Yes—on iPhone and iPad, you can play Absolum with a Bluetooth controller that is compatible with Apple’s MFi standard. Pair the gamepad in iOS or iPadOS first, then launch the game and test movement, attacks and menu input. On Android, pairing a Bluetooth gamepad is straightforward, but official Android controller support is not stated in the Playdigious material available for this release, so treat recognition as device- and build-dependent until the developer publishes explicit guidance.
What is officially supported?
The answer differs by platform. Apple’s App Store listing explicitly says Compatible with MFi controllers.
That is the clearest confirmation that an MFi-compatible Bluetooth gamepad is intended to work on iPhone and iPad. The listing also advertises a redesigned touch interface, so touch controls remain an alternative if a controller is unavailable or not recognized.

For Android, Playdigious documents operating-system, memory and graphics requirements, but the Android support information available for this release does not state native controller support, a tested Bluetooth profile or a list of compatible gamepads. Android can connect many standard Bluetooth controllers at the system level, yet that connection alone does not prove that a particular Absolum build will read every button. Pair the controller, launch the game and test it before beginning a long run.

| Platform | Published requirement | What it means for controller play |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Android 9 or later; more than 3 GB of RAM; listed low-end GPU families are excluded. | The game must install and run on the phone before Bluetooth input can be useful. Consult Playdigious’ current device information for the excluded GPU families. |
| iPhone and iPad | iOS or iPadOS 16 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later. | An eligible Apple device can use the MFi controller support advertised in the App Store listing. |
These are compatibility requirements, not performance benchmarks. No independent frame-rate, battery-life or controller-latency measurements were published with the information available for this release.
What kind of Bluetooth controller should you use?
For Apple devices, look for a gamepad whose product documentation explicitly identifies MFi compatibility. “Works with phones” is not the same statement. MFi certification is the relevant part of the iPhone and iPad listing.
For Android, choose a conventional Bluetooth mobile game controller with a documented Android input mode. Because Playdigious has not published an Android controller compatibility list, do not assume that a particular model, button layout or remapping application will work with Absolum on every phone.

Pair a Bluetooth controller before launching Absolum
The safest sequence is to connect the controller at the operating-system level first. A Bluetooth gamepad manual cited for this setup documents pairing on both iPhone/iPad and Android phones/tablets.
- Charge the controller. A low battery can prevent discovery or create intermittent input. Keep the controller close to the phone during initial pairing.
- Enter pairing mode. Use the controller’s documented Bluetooth-pairing button combination or switch. The exact command differs by controller, so follow its manual rather than guessing.
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings. Wait for the controller’s name to appear in the list of available devices.
- Select the controller and wait for a connected status. Do not start Absolum until the operating system shows the gamepad as connected.
- Avoid a second active connection. If the controller is already paired to another phone, tablet or computer, disconnect it there or place it back into pairing mode. A controller normally sends input to one active host at a time.
- Launch Absolum after pairing. Starting the game after the system connection is established gives the game the best chance to enumerate the controller at launch.
iPhone and iPad: exact setup
1. Confirm the Apple requirements
Use an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 16 or later with an A12 Bionic chip or later. If the device is below either requirement, resolve that limitation before troubleshooting Bluetooth input.

2. Pair in iOS or iPadOS
- Put the MFi-compatible controller into Bluetooth pairing mode according to its manual.
- Open Settings and choose Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on if it is off, then select the controller under the list of available devices.
- Wait until the controller appears under connected devices before leaving Settings.
3. Start the game and test it
Launch Absolum only after the connected status appears. Move through the opening screen, try directional movement, trigger an attack, test jump or dodge if those actions are available at that point, and navigate at least one menu. The purpose is to verify both gameplay buttons and menu buttons before committing to a full session.
If the controller works in iOS but not in the game, close Absolum completely, confirm that the gamepad is still connected in Settings > Bluetooth, and relaunch it. If the game exposes controller or remapping options, inspect them after the relaunch. The App Store listing’s MFi statement is platform-level guidance; it does not provide a button chart for every controller.
Android: pair first, then verify recognition
1. Confirm the Android requirements
The published Android baseline is Android 9 or newer, more than 3 GB of RAM and a GPU that is not in Playdigious’ excluded low-end families. The available Android support material does not publish a controller-support guarantee, so meeting these requirements does not by itself establish that a gamepad will work.
2. Pair through Android settings
- Put the controller into Bluetooth pairing mode using the command in its manual.
- Open the phone’s Settings app and go to the Bluetooth or connected-devices area. Android menu names vary by manufacturer and version.
- Choose the controller from the available-device list and wait for the connected state.
- If Android asks for a pairing confirmation, accept it. Keep the controller disconnected from other hosts while you complete this step.
3. Test before relying on it
Launch Absolum after Android reports the connection. Check movement, attack, dodge or jump, and menu navigation. If no input registers, do not assume that buying another controller will solve the problem: official Android guidance for this game does not yet identify a supported model or Bluetooth mode. First repeat the connection with the controller in its standard Android mode, then close and relaunch the game while the connection is active.
Run a control check before your first serious session
A short check prevents a dead input from being discovered during a difficult encounter. Use this order:

