As of October 16, 2026, you can play the free Epic Seven Steam demo, but the full Steam release is still scheduled for October 29, 2026. Install the demo from its Steam page, sign in with the required STOVE account, and treat all demo progress as temporary. If you already play Epic Seven with an email or Simple Login account, use the official transfer process to move it to a Simple Login (Steam) account before starting the Steam version. The published PC target is 64-bit Windows 10 or later, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060-class graphics card, DirectX 11 and 10 GB of storage at minimum.
Epic Seven on Steam: what is available now
The Steam rollout has two distinct stages:
- Steam demo: available now; its Steam release date is October 8, 2026.
- Full Steam game: listed as free to play with a planned release date of October 29, 2026. The full listing still says the game is not yet available as of October 16.
That distinction matters because the demo is a preview environment, not an early start to the persistent game. Steam states that demo character data will be reset when full service begins and will not carry over. Demo events run separately, and content such as Guild War and World Arena is excluded from the preview.

Steam also identifies STOVE as a required third-party account and says it supports linking a STOVE account with a Steam account. You therefore need both the Steam installation and a compatible STOVE login.

The Steam listing publishes the following requirements. They are pre-release specifications, so check the live listing again when the full game launches.

The 10 GB figure is the space stated by the listing, not a guarantee that future patches will never require additional room. Leave some headroom for updates and for Windows’ temporary installation files. A computer that meets only the minimum may run the game, but the listing does not promise a particular frame rate or visual setting.
How to install and try the Steam demo
- Open the official Epic Seven Demo page in Steam. Confirm that you are looking at the demo listing rather than a wish-list page for the unreleased full game.
- Select “Install Demo.” Steam will ask where to install it and will download the preview to your chosen library. Make sure the selected drive has at least the published 10 GB requirement available.
- Launch the demo from Steam. Use Steam’s Play button after the download completes. The demo listing requires a STOVE account, so the first run will take you through the STOVE sign-in or account-creation requirement.
- Link the accounts when prompted. Steam says STOVE supports linking to a Steam account. Use the STOVE identity you intend to keep for the full service rather than creating several test accounts.
- Play the preview, but do not treat its save as permanent. Character data and event progress are reset when full service starts. Guild War and World Arena are not part of the demo, and demo events are separate from the full game’s events.
What the demo is good for
The preview lets you check that the Steam client launches on your PC, that your STOVE sign-in works, and that the game is comfortable to run with your hardware and network setup. It is also a way to learn the opening interface before launch. It is not a way to reserve a character roster, event rewards or other progress for October 29.
What will not carry over
Steam explicitly says demo-created character data will be reset and will not carry into full service. Do not spend money or significant time in the demo on the assumption that its account state becomes your launch account. The safest approach is to use the demo for technical testing and familiarization only.
Can an existing Epic Seven account be used on Steam?
Yes, but existing players should complete the official account-transfer flow instead of assuming that installing through Steam will automatically open the correct save. The official Steam FAQ says accounts that currently use an email login or a Simple Login (SNS) account can be transferred to a Simple Login (Steam) account.

The announcement says the transfer is available at any time rather than during a separate, limited application window. It also says the transferred account remains usable in the STOVE PC client and the mobile version. That means the transfer is intended to preserve access across the supported Epic Seven clients, not to lock the account permanently to Steam.
Existing-account transfer checklist
- Identify the account you actually use. Before opening Steam, determine whether your current Epic Seven save is attached to an email login or a Simple Login (SNS) identity. If you have more than one login, record which one contains your heroes, equipment and server.
- Read the current official account-linking FAQ. Use the instructions published for the live service. The available announcement confirms the supported conversion but does not establish a fixed set of menu labels, so do not rely on an old screenshot or an unofficial click path.
- Complete the conversion to Simple Login (Steam). Follow the FAQ’s current prompts while signed in to the account that owns your existing save. Finish the process before you begin a new Steam session.
- Sign in through Steam with the linked identity. When Epic Seven asks for STOVE authentication, use the STOVE account associated with the completed transfer, not a newly created account.
- Check the result before investing time. Confirm that the expected account information and server or world appear in game. The reviewed official pages do not document a dedicated verification screen, so use the information displayed by the game itself and stop if it does not match your intended save.
Why installing first can be confusing
A Steam installation can open a valid, empty or newly created STOVE identity just as readily as it opens your established account. Seeing the game launch successfully therefore does not prove that the correct save is loaded. Account identity and server selection are separate checks from whether the client installed correctly.
How to start the full Steam version on launch
When the full listing changes from “planned” to available, the installation path is straightforward:
- Open the official Epic Seven full-game listing in Steam.
- Use the listing’s install or download control. Steam marks the game as free to play.
- Choose the Steam library and drive where you want the approximately 10 GB installation.
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading and applying any launch-day update.
- Press Play, complete the STOVE sign-in, and use the linked Simple Login (Steam) identity if you transferred an existing account.
- Verify the account and server or world shown in game before making purchases, joining a guild or spending time on progression.
The planned date is October 29, 2026, but release schedules can change. If the listing still shows a future date or no install button, the full service has not opened for your Steam account yet. The demo remains a separate product with a resettable data set.

