Yes, Enderal can be played in VR, but not by launching the regular Steam release in a headset. The community-made Enderal VR patch runs Enderal SE content through the Skyrim VR engine and requires Skyrim VR plus a specific set of mods. It is unofficial, and its published instructions are tied to Enderal SE 2.0.11.
How the Enderal VR setup works
Enderal’s regular Steam Special Edition release is based on Skyrim SE. The patch author says it cannot be used with Skyrim SE or the Steam Enderal SE release. Instead, the documented method combines a Skyrim VR installation with Enderal SE content and a community patch. Buying or launching Enderal SE by itself does not provide a VR mode.

- PC VR equipment: The documented instructions say to switch on the headset and controllers before starting the game. The sources do not verify compatibility for every headset, PC, runtime, or controller setup.

- Start with a clean Skyrim VR installation and create a fresh Mod Organizer 2 instance in Skyrim VR mode.
- Install SKSE VR into the Skyrim VR folder.
- Add Enderal SE 2.0.11 through MO2, following the patch page’s instructions for doing so without the specified SSE requirements.
- Install SkyUI VR, JContainers VR, MoreHUD VR, and Skyrim VR Tools in the MO2 setup. The patch page also lists VR Address Library among its requirements.
- Install the Enderal VR patch.
- Switch on the headset and controllers before launching the game; the instructions warn that the game will not start if they are off.

Version limits and likely issues
The Nexus Mods page lists patch version 3.3 and a last update of May 15, 2022. Its changelog refers to Enderal 2.0.11 and includes quest, animation, and scene fixes. Those details describe the page’s stated scope; they do not confirm compatibility with every newer Enderal release or establish that the patch is currently maintained.

The author reports fixing many bugs encountered when using Enderal with the Skyrim VR engine, but does not promise a bug-free playthrough or provide a comprehensive current compatibility list. The available documentation does not establish that every quest, character form, third-party mod, or hardware configuration will work without issues. Treat the setup as a community configuration with version-specific instructions, not as an officially supported or universally compatible mode.
