How to Pair and Set Up the POCA Audio PINE Beat (It’s a Speaker, Not Earbuds)

By Freedom251 Team · · 9 min read

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

POCA Audio’s PINE Beat is officially documented as a portable Bluetooth speaker, not a pair of earbuds. The manufacturer’s guide does not describe earbuds, a charging case, touch controls, or earbud-specific reset steps. If “PINE Beat earbuds” is the product name you have, check the model label before following any instructions. For the documented PINE Beat speaker, turn it on, open your phone’s Bluetooth settings, select PINE Beat, and wait for the “Glacial Ice” confirmation chime.

After the first connection, the POCA Audio user guide says the speaker reconnects automatically. The sections below cover first-time setup, pairing another device, two-speaker TWS stereo, controls, charging, battery care, cleaning, and fixes for common connection problems.

Confirm which PINE Beat you own

The official POCA Audio user guide calls the product the PINE Beat Speaker, and the manufacturer product page identifies it as a portable Bluetooth speaker. That matters because speaker setup is different from earbud setup: there is no documented earbud charging case, no instruction to remove earbuds from a case, and no instruction to hold a touch surface on either earbud.

The instructions in this guide apply to the PINE Beat speaker described by those manufacturer materials. The material located for this model does not establish a separate PINE Beat earbuds product. An unrelated, discontinued, or differently named POCA Audio earbuds model could have different controls; use its own model-specific manual rather than adapting these steps.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

What you need before pairing

  • The PINE Beat speaker powered on.
  • A phone, tablet, computer, or other source device with Bluetooth enabled.
  • The source device within normal Bluetooth range while you complete setup.
  • Enough battery for the speaker to remain on during pairing. If it will not power on, charge it first with the included USB-C cable.

For a clean first connection, temporarily turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices that have previously used the speaker. This reduces the chance that PINE Beat reconnects to the wrong device before your new phone can select it.

Pair PINE Beat with a phone for the first time

On first power-up, the speaker automatically enters Bluetooth pairing mode. You do not need an earbud case or a special app.

  1. Power on the speaker. Hold the Power button for two seconds. The guide describes a startup chime and a flashing white LED.
  2. Open Bluetooth settings on your phone. On most phones this is under Settings and then Bluetooth or Connected devices. Leave the Bluetooth device list open while it scans.
  3. Select “PINE Beat.” Tap the exact device name shown by the speaker. If the phone asks you to confirm pairing, accept it.
  4. Listen for confirmation. The POCA Audio user guide says, “You’ll hear a Glacial Ice chime when successfully paired.” The phone should also show PINE Beat as connected.
  5. Start playback. Play a short audio clip and raise the phone’s media volume and the speaker volume to a comfortable level.

The guide’s wording is that “From now on, it’ll reconnect automatically.” In practice, that means leaving Bluetooth enabled on the source device and powering on the speaker should normally restore the previous connection. Automatic reconnection is not the same as simultaneous multipoint connection to several phones; the guide does not document multipoint behavior.

Pair a new phone or other device

When PINE Beat is already associated with one device and you want to connect a different phone, tablet, or computer, put the speaker back into pairing mode manually:

  1. Turn the speaker on.
  2. Hold the Play button for two seconds. The user guide identifies this as the action for entering pairing mode for a new device.
  3. On the new source device, open Bluetooth settings and choose PINE Beat.
  4. Wait for the “Glacial Ice” pairing chime, then test audio.

If the old phone immediately takes the connection, disable Bluetooth on that old phone for a moment, or move it out of range while you pair the new one. Re-enable it after setup if you want to use it again.

Pair two PINE Beat speakers in TWS stereo

The PINE Beat guide supports TWS (True Wireless Stereo) pairing between two PINE Beat speakers. This is a speaker-to-speaker feature, not an earbud mode. Follow the sequence exactly:

  1. Power on both PINE Beat speakers.
  2. Connect your phone or other source device to one of the speakers through Bluetooth.
  3. Make sure only one phone or source device is connected during the TWS setup.
  4. Double-press the Play button on both speakers.
  5. Wait for the pairing sound that confirms the two speakers have linked.

Once TWS is established, play audio from the phone connected to the first speaker. If the link does not form, turn both speakers off and on, keep the second phone disconnected, and repeat the sequence from the beginning. The manufacturer materials do not specify a separate left/right assignment procedure or a maximum distance between the two speakers.

Use the physical controls after setup

The documented controls are physical buttons. The guide does not describe touch-sensitive earbud surfaces.

Control Action in the PINE Beat guide
Power Hold for two seconds to turn the speaker on or off. Power-on includes a chime and flashing white LED; on power-off, the LED turns off.
Play Single tap toggles play and pause. Hold for two seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode for a new device.
Volume and track buttons Tap to navigate tracks; hold to adjust volume. The guide distinguishes tapping from holding, so use the action appropriate to what you want to change.
EQ Press to cycle through Outdoor, Extra Bass, Audiobook, and Indoor modes.

