Exchange is a small three-lane Strike map in Avalon. The safest way to read it is by sightlines: Deli is exposed and connects the routes, Terrace is narrow with little cover, and the southern Seafood–Butcher lane offers more ways to break line of sight. Activision’s map guide, published August 1, 2025, recommends using cover and exits deliberately rather than crossing open ground without a plan.
How Exchange is laid out
Activision describes Exchange as a marketplace where a Pantheon mole meets a contact, and calls it a tight three-lane Strike map. The three routes are not equally forgiving: their cover, width, and exposure differ, so choosing a lane should depend on where opponents can see you and whether you have a way out.

How to cross or hold Deli
Deli is the central tactical junction, but open routes leave it vulnerable to multiple sightlines. Activision’s advice is to approach the edges rather than walk straight into the exposed center: use a corner, work around the outer counters, and decide where you will move next before committing to a hold.

- Crossing: Use a corner or perimeter route to limit the angles opponents can cover at once.
- Holding: Treat the outer counters as temporary cover, not a guarantee of safety. Keep an escape route available if pressure arrives from another lane.
- Extended defense: Activision says a Trophy System may help during a prolonged hold. That is a situational recommendation, not a promise that the position will remain secure.
Molotovs are another official suggestion: use one to temporarily deny the narrow path between Deli and Terrace or a tight stall. This can interrupt a push or buy time to reposition, but the guide does not claim it will reliably secure an elimination.
Choosing a lane and using its cover
Fruit Stall to the middle
The west-side pavement is exposed, so avoid treating the Fruit Stall spawn area as a safe place to linger. Activision recommends using the stand’s split design to manage threats arriving from the sides. When moving inward, account for the view opponents may have across the open ground.

Terrace
Terrace is the most confined route described in the guide. Its boxes at the ends and central food stand are limited cover; indented corners can hide an opponent, but the same tight spacing can make a mistake difficult to recover from. Check corners before pushing and avoid assuming that the food stand blocks every angle.

Seafood & Butcher
The southern connection gives more opportunities to step out of the main line of sight than Terrace. The roll-up door provides a view toward Deli, while the broken window can expose players as they leave. Activision suggests traps or mines around the Seafood–Deli crossing; it also names Shadow as a counter to enemy traps. Consider those options when expecting a predictable crossing rather than treating them as mandatory equipment.

Bar and the eastern approach
At the Bar, the center display can provide cover along the long interior, and the rear exit offers a way to disengage. The guide also identifies the dumpster, the low Terrace wall, and food crates as positions from which to attack or advance. Near the open ground between Bar and Fruit Stall, backing toward the map border can force an opponent to engage at longer range. That may suit a weapon or situation that favors distance; it is not a universal rule.

Activision presents three example setups. They are templates to adapt, not evidence of a current best build or weapon ranking. Weapon balance can change, and the Exchange guide does not provide comparative performance statistics.

The named items are the examples in the official map guide, not a guarantee that every item remains optimal in the current game balance. Choose equipment to match the route you expect to use: for example, a denial tool may be useful for a narrow crossing, while smoke may help obscure a move through exposed ground.

Activision’s Black Ops 6 multiplayer guide, published October 23, 2024, says Strike maps appear in Face Off 6v6 and explains that the Minimap shows the nearby area while the Tac Map shows the whole map. In objective modes, markers show neutral, friendly, and enemy control; the compass supplies cardinal direction and your current location name. Use these tools to check which lane needs attention and give teammates a location callout rather than relying on a vague “over there.” These are general Black Ops 6 mechanics, not Exchange-only features.
Activision’s multiplayer guide identifies Face Off 6v6, while its launch overview describes Strike maps as designed for Face Off 6v6 or 2v2. What the official guide does not establish
The Exchange map article offers qualitative route advice, but no map dimensions, engagement-time measurements, win rates, or weapon rankings. Its loadouts and tactical suggestions should therefore be read as Activision’s recommendations for the map, not proof of a statistically superior strategy.
