A fan guide describes a browser-based port of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, but it is unofficial—and the available information does not establish that it has passed an independent security audit. You can try it cautiously on a desktop, but do not treat it as an Activision release or enter your Activision login or payment details there.
What the browser version is—and is not
The browser option is a fan project described by Zombies Browser as a port of Black Ops Zombies. The guide labels it unofficial, says the play link opens vel.gg, and states that the guide itself does not host Black Ops files. That description is not an independent verification of the port, its operator, or its security.

There is no evidence here that the browser port has been independently audited or that safe play is guaranteed. Activision’s general advice is: “Do not trust any suspicious websites or offers for in-game items such as COD Points, cosmetic items, add-ons, or other digital content.” The warning concerns suspicious offers and services generally; it is not a finding about this particular port. Activision Support’s guidance also warns that suspicious services can compromise accounts or expose personal information.
How to approach the browser port cautiously
Check the page before interacting
- Inspect the address bar and confirm you are on the intended domain before clicking through or entering any information.
- Leave if the page redirects somewhere unexpected or asks you to install an executable or browser extension to play.
- Do not enter your Activision credentials, payment details, or other sensitive information on an unofficial play page.
These are precautionary steps, not reports that the port has displayed malicious behavior.
#1 Best Overall
- A comfortable, ambidextrous shape feels good in either hand, so you feel more comfortable as you work-even at the end of the day
- With 800 dpi sensitivity, you'll get precise cursor control so you can edit documents and navigate the Web more efficiently
- Side-to-side scrolling plus zoom lets you instantly zoom in or out and scroll horizontally and vertically; perfect for working with spreadsheets and presentations.
- Zero setup with flexible connectivity means you just plug it into your USB or PS/2 port-it works right out of the box
- This mouse is built by Logitech-the mouse experts; it comes with the quality and design we've built into more than a billion mice, more than any other manufacturer
Use a compatible desktop setup
The fan guide says the port is for desktop browsers and uses a keyboard and mouse. It lists 64-bit Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, with WebGL2 and GPU acceleration enabled. It also states that the game needs a 1.5 GiB heap and that the first load of each map downloads several hundred megabytes, which are cached in browser storage. These are the guide’s operational claims, last checked there on October 10, 2026—not independently tested requirements. See the fan guide for its current instructions.
Choose the route that fits what you want to play
| Option | What you get | Access and status | What is established |
|---|---|---|---|
| Browser port described by Zombies Browser | Fan port of the original Black Ops Zombies | Desktop browser; the guide specifies keyboard and mouse | Unofficial. No independent security audit or safety guarantee is established. |
| Call of Duty: Black Ops on Steam | The installed PC game, with Zombies listed for solo or co-op play | PC installation; this is not browser play | Steam identifies Treyarch as developer and Activision as publisher. Price and regional availability can vary. |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming’s Call of Duty page | Cloud access to titles in the current Call of Duty catalog | Xbox describes eligibility and game-purchase conditions for access | The page does not establish that the original Black Ops Zombies is available through cloud play. |
If you want an official PC copy of the original game, Steam lists Call of Duty: Black Ops and its solo or co-op Zombies mode. That is a separate installed game, not the fan browser port. Check the Steam listing for current availability and regional details.
Rank #2
- Computer mouse for easily navigating a computer interface; click, scroll, and more
- USB-A wired connection; if existing device only supports USB-C, an additional adapter will be required
- High-definition (1000 dpi) optical tracking ensures responsive cursor control for precise tracking and easy text selection
- 3 buttons offer effortless fingertip control
- Plug-and-go ready for instant use
Do not assume mobile or cloud availability
Activision announced iOS and Android editions of Black Ops Zombies in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Those historical announcements do not confirm that the apps are currently available, so they are not a reliable current route. The 2011 iOS announcement and the 2012 Android announcement document the original releases.
Likewise, the current Xbox Call of Duty cloud page describes current catalog offerings, including newer titles, but does not list the 2010 Black Ops game. It should not be presented as a way to play this specific Zombies experience.
