaign progress to travel between platforms. If you want cross-progression, sign in with the Microsoft account specified by the game and keep that account consistent across platforms.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The game does not appear in search
- Confirm the spelling and search the full title, including Reloaded.
- Check the live catalog while signed in to the correct country or region.
- Look for the store button and verify that your intended store is listed.
- Update or reload the GeForce NOW app, then search again.
- If the title remains absent, treat regional catalog availability as the cause rather than attempting to add an unsupported local copy.
The game appears, but GeForce NOW says you do not own it
- Open the connected-store settings and inspect the signed-in email or account name.
- Switch to the account that actually purchased the game.
- Run library synchronization again.
- Check that you selected the same store version shown by the GeForce NOW catalog.
- Do not assume a Game Pass entitlement on Xbox Cloud Gaming satisfies a different GeForce NOW store check.
The session launches but video is blurry or stutters
Check bandwidth and latency first. Move from congested Wi-Fi to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, stop competing traffic, and reduce the stream-quality target if necessary. A local GPU upgrade will not correct packet loss between your device and NVIDIA’s data center.
Input is missing or delayed
Reconnect the controller at the operating-system level, close other applications that may capture input, and relaunch the session. On television, iPhone and iPad, verify that a supported gamepad is paired because NVIDIA requires one on those device categories. On desktop, test both the game’s keyboard-and-mouse bindings and controller mapping.

Progress does not appear on another platform
Check whether you are using the same Microsoft account everywhere. Cross-play can work without that account, but Xbox identifies Microsoft-account sign-in as the requirement for cross-progression. Starting a session through a different store or account can also lead to a separate save context.
Release and price context
Xbox Wire lists August 26, 2025 as the game’s release date and a $39.99 suggested retail price at launch. That price is historical launch pricing, not a current universal price. Store discounts, regional currencies, editions and subscription access can change the amount you see. GeForce NOW membership charges are separate from the game purchase unless the particular store or service explicitly includes access.

For most desktop users who already own a supported PC-store copy, the shortest path is to connect that store in GeForce NOW and launch the catalog entry. For TV, iPhone or iPad play, plan around the required gamepad and the platform’s current client limits. For Xbox Cloud Gaming, follow Xbox’s separate entitlement path instead of treating it as a GeForce NOW mode.
