1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsNormalize each complete song by perceived loudness (measured in LUFS), not just by its highest peak. Use one consistent loudness-normalization process, keep ordinary stereo channels linked, leave peak headroom, then listen through the finished sequence and check the uploaded playback. YouTube’s cited creator-help pages do not specify a LUFS mastering target, so don’t treat a broadcast standard or a commonly repeated number as an official YouTube requirement.
What volume normalization does—and what it doesn’t
Peak normalization and loudness normalization solve different problems. Peak normalization moves a file’s highest sample peak to a chosen level in dBFS. Loudness normalization estimates perceived loudness and applies gain toward a chosen LUFS value. A song with a lower peak can still sound louder than another song, so peak readings alone cannot make a playlist feel consistent.

| Operation | What it changes | Useful for | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak normalization | Sets the highest sample peak to a selected dBFS level. | Setting a peak ceiling or leaving headroom. | Different songs can still sound uneven in perceived loudness. Audacity’s Normalize manual |
| Loudness normalization | Measures perceived loudness in LUFS and applies gain toward a target. | Bringing songs to a more comparable average loudness. | Equal integrated loudness does not make every passage equally loud or determine the right target. Audacity’s Loudness Normalisation manual |
| Dynamic-range processing | Changes the level relationship between quieter and louder sections. | Addressing source material whose internal dynamics need deliberate adjustment. | It can alter musical dynamics; audition the result. FFmpeg’s Dynamic Audio Normalizer is not the same as applying one gain change to a whole song. FFmpeg filter documentation |
Prepare the songs and choose a target
Before the final loudness pass, settle the song order, edits, fades, and transitions. Use audio you have the rights to use. Measure complete songs, but also assess the full rendered sequence: silence, intros, fades, and transitions affect what listeners experience.

There is no target established here as YouTube’s required or recommended creator mastering level. The European Broadcasting Union’s EBU R 128 recommends average programme loudness of −23 LUFS for broadcast; that is a broadcast reference, not a YouTube target or an Indian-music-specific setting. EBU R 128 and Audacity’s explanation of perceived loudness describe the standard’s context.
#1 Best Overall
- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Normalize songs in Audacity
- Import the finished song files. Keep the intended versions and edits; measure each complete song rather than a short excerpt.
- Open Effect → Volume and Compression → Loudness Normalization. Audacity measures perceived loudness and applies a gain change toward the LUFS value you choose. Its manual lists −23 LUFS as the default and identifies it with EBU R 128; do not assume that default is a YouTube recommendation. Audacity: Loudness Normalisation
- Keep stereo channels linked. For ordinary stereo music, leave “Normalize stereo channels independently” off. Processing left and right independently can change stereo balance. Use independent processing only if the channels are genuinely separate recordings that need correction.
- Apply the same chosen target consistently, then review the result. Loudness normalization is primarily a gain adjustment; it does not make every chorus, quiet passage, or intro equally loud.
- Check peaks and export with headroom. Audacity’s separate peak Normalize effect defaults to a −1 dB peak target. Its manual explains that −1 dB rather than 0 dB leaves headroom that is safer before lossy encoding. This is a peak-headroom example, not a LUFS target. Audacity: Normalize
Use FFmpeg if you prefer a command-line workflow
FFmpeg documents the loudnorm filter for EBU R 128 loudness normalization. It is an option for applying loudness-based processing from the command line, but the EBU context does not make a particular target an official YouTube requirement. Read the filter documentation for its available options and measurement workflow: FFmpeg filters.
FFmpeg’s Dynamic Audio Normalizer is a different choice: it works to make quieter and louder sections more even. That changes local level relationships rather than simply applying one gain change across a whole song. Use it only when that dynamic change is intended, and listen to the result.

Listen across the continuous mix
- Audition every transition, including the end of one song and the opening of the next.
- Compare songs at an ordinary listening level. A meter can identify differences in integrated loudness, but it cannot determine whether a transition feels musically smooth.
- Listen for quiet intros that become hard to hear, choruses that jump forward, clipped or distorted peaks, and unnatural changes in stereo placement.
- If a song feels wrong despite matching the meter, revisit its gain or transition rather than applying stronger compression automatically. Compression and dynamic normalization can change the music’s dynamics.
Check the uploaded YouTube playback
After upload, listen to the version viewers will hear, preferably in the context of the channel’s continuous programme. YouTube Help documents Stats for nerds as a playback diagnostic and explains how to open it on a computer. Use it to inspect playback information, not as proof of a mastering target or a guaranteed normalization amount. Open Stats for nerds; for playback problems, see YouTube’s video troubleshooting guide.
Troubleshooting uneven song volume
- Peaks match but songs still sound different: Peak normalization controls the highest sample peak, not perceived loudness. Measure and normalize by LUFS, then listen to the sequence.
- The stereo image shifts after processing: Check whether independent stereo-channel normalization was enabled. For ordinary stereo material, process the channels as a linked pair.
- The mix sounds flattened or pumping: You may be using compression or dynamic normalization rather than a single gain change. Back off that processing unless you specifically want to change the level differences within songs.
- The export distorts or sounds harsh after encoding: Check the peak level and leave headroom. Audacity’s −1 dB peak example is a safety margin before lossy encoding, not a LUFS setting.
- You cannot find an official YouTube LUFS number: The cited YouTube Help pages cover playback diagnostics and troubleshooting, not a creator-facing LUFS target. Don’t present −14 LUFS, −23 LUFS, or another figure as an official YouTube requirement on their basis.
Or let it run in the cloud
Normalizing the audio prepares the programme; keeping a YouTube livestream running is a separate job. StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video stream running from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It streams the files as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
