Your job is to complete assigned tasks, search the ship for clues, investigate murders, decide which crewmates deserve your trust, and identify the Impostor or Impostors. The publisher advertises three unique endings.
Availability needs a date-qualified answer. Innersloth’s current game page says the title is planned for PC through Steam. A June 5, 2026 announcement also discussed Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 plans, but those were announcement-era plans. The announced Steam demo ran from June 15 through June 22, 2026 and has ended. The official material available for this guide does not confirm the full game’s launch date, current price, or whether the demo returned, so check the current Innersloth page or Steam listing before trying to buy or download it.

What kind of game is Among Us Story: On Guard?
On Guard is not a standard round of the original multiplayer social-deduction game. It is a solo, story-led investigation set in the Among Us universe. You receive the Guard role and work through a security crisis aboard a ship represented as a MIRA Research & Development crewmate-training simulation.

#1 Best Overall
- Crewmate Edition Includes: See description below for complete details
- Life as a Crewmate: Complete all your tasks on the ship to win but watch out for Impostors. Report dead bodies and call emergency meetings to vote the Impostors out. Hope you chose correctly
- Play as an Impostor: Cause chaos, sneak around, and frame innocent bystanders. Winning involves killing off every Crewmate - think you’re a master of sabotage
- Customization: Choose how you want to play. Add more impostors, tasks, decrease visibility and more. All in style as you get to choose your favorite color, outfit, and hat
- Cross-platform: Play with your friends between PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS
- Complete tasks that advance the mission.
- Explore the ship and inspect its spaces.
- Find clues connected to the incidents on board.
- Investigate murders rather than relying on a single accusation.
- Decide which crewmates can be trusted.
- Identify the Impostor or Impostors.
That structure makes the game closer to a playable mystery than to a conventional match-based session. The important distinction is that your actions are part of a continuing narrative. Finishing work is not merely a score-building activity; Innersloth says tasks help move the mission forward and reveal clues.
Check access before you plan a playthrough
Platform and release information has changed from announcement language to current store information, so treat each statement according to its date.
| Information | What is established | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Innersloth’s current game page says the title will be available on PC via Steam. | Use the current Steam listing for the live release state, system requirements, price and download option. |
| Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 | Discussed as planned platforms in the June 5, 2026 reveal. | Do not assume either version is available until an up-to-date Nintendo store page or publisher announcement confirms it. |
| Steam demo | Announced for June 15–22, 2026. | That window has passed. The available official information does not establish a later demo period. |
| Price and full launch status | Not confirmed by the official material used here. | Check the live store listing immediately before purchase; do not rely on the reveal-era announcement. |
If the game does not appear in your regional store, that does not by itself prove cancellation. Store visibility can depend on release timing, region and platform certification. Look for a current publisher announcement or the platform’s own listing rather than downloading an unofficial copy.

How to begin playing on PC
- Open the current Steam listing. Search for the exact title, “Among Us Story: On Guard,” and verify that the publisher is Innersloth before downloading anything.
- Read the listing’s live status. Confirm whether it says released, coming soon, demo, or another state. The June 2026 demo announcement is historical and should not be treated as a current download link.
- Check the requirements shown on the listing. The official information available for this guide does not state processor, memory, graphics or storage requirements, so use the current store page for those figures.
- Install and launch through Steam. The game is designed as a single-player experience, so you do not need a matchmaking lobby or a group of friends to start the story.
- Use the opening section to learn the interaction rules. Because no verified control map or puzzle walkthrough has been published in the official sources reviewed, follow the prompts presented by your own version rather than relying on a generic Among Us control guide.
For a console release, apply the same verification rule: use the current Nintendo store page for the appropriate system, edition and release state. The announcement-era platform plan is not a substitute for a live listing.
Understand the core play loop
The most reliable way to approach On Guard is to treat every assignment as part of an investigation. The publisher’s description gives the sequence at a high level, but it does not publish a room-by-room walkthrough or fixed solution list. The following method keeps your play organized without pretending that unreleased details are known.
1. Start with the task in front of you
Tasks are the clearest progression signal described by Innersloth. Complete the current objective instead of wandering indefinitely. A finished task can move the mission forward and expose information that was not available earlier.
When a task presents several actions, finish the complete interaction before leaving the area. If the game marks an objective as incomplete, return to the same station and check for a remaining step rather than assuming the task is broken.
2. Explore deliberately after progress events
Use mission changes as prompts to revisit nearby spaces. Search rooms connected to the current objective, inspect locations that become accessible, and pay attention to anything that changes after a task is completed. The official description confirms exploration and clue discovery, but it does not identify every searchable object, so examine the environment rather than following an assumed checklist from another game.

