To see iPhone photos on a Windows PC or an Android phone, open a web browser, go to icloud.com/photos, and sign in with the Apple Account that holds your photo library. That browser step is the one thing every route depends on. The Windows app is optional. Two conditions must already be true on the iPhone: iCloud Photos has to be turned on, and the account must allow web access.
What you need before you start
- An iPhone signed in to the Apple Account whose photo library you want to reach.
- That Apple Account’s email address and password.
- A browser on the Windows PC or Android phone. Apple describes browser access to iCloud Photos from a phone, tablet, or computer, but its documentation does not name Android or list specific Android browsers or versions. Treat Android as a practical route to try, not a guaranteed one.
Step 1: Confirm iCloud Photos is on, on the iPhone
Photos only reach iCloud if syncing is switched on for the device. Apple says photos and videos in the Photos app are added to iCloud when this setting is enabled, so check it before you go looking for them on another device.

- Open Settings on the iPhone and tap your name at the top.
- Tap iCloud, then tap Photos.
- Turn on Sync this iPhone.
- Leave the iPhone on Wi-Fi until the library has finished uploading. A large library can take a long time, and photos that have not uploaded yet will not appear in the browser.
Step 2: Open iCloud Photos in a browser
- On the Windows PC or Android phone, open a browser and go to icloud.com/photos.
- Sign in with the Apple Account associated with the photo library. Use the same account that is signed in on the iPhone.
- Wait for the library to load. Apple documents the iCloud Photos web experience on iCloud.com, so the page should show your library rather than a blank screen if the account is set up correctly.

Apple’s iCloud.com browser-features page, dated April 10, 2025, documents the following actions. Feature availability can vary by country or region, so a control you see in Apple’s documentation may be missing from your account.

The Windows option: iCloud for Windows
Apple also offers an optional iCloud for Windows app. After you install it, sign in, and turn on iCloud Photos, the library appears in File Explorer. This suits you if you want photos to behave like a folder you can browse with your other files. The browser route needs no installation, so it is the better fit for a quick look or a single download, particularly on a computer you do not use regularly.

Android phones: what is and is not established
Apple’s documentation supports browser access on a phone in general. It does not explicitly confirm that Android browsers work, and it does not say which browser versions are supported. If the page does not load, does not accept your sign-in, or shows an empty library, try a different browser on the same phone, then try a computer. If the library still does not appear, use the checks in the next section.
Why the library is missing or the page is limited

Web access and Advanced Data Protection
Web access is an account privacy setting. When it is turned off, iCloud data such as photos can be reached only on devices you have trusted. Advanced Data Protection turns web access off automatically. Apple says you can turn web access back on, and you can approve temporary access with a trusted device. This is a deliberate account choice, not a fault with Windows or Android.

The location of these controls depends on your operating system. Apple documents separate instructions for iOS and iPadOS 26.4 or later, earlier iOS and iPadOS versions, macOS 26.4 or later, and earlier macOS versions. Follow the labels shown in Settings on your own device rather than a fixed menu path.

For a phone, the browser is the only route Apple’s documentation describes. On a Windows PC, either route works.
