To pair boAt Airdopes Plus earbuds, switch them on so they enter connection mode, turn on Bluetooth on your Android phone or iPhone, and tap the Bluetooth name that matches the exact model printed on the earbuds, case, or packaging. The listing is model-specific: examples in boAt’s support instructions include Airdopes Plus 214 and Airdopes Plus 318, and they should not be treated as one universal device name.
If the earbuds do not appear, the usual issue is that they are not powered on or are not in connection mode. The controls and indicator patterns differ by model, so use the section for your exact Airdopes Plus version.

The five-step pairing method
- Identify the exact model. Read the name on the charging case, product packaging, or model documentation. Use the corresponding Bluetooth name rather than guessing from the broader “Airdopes Plus” family.
- Put the earbuds into connection mode. The way this happens depends on the model. Airdopes Plus 214 earbuds automatically enter connection mode when switched on. Airdopes Plus 318 earbuds can power on when you open the case, or you can manually long-touch both capacitive controls for three seconds.
- Open Bluetooth settings. On either an Android phone or an iPhone, switch Bluetooth on and scan for available devices. The exact menu path can vary by phone software, but the action is the same: open the phone’s Bluetooth device list.
- Select the matching device name. Tap the entry that corresponds to your model, such as “Airdopes Plus 214” or “Airdopes Plus 318.” Do not choose a similarly named listing unless it matches the model printed on your product.
- Check that the connection completed. The Airdopes Plus 214 gives a tone prompt after successful pairing. For other models, rely on the phone’s connected status and that model’s support instructions rather than assuming the 214’s tone or controls apply.
Identify your Airdopes Plus model before opening Bluetooth
“Airdopes Plus” is a product family name, not necessarily the complete Bluetooth name. boAt’s support pages identify at least two versions with different listings and different power-on instructions:

These examples do not establish one Bluetooth name or one control sequence for every product carrying the Airdopes Plus name. If your case or packaging shows another model number, use that exact model’s instructions and select the corresponding name displayed by the phone.

Pairing on Android
Android phones use the same Bluetooth pairing action described by boAt’s model instructions:
- Switch on the earbuds and put them into connection mode using the instructions for your model.
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and turn Bluetooth on.
- Wait for the available-device list to refresh. Search for the exact model name shown by your earbuds, such as Airdopes Plus 214 or Airdopes Plus 318.
- Tap that entry to pair. If the phone shows a connected status, the Bluetooth connection is complete.
The cited boAt instructions do not require an additional pairing accessory or a separate Android application for this process. Pairing is performed through the phone’s Bluetooth device list.
Pairing on iPhone
On an iPhone, follow the same model-specific preparation and then use the Bluetooth device list:

- Switch on the earbuds and make sure they are in connection mode.
- Open the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
- Look under the available devices for the exact product name that matches your model.
- Tap the matching entry and wait for the phone to show that it is connected.
There is no separate iPhone pairing method described in the cited model instructions. The important distinction is not the phone brand but whether the earbuds are powered on, discoverable, and represented by the correct model name.
Model-specific instructions
Airdopes Plus 214
When the Airdopes Plus 214 earbuds are switched on, both automatically enter connection mode. With Bluetooth enabled on the phone, select Airdopes Plus 214 from the available-device list. A tone prompt indicates successful pairing.
Because the 214 can operate with either earbud by itself, you can also pair one earbud for mono use. Put the earbud you want to use into connection mode, then select Airdopes Plus 214 on the phone. To move from mono to stereo, take the other earbud out of the case; it automatically powers on and pairs with the earbud that was already selected.

Airdopes Plus 318
The 318 has two documented ways to power on. Opening the charging case can activate smart power-on. If that does not put the earbuds into the expected state, manually long-touch the capacitive control on both earbuds for three seconds.

Do not apply the 318’s three-second touch instruction or its red-and-blue indicator pattern to another Airdopes Plus version without checking that model’s instructions. boAt documents these details specifically for the 318.

What to do when the earbuds do not appear
1. Check that the earbuds are actually on
A phone cannot select earbuds that are switched off. Re-enter the model’s power-on or connection-mode procedure before scanning again. For the 214, switching the earbuds on should place both into connection mode. For the 318, open the case or long-touch both capacitive controls for three seconds.
2. Confirm the model name you are searching for
Search for the complete model listing, not only “Airdopes Plus.” The documented names are Airdopes Plus 214 and Airdopes Plus 318. If your product carries a different model number, the phone may display a different name.

For an Airdopes Plus 318, alternating red and blue flashes on the master earbud and a periodic blue flash on the slave earbud indicate the documented pairing state. If those indicators do not appear after the manual three-second touch, repeat the power-on procedure and consult the instructions for the model printed on your product.

4. Avoid assuming that another model’s controls apply
The 214 enters connection mode automatically when switched on, while the 318 can use case opening or a three-second touch on both earbuds. Those differences explain why a procedure that works for one version may not work for another. Check the case or packaging before trying a different control sequence.
5. Scan again only after connection mode is active
Bluetooth scanning is useful only while the earbuds are discoverable. Switch the earbuds on, confirm the model-specific connection indication where one is documented, and then refresh the phone’s available-device list. Select the exact matching name when it appears.
Using one earbud versus both
The cited mono and stereo behavior applies to the Airdopes Plus 214. Either 214 earbud can be used in mono mode. To use both earbuds in stereo after one has already been selected, remove the second earbud from its case. It automatically powers on and pairs with the earbud that was already selected by the phone.
This behavior should not be generalized to every Airdopes Plus model. If you own a different version, follow that model’s instructions for single-earbud use.
Pairing checklist
- Read the complete model number from the case, packaging, or documentation.
- Switch the earbuds on and put them into the connection mode documented for that model.
- Enable Bluetooth on the Android phone or iPhone.
- Tap the exact model name shown in the available-device list.
- For the 214, listen for the successful-pairing tone.
- For the 318, look for alternating red and blue flashes on the master earbud and periodic blue flashing on the slave earbud while pairing.
- If the name is missing, repeat the model-specific power-on procedure instead of selecting a similarly named device.
Why the exact model matters
Airdopes Plus is not a single Bluetooth profile with one guaranteed control layout. The documented 214 and 318 differ in their device names, power-on procedures, and status indications. Treat the model number as the deciding information: it tells you what name to select and which connection-mode action to perform. Once the earbuds are in that mode, both Android phones and iPhones pair through their ordinary Bluetooth device lists.
