Work shallowly and take extra care near the power and volume buttons. The cover has a fingerprint-sensor cable attached, so do not pull it away abruptly.
Before you start
- Confirm the phone is an SM-037-family Galaxy A03s; the procedure below comes from a third-party guide for that model family and may not apply identically to a different model.
- Use a plastic opening pick or plastic spudger. Avoid metal tools and deep prying, which can damage the housing.
- Power the phone off and work carefully. Opening the housing can damage clips or cables; proceed only if you are comfortable with that risk.
The procedure is adapted from VRM24’s Galaxy A03s SM-037 disassembly guide, a third-party repair guide, not a Samsung-issued repair manual.

How to remove the Galaxy A03s back cover

Remove the SIM and memory-card tray
Insert the SIM-eject tool or a straightened paperclip into the tray’s eject hole and remove the tray. Do not press excessively; the guide warns that the eject mechanism can break.

Release the clips around the cover
At the seam between the rear cover and the phone, carefully work a plastic pick or spudger around the edge to release the clips. Keep the tool shallow. Do not bend it deeply into the phone or force it against the housing.

Take extra care by the buttons
Move cautiously along the side with the power and volume buttons. The guide identifies this area as especially vulnerable because of a thin cable and fragile buttons.

Pause when the cover loosens
As the cover separates, do not yank it away. A fingerprint-sensor cable connects the cover to the phone. Disconnect its connector carefully if you need to fully separate the cover, following the guide’s photos and video.

What opening the cover does—and does not—do
Removing the exterior cover does not disconnect the battery. In the teardown guide, battery disconnection comes later, after removing an additional inner cover; it recommends using a non-metal or plastic tool for the battery connector. If your goal is a battery repair, do not treat the outer-cover step as battery isolation.
