Demon Bluff is a single-player digital deduction card game. You investigate a corrupted village, reveal character cards, use their information and abilities, identify the hidden Evil characters, and execute them. Villagers and Outcasts can help you; Demons and Minions can disguise themselves as helpful roles and feed you false, wrong, or nonfunctional information.
The safest way to play is to treat every claim as evidence rather than proof. Compare several characters, record contradictions, protect your limited health, and act only when the evidence for a target is stronger than the risk of being wrong. The developer’s overview describes a 10-health pool and 5 damage for a mistake, but those figures may reflect an earlier build, so verify them in the current game or demo.

What Demon Bluff is—and what it is not
Demon Bluff is a digital, single-player social-deduction roguelike card game developed by UmiArt and published by offbrand games. Its setting is a village corrupted by hidden demons. You are not playing against a table of human opponents, and you do not need a physical deck, printed role cards, or a special peripheral. The game presents each character as a card and asks you to solve a deduction problem inside a changing run.

Helpful characters can reveal facts or provide abilities that make other cards easier to judge. Evil characters can present themselves as Villagers, claim a Good role, and supply information that is false, wrong, or unusable. A card’s stated identity is therefore part of the puzzle, not a guarantee that the card is safe.

The full Steam listing describes randomized village runs, a deckbuilding mode in which you draft a deck for a multipart run, endless mode, and challenges. It advertises more than 100 unique character cards in the full game. The official demo, released May 27, 2026, advertises more than 40 unique cards and is presented as free.
The basic rules

The rules are intentionally information-driven. You are not simply matching a visual symbol or selecting every card that claims to be a Demon. You must decide which statements deserve trust, which can be corroborated, and which are likely part of an Evil bluff.
Roles and terminology
Villagers
Villagers are helpful cards. Their information or abilities can give you a starting point for understanding the village, testing another character’s claim, or narrowing the location of Evil. A Villager card is useful evidence, but the role label alone is not proof that the card is truthful: an Evil character may disguise itself as a Villager.
Outcasts
Outcasts are also described as helpful cards with information or abilities. They belong to the useful side of the investigation, yet their exact relationship to individual characters and their complete ability list are not established by the available official descriptions. Treat an Outcast’s contribution according to what its card actually tells you in the current run rather than assuming a universal power.
Demons
Demons are the hidden primary Evil characters. Finding and slaying them is the reason you investigate the village. A Demon can appear to be a Villager and can therefore contaminate your deductions if you accept its statements without comparison.
Minions
Minions are Evil-aligned deceivers. The official descriptions specifically say that Minions can pose as Villagers and mislead the player. This means a run can contain more than one kind of hostile card: a character may be working against you even when it is not the Demon you are trying to locate.
Good and Evil
The developer’s overview uses Good and Evil as broad faction terms. Good roles are the helpful side of the investigation; Evil roles bluff as Good roles and lie. The available descriptions do not provide a complete, current, role-by-role ability catalogue, so any detailed list found elsewhere should be checked against the card text in your build.

How a village run works
The exact interface can change between builds, but the official descriptions support the following general sequence.
- Reveal character cards. Start by examining the cards available in the village. Read the role claim, the information offered, and any ability text rather than relying on the character’s name or appearance.
- Collect information. Use helpful cards to learn about other characters or to activate their unique abilities. The purpose of an ability is not merely to produce another label; it is to give you a fact that can be compared with the rest of the village.
- Separate claims from evidence. A card may claim to be a Villager or another Good role. Record that claim, but keep it distinct from information that independently points to the card’s alignment.
- Cross-check the village. Compare what several cards reveal. A statement that agrees with unrelated information is stronger than an isolated assertion. Contradictions are valuable because at least one of the claims involved may be false, wrong, or nonfunctional.
- Form a target hypothesis. Decide which cards are most likely to be Evil and why. Include both direct evidence and the reliability of the card providing it.
- Execute when the evidence is strong enough. The stated objective is to execute the hidden Evil characters. Do not treat execution as a casual way to gather information: mistakes cost health according to the developer overview, and the current build may use different numbers.
- Reassess after each result. An execution can confirm or undermine earlier assumptions. Update your view of the remaining cards instead of continuing with the same theory automatically.
This is a deduction loop rather than a reflex test. The best play is usually not the fastest click; it is the decision that leaves you with the most reliable information while exposing you to the least avoidable damage.
How to find the demons
Start with information, not role names
When a card says it is a Villager, treat that as a hypothesis. Ask what the card has actually demonstrated. An ability that reveals another character, a statement that can be checked against a second source, or a result that remains consistent after an execution is more useful than a bare role claim.
Compare multiple sources
The strongest practical method supported by the game’s design is triangulation: gather information from several characters and compare it. If two independent-looking cards agree, confidence increases. If one card conflicts with several others, investigate the conflict before choosing a target. Do not assume that the majority is automatically correct; a Minion can create a coordinated-looking story, and a helpful card’s information may be wrong or nonfunctional according to the developer’s warning about Evil deception.

