Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI
Google Play India documents UPI for subscriptions and UPI AutoPay for recurring subscriptions, including YouTube Premium. PhonePe and Google Pay are UPI apps, but select one only if it appears as an available option in your checkout.

- Open YouTube or Google Play while signed in to the Google account for the subscription, and begin the YouTube Premium purchase.
- Review the amount, renewal terms, and billing platform shown at checkout.
- If UPI is offered, select it and choose the available UPI app or payment route. If PhonePe or Google Pay is shown, select your preferred app.
- Complete the approval in that UPI app. For a recurring plan, read the UPI AutoPay mandate details and approve the mandate if you want the subscription to renew automatically.
- Return to YouTube or Google Play and confirm that the subscription is active. If checkout does not offer the UPI app you expected, use another displayed payment method or check the billing platform for that purchase.
Google Play India’s payment-method help page says netbanking was discontinued as an accepted Google Play method from October 2025 until further notice. Payment methods can change, so check the current checkout and help page rather than relying on an old list.

Use UPI for Google Cloud server billing in India
Google Cloud UPI billing is not a universal personal-account payment option. Google’s guidance limits it to qualified organizations in India paying in INR; it requires an Indian billing address and bank account and a configured, registered UPI account. Google also says an initial prepayment, typically ₹500–₹1,000, is required before UPI can be used. The stated prepayment is a setup requirement, not a quote for ongoing server costs.
- Check that the Cloud Billing account is for an organization that meets Google’s India and INR eligibility conditions.
- Make sure the billing profile has the required Indian address and bank account, and configure a registered UPI account.
- Follow Google Cloud Billing’s payment-method flow to add or select UPI and meet the initial prepayment requirement shown by Google.
- Choose the available payment cadence—Google describes manual payment and monthly recurring payment options—and review the account’s billing details before confirming.
If the UPI option is absent, the account may not meet the eligibility requirements or may use a billing setup that does not support it. Follow the payment options displayed for that Cloud Billing account; do not assume a personal Google account qualifies.

Start a YouTube Live stream without buying a YouTube server
YouTube’s encoder workflow is a connection setup, not a server purchase. You create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy the stream URL and stream key, enter them in a compatible encoder, then start the encoder. Keep the stream key private: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key provided for that stream.
- In your encoder, paste the URL into the server or destination field and the key into the stream key field. Use the encoder’s YouTube guidance for the precise field names.
- Set the video and audio output to match your source and connection, then start streaming from the encoder.
- Check the live preview and stream status in YouTube Studio before sharing the watch page. Stop the encoder when the broadcast is over.
For an uploaded video that you want to play continuously rather than a camera or real-time encoder feed, you need a setup that loops prerecorded material and sends it to YouTube. Confirm the third-party provider and what its checkout covers before paying; that is separate from YouTube Premium and Google Cloud billing.

Check these details before you approve a payment
- Confirm the exact product name on the checkout screen: Premium, Google Cloud, and a third-party streaming provider are billed separately.
- For a recurring YouTube Premium subscription, read the UPI AutoPay mandate and renewal terms before approving it.
- For Google Cloud, verify organizational eligibility and the billing account’s currency before expecting UPI.
