Therefore, do not follow a generic “install Destiny 1 on PC” tutorial unless it points to a current, project-controlled announcement that explicitly confirms public access. A video, a private test, a Discord server, or a screenshot can show development activity without giving the public a legal or working client.

How to check whether V4NGUARD is publicly playable
Project status can change, so use this checklist immediately before downloading anything:
- Find the project’s current official announcement channel. Start from a project-controlled page or community account linked from its current listing, not from a re-uploaded video description.
- Look for an explicit public-release statement. The announcement should say that ordinary players can obtain and run a build, not merely that testing, server development, or demonstrations are occurring.

Client and ownership
The project should state whether it distributes a new client, modifies files supplied by the player, or connects an original game installation to replacement services. It should explain what ownership evidence is required and which files may legally be redistributed.