3. Record clues as evidence
Separate what you directly discover from what a character says and from what you merely suspect. A useful note can include the location, the event it relates to, the crewmates present, and whether the information is confirmed or still a lead. This prevents a strong personality or dramatic dialogue from replacing evidence.
4. Reconstruct the incident
When a murder is investigated, connect the clue to a sequence: what was supposed to happen, what actually happened, who could have known about it, and which facts remain unexplained. The game’s stated premise asks you to investigate murders and identify an Impostor, so the goal is a defensible case rather than a random vote.
5. Decide whom to trust
Trust is an explicit part of the story. Treat it as a working judgment that can change when new evidence appears. A crewmate who helps with one task is not automatically cleared, and a nervous or unhelpful character is not automatically guilty.
6. Make the investigation decision
When the narrative asks you to act, use the accumulated clues and contradictions. If the game allows you to delay a conclusion while gathering information, do so; if it requires a choice, select the option best supported by the evidence you have recorded.
How to use tasks effectively
Tasks serve two functions: they are mission objectives and they are a way to uncover the story. Completing them should therefore be your default priority, even when you are eager to chase a suspicious character.
- Finish before speculating. An unfinished task may be the reason a clue or conversation has not appeared.
- Notice state changes. A completed objective can alter the available investigation path; check nearby areas again after a major update.
- Keep a progress list. Mark each objective only when the game confirms completion, not when you first interact with it.
- Do not confuse activity with proof. A crewmate performing a task may establish what they were doing, but it does not by itself resolve the larger murder investigation.
Because official sources do not provide exact task solutions, the correct interaction order, timing and interface labels must be learned from the released build. Avoid guides that claim to list every puzzle unless they identify a verified version and source.
Build a reliable clue case
A good case has a chain of connected facts rather than one memorable suspicion. Use a simple evidence log while you play:
| Entry | What to write |
|---|---|
| Event | What happened, using the game’s wording where possible. |
| Location | Where you found the clue or received the information. |
| People involved | Which crewmates were present, mentioned or affected. |
| Certainty | Direct observation, reported statement, inference or unresolved lead. |
| Conflict | Any timeline, location or account that does not fit. |
| Next check | The task, room or conversation that could confirm or weaken the lead. |
This format is especially useful when several crewmates offer competing explanations. It also protects you from anchoring on the first suspicious detail you encounter. If a later clue contradicts an earlier assumption, update the log instead of forcing the new fact to fit.

- Life as a crewmate: complete all your tasks on the ship to win but watch out for impostors! Report Dead bodies and call emergency meetings to vote the impostors out. Hope you chose correctly!
- play as an impostor: cause chaos, sneak around, and frame innocent bystanders! Winning involves killing off every crewmate - think you're a master of sabotage?
- customisation: choose how you want to play! Add more impostors, tasks, decrease visibility and more. All in style as you get to choose your favourite colour, outfit, and Hat.