A contradiction does not instantly identify a Demon. It identifies a group of possibilities: one speaker may be Evil, one ability may have failed, or one interpretation may be wrong. Mark every conflicting statement, then look for a second fact that can distinguish those cases. This prevents you from executing the first card that sounds suspicious while overlooking the card that caused the contradiction.
Track reliability separately from alignment
Keep two questions separate: “What faction is this card?” and “How dependable is this particular piece of information?” A Good card can provide limited or confusing information, while an Evil card may accidentally reveal something useful while bluffing. Separating alignment from reliability helps you avoid treating an uncertain statement as proof of innocence.
Test the most informative uncertainty
When several cards remain plausible, prioritize the card or ability that can resolve the largest number of possibilities. An action that distinguishes between two competing explanations is usually more valuable than one that merely confirms a theory you already favor. The sources do not document a fixed ability order, so apply this as a decision principle to the text and results shown in your current run.

Winning strategies that fit the game’s rules
Protect your mistake budget
The developer’s overview describes 10 health and 5 damage per mistake, which would leave very little room for random executions. Because those figures may not be current, first check the health display and damage behavior in your version. Whatever the numbers are, treat health as an investigation budget: every uncertain execution can reduce the number of future tests you can survive.

Use a simple written or mental table with one line per card:
- Claim: the role the character says it has.
- Observed information: the fact or result the card provides.
- Corroboration: which other cards support or challenge that result.
- Reliability: confirmed, plausible, contradicted, or unresolved.
- Current alignment hypothesis: likely Good, likely Evil, or unknown.
This prevents a persuasive early statement from becoming an unexamined assumption several turns later. It also makes it easier to revisit a card after a contradiction or execution.
Do not execute solely because a card is quiet
Some cards may provide less useful information than others. Lack of help is not the same as proof of Evil. Use the card’s stated behavior, the quality of its information, and its relationship to other claims. A Minion may actively mislead, but a quiet or ambiguous card still needs supporting evidence before you spend a mistake on it.
Look for information that fails in a pattern
The overview says Evil information can be false, wrong, or nonfunctional. A single bad result may have several explanations. Repeated failures that consistently protect one card, create the same contradiction, or undermine a particular line of reasoning are more suspicious than one isolated error. Record the pattern before acting.
Recalculate after every execution
Once a target is executed, revisit every statement that depended on it. If the result confirms your theory, increase confidence in the supporting chain but do not automatically clear every related card. If it contradicts your theory, identify the earliest assumption that failed and rebuild from the remaining evidence.
Use a conservative endgame
As the number of unresolved cards shrinks, each remaining claim matters more. Avoid turning a close endgame into a guess because only two cards look suspicious. Compare the evidence that points to each candidate, account for possible Minion deception, and choose the execution with the strongest complete explanation of the village.

Adapt to randomization
The store listing describes randomized village runs, so a memorized sequence will not reliably solve every village. Build transferable habits instead: read every card, identify what can be checked, note contradictions, and preserve enough health to investigate the final uncertainty. Randomization rewards a method more than a fixed answer key.
Draft for information in deckbuilding mode
The listing also describes a deckbuilding mode in which you draft a deck for a multipart run. The available description does not specify the complete drafting rules or the exact effect of every card, so do not assume that a generally powerful character is always the best pick. Favor a deck that gives you multiple ways to obtain and cross-check information, then adjust your choices to the card text and constraints shown in your version.

The card totals are product claims from the respective Steam listings, not independent measurements. A larger card pool generally means more variety, but it does not by itself tell you how many cards appear in one village or how often a particular role is drawn.
Release timing and availability
Official pages give different launch windows. The main Steam store listing says October 2026. A Steam Community announcement dated October 8, 2026 says the game will launch in November 2026. Because the November announcement is newer, it is the latest announced window available here, but neither source supplies an exact launch day. Check the current Steam listing for the date and status before relying on the October estimate.
The demo’s stated release date is May 27, 2026. Its free-demo presentation makes it the appropriate place to learn the basic reveal, information, and execution loop before committing to a full run. The official descriptions do not establish whether demo progress carries into the full game.
Common mistakes and how to recover
“The card says Villager, so it must be Good.”
Why it fails: Demons and Minions can disguise themselves as Villagers.
Recovery: Reclassify the role claim as unconfirmed and seek corroborating information from another card or ability.
“One contradiction proves the speaker is a Demon.”
Why it fails: The contradiction could come from a Minion, a nonfunctional result, a wrong interpretation, or a different Evil card.
Recovery: List every explanation and gather one more distinguishing fact before executing.

The available official pages establish the factions, the investigation loop, the broad modes, and the advertised card counts. They do not establish a complete list of individual character abilities, the exact number of Demons or Minions in each run, the precise rules for endless mode or challenges, whether demo progress transfers, or the final launch day. Those details can affect optimal play. Use the current in-game card text, health display, and mode instructions rather than treating an older overview as definitive.