Steam or the STOVE PC client?
Both routes are official ways to run the PC version, but they differ in how you install and authenticate. The available material does not establish a difference in game content or performance, so choose based on account continuity and convenience rather than assuming one client renders the game better.

If your priority is access through a Steam library and Steam’s launcher, use the Steam listing. If you already manage Epic Seven through STOVE and do not need Steam integration, the STOVE client offers a direct installation path. An existing account can continue to be used in the STOVE PC client and mobile version after the announced transfer to Simple Login (Steam).
First-launch checklist
- Release state: Make sure you know whether you are opening the temporary demo or the full game. The demo’s reset warning applies even if you have linked Steam correctly.
- Correct STOVE identity: Confirm the email or social-login identity before accepting a new account prompt.
- Correct server or world: Check the in-game selection or account information before starting progression.
- Hardware: Verify 64-bit Windows 10 or later, the processor and GPU class, DirectX 11 support, 8 GB RAM minimum, and at least 10 GB free storage.
- Storage headroom: Keep additional free space for patches and temporary files rather than filling the drive to exactly 10 GB.
- Account recovery: Keep access to the STOVE credentials used for the transfer. Steam installation does not replace the underlying STOVE account.
Troubleshooting common Steam problems
The demo opens, but my old account is missing
Do not create more characters while trying random logins. Close the game, identify the email or Simple Login account that contains your established save, and review the official transfer FAQ. The supported path is conversion to Simple Login (Steam); simply installing the demo does not merge unrelated accounts.

Stop before spending currency or making irreversible choices. Recheck the server or world displayed by the game and the STOVE identity currently signed in. If the account details do not match, return to the official account instructions rather than attempting a second transfer based on an unverified menu sequence.

I expected demo progress to continue at launch
That expectation conflicts with the Steam demo notice. Demo character data resets and does not carry over when full service begins. There is no supported way in the published information to turn the demo save into permanent launch progress.
Steam says a STOVE account is required
This is an intended requirement, not an installation error. Create or sign in to a STOVE account and complete the Steam linking prompt. If you already have an Epic Seven account, use that account’s official transfer instructions instead of creating a second identity.
The full game has no install button
Check the date and listing status. The full Steam game is planned for October 29, 2026, and the listing can remain unavailable until the release is enabled. You can install the demo while waiting, but its data is temporary.

Compare the machine with the published minimums: 64-bit Windows 10 or later, Intel i5 or higher, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or higher, DirectX 11 and 10 GB storage. The listing does not provide a supported workaround for systems below those specifications. Freeing storage may solve a space warning, but it cannot substitute for unsupported operating-system, processor or graphics requirements.

The STOVE client and Steam client both work, but I am unsure which to keep
There is no published evidence here that one client has different content or performance. Keep the client that fits your launch method and account habits. Whichever you choose, use the same verified STOVE identity and server, and remember that the announced transfer leaves the account usable in the STOVE PC client and mobile version.
What to expect from the October 29 launch
The most important preparation is account preparation, not hardware shopping. The game is free to play, and the official installation guidance does not say that you need new peripherals, repair tools or other physical equipment. Make sure your Windows installation, graphics drivers and available storage are ready, but do not infer a mandatory hardware purchase from the requirements alone.
Availability by country or server region is not established by the published information. If the Steam listing is unavailable in your location, check the live listing and official account information for your region instead of assuming that the global planned date applies identically everywhere.
The Steam listing also carries publisher-provided copy claiming 20 million players worldwide. That is a statement in the listing, not an independently audited player count, and it does not change the installation or transfer steps.
Bottom line
Install the Steam demo now if you want to test the client, but treat its characters and events as disposable. For the full game planned on October 29, 2026, prepare an existing email or Simple Login account through the official transfer process to Simple Login (Steam), then verify the account and server before progressing. A compatible 64-bit Windows PC with at least 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060-class GPU and 10 GB of free storage meets the listing’s minimum target.