How to judge crewmate trust
Trust decisions are not the same as deciding whether someone is pleasant. Evaluate each character against the investigation:
- Opportunity: Could the crewmate reach the relevant place or event?
- Knowledge: Does the person know a detail that should be unavailable to them?
- Consistency: Does the account remain stable as new facts appear?
- Corroboration: Can another clue, task result or observation support it?
- Motive in context: Does the explanation make sense within the incident, or is motive being assumed without evidence?
Use these questions as a decision aid, not as hidden rules that the game has promised. The official material establishes the trust-and-identification premise, but it does not disclose character-specific tells or a guaranteed innocence test.
Investigating murders without a walkthrough
The official pages reviewed do not contain scene-by-scene instructions, exact puzzle answers or ending-specific choice lists. That limitation matters: a purported “complete solution” that names rooms, dialogue branches or culprit sequences cannot be verified from the published information available here.
You can still investigate methodically:
- Secure the basic facts. Identify the reported victim, location and timing as the game presents them.
- Complete related tasks. Progression may reveal additional clues, and the publisher specifically links task completion with mission advancement and clue discovery.
- Search for corroboration. Compare physical clues, statements and your own observations instead of treating one testimony as conclusive.
- Track contradictions. A mismatch can be more useful than a dramatic accusation, particularly when it can be checked through another objective.
- Reassess after each discovery. Keep earlier theories provisional until the new information either supports or undermines them.
If you become stuck, first check whether an objective remains incomplete, whether a newly available area has not been searched, or whether a conversation must be triggered by returning to a relevant location. These are general investigation habits, not claims about a specific hidden trigger.
Making the Impostor decision
On Guard asks you to identify the Impostor or Impostors, but the official description does not reveal how many are present in each scenario or how every decision is presented. Do not assume that the rules of a multiplayer match transfer unchanged to this story mode.
Before committing to a conclusion, ask:
- Which facts are directly observed?
- Which claims depend on a crewmate’s testimony?
- What evidence places a suspect at the relevant event?
- What evidence rules out an alternative explanation?
- What remains unknown, and could another task clarify it?
If the game offers more than one response or investigation route, choose according to the case you have built. A failed conclusion should be treated as information about the story’s branching structure, not as proof that every earlier clue was meaningless.

Innersloth advertises three unique endings. The official sources do not publish the conditions for reaching each one, so there is no verified choice-by-choice route to reproduce here.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo explore the branches responsibly:
- Keep a separate note of major trust judgments and final investigation decisions.
- Complete as many tasks and clue checks as the current path allows before making a decisive choice.
- After finishing, replay from an earlier save or restart point if the game provides one, changing one major decision at a time.
- Compare the resulting evidence and outcome rather than changing several decisions at once.
This approach lets you identify which decisions matter without relying on an unverified spoiler list. It also preserves the investigative purpose of the game: the route you take should follow what you discover, not just a memorized sequence.

What is still unknown
Several practical details cannot be stated as fact from the official material available for this guide:
- The full-game release date and current purchase status.
- The price in any region.
- Confirmed release timing for Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.
- System requirements and supported display or controller configurations.
- A complete control map.
- Exact puzzle solutions, room order, culprit identities and ending triggers.
- Whether the June 2026 demo has returned or been replaced by another trial.
These are not omissions you should fill with assumptions. Check the live publisher page and store listing for current commercial and technical information, and use guides tied to the exact released version if you need puzzle help later.
A practical first-session checklist
- Confirm that you are using a current, legitimate listing.
- Read the live platform, release and price information before downloading.
- Begin as Guard and follow the opening objective.
- Complete tasks fully so the mission can progress.
- Explore areas connected to new objectives.
- Record clues with their location and certainty.
- Separate observations from suspicions.
- Compare crewmate accounts for opportunity, knowledge and consistency.
- Revisit unresolved leads after each major task.
- Make investigation choices from the evidence you have, not from multiplayer habits.
- Keep notes on major decisions if you intend to pursue different endings.
Common access and play problems
The demo cannot be downloaded
The announced June 15–22, 2026 Steam demo period has ended. A missing demo button is therefore consistent with the published schedule. Look for a newer official demo announcement rather than searching for an unofficial mirror.
The store page does not show a price
The June 5 reveal said pricing had not been finalized, and the official information available here does not establish a later price. Wait for the live listing to show a region-specific amount before deciding whether to purchase.
You cannot find a console version
Switch and Switch 2 were discussed as plans in the reveal, while the current game page specifically identifies PC via Steam. Verify a current Nintendo listing before treating a console version as released.
You do not know what to do next
Check the active objective, confirm that the last task registered as complete, and search areas newly connected to the mission. Then review your clue notes for an unresolved lead. Exact triggers and puzzle solutions are not published in the official material used for this guide.
Bottom line for new players
Play On Guard as a deliberate, evidence-based investigation. You are Guard, not a multiplayer lobby participant: tasks drive progression, exploration supplies clues, murders require reconstruction, and trust decisions shape how you interpret the crewmates around you. Because release details and puzzle specifics remain version-dependent or unconfirmed, verify access through the current official listing and let the released game—not assumptions about classic Among Us—tell you how each scene works.