EQ presets change the speaker’s processing rather than the Bluetooth connection. If a podcast sounds overly bass-heavy, switch from Extra Bass to Audiobook or Indoor; if outdoor listening lacks impact, try Outdoor. These are listening choices, not separate pairing profiles.

Charge the speaker correctly

  1. Locate the silicone protective tab on the rear of the speaker.
  2. Open the tab and connect the included USB-C cable.
  3. Use a 5 V, 2.4 A charging source, as specified in the user guide.
  4. Keep the cable and the open charging connection dry while charging.
  5. Close the silicone tab after disconnecting the cable.

The guide states that a full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours at 2.4 A. It also says a USB-C wall plug rated above 30 W can charge faster. That is a manufacturer instruction, not an independently measured charging test; actual time can vary with the charger, cable, battery condition, and whether the speaker is being used.

Four battery LEDs indicate the remaining charge, with each LED representing 25 percent. The guide does not provide a more precise percentage display or a runtime guarantee tied to a particular volume level.

  1. Turn the speaker off and disconnect the USB-C cable.
  2. Place the speaker upside down.
  3. Open the battery lid from that position, following the lid’s mechanism rather than forcing it.
  4. Keep the battery itself dry and free of dirt while it is exposed.
  5. Close and secure the battery lid completely before powering the speaker on or exposing it to moisture.

Do not open the battery lid while the speaker is wet or dirty. The guide’s water-resistance instructions also require the charging-port tab and battery lid to be closed before cleaning.

Clean the speaker without compromising its seals

Before cleaning, power the speaker off, disconnect the cable, close the charging-port tab, and close the battery lid. Keep dirt and moisture away from the battery compartment and charging connection. Do not clean with either protective opening left open.

The product page lists an IP67 rating. That is a manufacturer-listed specification, not an independent test result. Treat the seals as protection for normal exposure, not as permission to charge the speaker while wet or to leave its ports open around water.

Troubleshoot pairing and playback

“PINE Beat” does not appear in Bluetooth settings

  • Confirm the speaker is actually on: hold Power for two seconds and look for the startup indication.
  • If it was paired with another device, hold Play for two seconds to re-enter pairing mode.
  • Temporarily disable Bluetooth on nearby phones and tablets that may reconnect automatically.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and back on in the phone’s settings, then scan again.
  • Move the phone close to the speaker during discovery and keep other wireless devices from crowding the setup.

The phone says it is connected, but there is no sound

  • Verify that media output is assigned to PINE Beat rather than the phone’s built-in speaker or another Bluetooth device.
  • Start playback and raise both the phone’s media volume and the speaker’s volume.
  • Press Play once to make sure playback is not paused.
  • Disconnect and reconnect PINE Beat from the phone’s Bluetooth device list.

The speaker keeps reconnecting to the wrong phone

Disable Bluetooth on the previously used phone while pairing the intended device. Then hold Play for two seconds on PINE Beat and select it from the new device’s Bluetooth list. The guide documents automatic reconnection after pairing, so a nearby previously paired phone can win the connection if it remains available.

TWS pairing fails

  • Use two PINE Beat speakers, not an earbud and a speaker or two unrelated Bluetooth speakers.
  • Connect the phone to only one speaker first.
  • Ensure no second phone is connected.
  • Double-press Play on both speakers, rather than single-pressing or holding it.
  • If necessary, power both speakers off and restart the TWS sequence.

The speaker will not charge

  • Close playback and inspect the USB-C connection.
  • Use the included cable and a suitable 5 V, 2.4 A source.
  • Make sure the charging port and cable are dry before connecting.
  • Check whether any of the four battery LEDs illuminate.
  • If the battery is removable and appears damaged, swollen, contaminated, or wet, stop using it and do not force the battery lid.

Buttons behave differently from expected earbud controls

That is likely a category mismatch. The documented PINE Beat uses speaker buttons: Play, Power, track/volume controls, and EQ. The manufacturer guide does not provide earbud gestures, a case-reset procedure, or left/right bud controls. Find the exact model printed on your hardware before attempting any earbud-specific instructions.

What the available documentation does not establish

The official materials used for this setup do not establish an earbuds edition, charging-case behavior, touch controls, earbud reset gestures, multipoint pairing, exact Bluetooth range, a left/right TWS channel switch, or a universal charging-cable compatibility list. Avoid treating those undocumented details as features or troubleshooting steps.

If the item in front of you really is a set of earbuds labeled with a different POCA Audio model, the safest next step is to identify that model from its case, label, or packaging and use the corresponding manual. The PINE Beat speaker instructions cannot verify how another product pairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the POCA Audio PINE Beat an earbud product?

The official POCA Audio materials identify PINE Beat as a portable Bluetooth speaker. They do not document a PINE Beat earbuds model or an earbud charging case.

Can I charge PINE Beat with a USB-C charger rated above 30 W?

The user guide says a USB-C wall plug over 30 W can charge faster. It still specifies 5 V at 2.4 A for charging and does not provide an independently tested charging-time guarantee.

Does the advertised 30-hour battery life apply in every situation?

No. The product page presents up to 30 hours as a manufacturer claim that depends on volume, settings, and audio type; it is not an independent test result.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
