If you’re travelling from Lahore to Faisalabad, don’t assume trains are still suspended—or running—based on an old report. Pakistan Railways suspended passenger and freight service on the section after flood damage in late July 2026, but that dated news does not establish the status for your travel date. Check your train through Pakistan Railways’ booking service or call 117; if rail is unavailable, compare confirmed bus departures with driving and check road conditions near departure.
Check whether your train is running on your date
On July 28, 2026, Dawn reported that Pakistan Railways had suspended passenger and freight operations on the Lahore–Faisalabad section after floodwater damaged bridge infrastructure, including near Qila Sattar Shah. Dawn’s report describes the disruption at that time; it is not a current operating notice. The Express Tribune also reported temporary cancellations on July 28. Its report likewise does not confirm today’s service.

The Punjab Transport Department directory lists operators including Daewoo Express, Faisal Movers, Road Master, Skyways, Niazi Express, Kohistan Express, Rajput Travels and Bilal Travels. The directory is a list of providers, not confirmation that any one of them operates a Lahore–Faisalabad trip on your date.
#1 Best Overall
Check at least two operators directly and compare the details that affect the whole journey:
- Whether a Lahore–Faisalabad service is available on your date, and whether it is direct or connecting.
- Departure and arrival terminal addresses, plus how you will reach each terminal from your starting point and onward destination.
- Departure time, fare and seat availability.
- Luggage limits and cancellation or refund terms.
Do not choose on ticket price alone: a terminal far from your destination or a connection can change the practical convenience of the trip.
Rank #2
Assess driving and check the roads close to departure
Faisalabad’s district government describes access via GT Road and motorway connections, including M3 linking to M2 through Pindi Bhattian. It also describes M4 toward Multan. The district route information provides corridor context, not turn-by-turn directions from your particular Lahore address. Use a current mapping service to plan your actual trip.

For live motorway and highway conditions, check the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) advisory shortly before leaving. Conditions can change; recheck if your departure is delayed or the weather shifts, and allow buffer time for a closure or diversion.

- Used Book in Good Condition
Compare driving with a bus on door-to-door time, flexibility, fuel and toll costs, parking, and driver fatigue. No current journey-time measurement, fare, toll amount or operator ranking is established here, so verify the figures for your route and date rather than relying on a fixed estimate.
Quick Recap
Make a short, date-specific plan
- Verify rail: Check your exact train and date in the Pakistan Railways booking service or call 117.
- Confirm alternatives: If rail is unavailable, contact bus operators directly for a confirmed service, terminals, fare, seat, luggage and cancellation details.
- Choose the road option: If driving, map the route for your actual addresses and check the NHMP advisory near departure.
- Arrange both ends: Plan local transport to the Lahore departure point and from the Faisalabad arrival terminal to your destination.
- Keep essentials accessible: Save your ticket and the operator’s contact details. If you rely on a phone for navigation or live updates, make sure it remains charged.
