How to remove the bottom cover
- Power off the laptop and set it on a clean, soft surface.
- Use a Torx T5 screwdriver to remove the ten bottom-cover screws. Keep each screw associated with its original hole.
- Insert a thin plastic pry tool at the cover seam and release the clips around the perimeter. Work carefully rather than forcing the cover.
- Lift off the bottom cover once the clips are released.

Before handling the SSD, fans or other internal parts, disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. The guide describes the 70 Wh battery and its tray-shaped support frame as a screw-secured assembly. ASUS also lists a 70 Wh battery for its US B9406CAA configuration. Treat battery removal as service work: confirm the correct part and follow model-specific ASUS service information.

Which B9406 memory and SSD specifications apply?
Check the full product number and local ASUS specifications rather than assuming every ExpertBook Ultra has the same limits. ASUS USA lists 32 GB onboard memory, a 32 GB maximum and a 1 TB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD for its B9406CAA configuration. ASUS’s January 23, 2026 global announcement describes series configurations with 16, 32 or 64 GB onboard memory and multiple storage options. Those broader series-level options do not establish that a US 32 GB B9406CAA can be upgraded to 64 GB.
ASUS notes that specifications are subject to change without notice. Check your exact model and region on the ASUS USA B9406 technical specifications page and ASUS’s January 2026 ExpertBook Ultra announcement. When to stop and use service
Removing the bottom cover provides access, but it does not make every repair a straightforward DIY job. If a clip resists, a connector is unclear, or the task involves removing the full cooling module, stop rather than forcing a part. For installation instructions, compatible replacement parts, or warranty and service questions, use the current ASUS support resources for your country and exact product number.