- Movement: Confirm that the left stick or directional controls move the character in more than one direction.
- Primary action: Press the face button or trigger assigned to attack and verify that the game responds immediately.
- Defensive movement: Test the button used for dodge, jump or another evasive action when the tutorial or opening area makes it available.
- Camera or secondary controls: Check any right-stick or shoulder-button functions shown by the game.
- Menus: Open a menu, move between entries, select an item and return. Some games accept gameplay input but fail to map menu navigation correctly.
- Pause and resume: Pause once, resume and confirm that the controller remains active afterward.
If every test passes, the controller is usable for that device and game build at that moment. If only some tests pass, record which buttons fail before changing settings; that makes it easier to distinguish a controller mapping issue from a connection issue.
Troubleshooting when the controller is not detected
The controller does not appear in Bluetooth settings
- Charge it and repeat the documented pairing command. Many controllers use a different command for ordinary power-on and Bluetooth discovery.
- Move it close to the phone and temporarily turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices that may reconnect to it.
- If the phone saved an old entry for the controller, use the system’s forget or remove option, put the controller back into pairing mode and pair it again.
- Make sure it is not still connected to another host. A connected status on a second device can keep it out of the available-device list.
The phone says connected, but Absolum ignores input
- Quit the game, leave the controller connected, and launch the game again. This gives the game a fresh opportunity to detect the device.
- Test the controller in the game’s menus as well as during movement. A partial mapping can point to an input-mode or button-layout issue.
- Check for an in-game controller, layout or remapping screen. If one exists, restore a default layout before creating a custom mapping.
- On Android, treat the result as unconfirmed platform compatibility because the available official material does not promise native controller support. Check Playdigious’ current support notes for later clarification rather than relying on an unofficial compatibility claim.
Input works, then stops
- Check the controller’s charge and keep the phone within normal Bluetooth range.
- Look for another device attempting to reconnect to the same controller.
- Pause the game, verify the operating system still shows the controller as connected, then resume. If the connection has dropped, reconnect it and relaunch Absolum if the game does not recover input.
Buttons do the wrong actions
Different controllers can present face buttons and triggers differently. If Absolum offers remapping, use its default layout first and change only the buttons you can verify. If no remapping screen is available, the game’s published material does not provide a universal button map; avoid assuming that a layout shown for one controller applies to another.
The controller is inconvenient with a phone
A phone mount can shift the center of gravity, and a heavy handset can make a long session tiring. Check that the mount does not press the phone’s side buttons, cover a speaker or interfere with a charging port. If the mounted setup feels unstable, use the controller beside the phone on a stand instead. These are ergonomic choices, not indicators of whether Absolum recognizes the controller.
Touch controls remain a fallback
The iOS/iPadOS listing advertises a redesigned touch interface. That gives Apple players a way to continue playing if the gamepad battery is empty, the controller is being used by another device or a particular Android-style input mode is not recognized. A controller connection is optional for touch play; disconnecting the gamepad before launching can help isolate whether a control problem comes from Bluetooth or from the game’s own touch layout.
Release timing and purchase requirement
Playdigious stated that the mobile version would be available on November 5, 2026. Android registration and an iOS pre-order were available when the support page was crawled. Availability can differ by store region and can change around release, so check the relevant store listing for your account and country.

What is and is not established about Android controllers
It is established that Android phones meeting the stated software, memory and GPU requirements can be considered for the mobile game. It is also established that Android phones and tablets can be paired with a Bluetooth gamepad through system settings. What is not established in the available official material is that every paired controller will be recognized by Absolum, which Bluetooth input modes have been tested, or which Android phone models have been certified for controller play.
That distinction matters when deciding whether to buy a controller specifically for Android Absolum. Prefer a gamepad with a return policy, test it immediately after installing the game, and retain touch controls as a fallback until the game responds consistently through a complete session. No independent controller-latency or performance benchmark is available to rank one Android setup above another.
Pre-session checklist
- Your phone meets the platform requirements listed above.
- The controller is charged and in its documented pairing mode.
- The phone’s Bluetooth screen shows the controller as connected.
- No second phone, tablet or computer is actively connected to the gamepad.
- Absolum was launched after pairing.
- Movement, attack, defensive movement and menu navigation have all been tested.
- You know how to return to touch controls if the connection drops.
For iPhone and iPad, an MFi-compatible Bluetooth controller is the supported path described by the App Store listing. For Android, the practical procedure is the same—pair in system settings, launch afterward and test—but controller recognition remains dependent on the specific device and game build until Playdigious publishes explicit Android support details.
