Magnets do not create a Bluetooth pairing. If the accessory is only a magnetic ring, mount, stand or charger, you attach it physically; there is no pairing step. If it also contains Bluetooth electronics, put those electronics into the manufacturer’s pairing mode and connect them from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
OnePlus has not published, in the currently available official material, a OnePlus 16 manual, magnetic-system specification, Qi2 confirmation or model-specific magnetic-accessory guidance. Therefore, verify the exact phone or case fit before attaching anything, and do not assume that a case listed for another OnePlus model will fit.

First decide what “pair” means
The word pair describes two different operations in this question. A magnetic accessory can be held to a phone by physical attraction, while Bluetooth pairing creates a wireless data connection. The two functions can exist in the same product, but one does not prove the other.

Do not select a device in Bluetooth merely because it sticks to the phone. Conversely, a successful Bluetooth connection does not prove that the magnet is correctly aligned or that charging is supported.

Some products use a magnet only to hold a separate Bluetooth device, such as a shutter remote or sensor, while others combine a mount and a powered electronic module. Read the specification for the actual product you own: “magnetic” describes the attachment method, not the presence of a radio, battery or charging coil.
What is actually confirmed for the OnePlus 16
The available OnePlus material does not establish a OnePlus 16 product manual, a built-in magnet system, Qi2 support, a magnetic charging speed or a list of compatible accessories. That means an exact case fit, retention strength and charging behavior remain unverified.
The OnePlus online cases catalog shows magnetic cases for other named models, including the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 13s. It is useful for distinguishing alignment from compatibility, but iPhone behavior cannot be used as evidence that a OnePlus 16 supports the same system. A OnePlus Community discussion likewise is commentary, not an official specification.
For a later update, the OnePlus global manual portal is the sensible place to look for model-specific instructions. Until a OnePlus 16 manual or product page names the relevant interface, treat claims about magnetic charging, alignment, accessory strength and charging wattage as unconfirmed.

- Identify the exact phone model. Confirm that the product page or settings screen identifies the device as OnePlus 16, rather than a similarly named model or regional variant.
- Check for model-specific case or accessory language. Look for an explicit statement that the item fits OnePlus 16. “Fits OnePlus phones” or a reference to another model is not sufficient.
- Separate holding from charging. Confirm independently whether the item is only a mount, a stand, a ring or a charger. Magnetic attachment alone does not establish wireless charging.

How to pair a Bluetooth-enabled magnetic accessory
These steps apply when the accessory has a Bluetooth radio in addition to its magnetic attachment. The OnePlus support article titled “Unable to Pair or connect,” dated October 12, 2020, gives general troubleshooting advice. Its menu labels may not match the current OxygenOS release, so use the equivalent Bluetooth controls shown on the phone.
- Charge or power the accessory. A low battery can prevent discovery or interrupt the first connection. Keep the accessory close to the phone while setting it up.
- Enter the accessory’s pairing mode. Use the manufacturer-specified button, switch or touch gesture. A normal power-on state is not always pairing mode. Wait for the indicator or sound described by that accessory’s instructions.
- Open Bluetooth on the phone. Open Settings and select the Bluetooth control. Depending on the OxygenOS version, it may appear directly under Bluetooth or inside a connected-devices section. Turn Bluetooth on.
- Wait for the accessory name to appear. Select the exact name supplied by the accessory maker. Do not choose a similarly named device just because it is nearby.
- Confirm the request. Approve a pairing prompt or enter the code requested by the accessory’s instructions. If no code is supplied, do not invent one; repeat the manufacturer’s pairing procedure.
- Test the intended function. Operate the buttons, sensor, audio function or other feature that the accessory provides. A status of “paired” confirms a Bluetooth relationship, not magnetic fit or charging.
If the accessory has a companion app, complete Bluetooth pairing first unless that maker explicitly reverses the order. Grant only the permissions needed for the advertised function, and check whether the app requires the accessory to remain powered or nearby.
If the accessory does not appear
- Check that it is still in pairing mode and is not already connected to another phone or tablet.
- Move the accessory close to the OnePlus 16 and remove nearby competing devices from the immediate setup area.
- Turn Bluetooth off and on, then scan again.
- Power-cycle the accessory according to its instructions and repeat pairing mode.
- Check the accessory maker’s instructions for a maximum number of stored connections or a required reset gesture.
- Confirm that another phone has not automatically reclaimed the connection. Disable Bluetooth on that device temporarily while making the first pairing.
If it appears but will not connect
- Open the phone’s saved Bluetooth-device list and remove or forget the old entry for that accessory.
- Put the accessory back into pairing mode and select it as a new device.
- Check that the accessory is within the maker’s stated range and remains discoverable during the attempt.
- Install available system updates on the phone and firmware updates supplied for the accessory.
- If several Bluetooth devices fail in the same way, use the phone’s network-preferences reset option. The exact label and location vary by OxygenOS version; read the confirmation screen because a network reset can remove saved connection information.
OnePlus lists a factory reset as a later troubleshooting measure in its older support guidance. Treat that as a last resort, back up personal data first and use it only when ordinary pairing and network-reset steps have failed. A factory reset will not make an unverified magnetic case fit the phone.

A ring, mount or stand with no Bluetooth electronics has no pairing workflow. The relevant question is whether the phone or an exact-fit case provides the intended magnetic interface.
- Verify the interface. Look for explicit OnePlus 16 support in the phone documentation, the case documentation or the accessory listing. Do not infer support from a magnet’s ability to stick to a nearby metal object.
- Prepare the contact surface. Follow the accessory maker’s cleaning and installation instructions. Do not place an adhesive ring where it blocks cameras, buttons, microphones, vents or the case’s closure.

- Attach the accessory only after checking that it is stable and does not obstruct the phone.
- Power the accessory and enter its Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Pair it from the phone’s Bluetooth settings using the steps above.

Can I use a OnePlus 15 magnetic case on the OnePlus 16?
