You can broadcast one live show to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Facebook at the same time by sending separate outputs from a capable local encoder or by sending one feed to a cloud multistream relay that forwards it to the platforms. First confirm that each account can go live, then choose a workflow and budget for the upload bandwidth, computer capacity, platform rules, and different layouts involved.
Before you start: check access, rules, and stream details
- Confirm live access on all four accounts. Find each platform’s current live-stream setup and credentials. Depending on your encoder or relay, you may need a stream key and RTMP server URL. Do not assume every TikTok account can stream from an external encoder: LIVE access and encoder access may require approval or application. YouTube’s multistream guidance and Restream’s TikTok integration guide describe the account and connection prerequisites.
- Review Twitch’s simulcasting rules. Twitch’s guidelines apply unless an agreement requires exclusivity. They prohibit using Twitch to direct viewers to another live stream and identify degrading the Twitch viewing experience as a policy issue. Check the current Twitch guidelines and any agreement that applies to your account.
- Decide whether one layout will work everywhere. Platforms can display the same feed differently, and vertical and horizontal audiences may need distinct layouts. TikTok presentation and eligibility can vary; preview the destination rather than assuming that a horizontal feed will appear as intended.
- Prepare platform-specific details. Titles, descriptions, categories, and other metadata may need to be set separately, depending on the tool. Check each destination preview and dashboard before going live.
TikTok eligibility rules can change and may vary by region or account. The cited guides do not establish one universal follower-count threshold, so verify access in your own account rather than relying on a single number.

Choose how to send the streams
Cloud relay: one upload, several destinations
A relay receives one outgoing stream from your encoder and forwards it to the selected platforms. This can reduce the number of uploads from your home connection and the number of outputs your computer must produce. Destination limits, account connections, metadata controls, and pricing depend on the service and plan; check those details before choosing one.

Local multi-output encoding: direct control, more demand
A local encoder can send separate feeds directly to platforms when the software and account credentials support it. This offers more direct control, but multiple outputs can increase encoding load and use more upload bandwidth. Your computer, network, and platform access all need enough capacity.

| Decision | Local multi-output encoder | Cloud relay |
|---|---|---|
| Outgoing upload from your connection | Multiple streams; budget for their combined target bitrate. | One stream to the relay, which forwards copies. |
| Computer load | Multiple encodes can increase CPU or GPU demand. | Usually lighter on the creator’s computer because the relay distributes the feed. |
| Control | More direct control of outputs. | Centralized destination selection; capabilities vary by service. |
| Destination count | Depends on the encoder, connection, and platform access. | May be convenient for several destinations; check plan limits. |
| Cost considerations | Software may be free, but hardware and connectivity still have costs. | Some services offer free tiers; limits and premium features vary. |
| Chat and metadata | Depends on the encoder and integrations. | Some services consolidate chat or provide destination-specific settings. |
These are general trade-offs, not guaranteed performance results. YouTube describes local hardware or software encoding as an option for creators seeking quality and control who have a powerful computer. Its multistream guidance also recommends planning for upload capacity; service features described by Streamlabs and Restream are vendor-specific and may change.
Set up OBS with a cloud relay
- Verify access and connect destinations. Confirm that YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Facebook accounts can go live, then connect each account in the relay dashboard. Complete any requested authorization or application before the show.
- Connect OBS to the relay. Select the relay service in OBS if it is listed, or open OBS’s stream settings and enter the relay’s server and stream key. Follow the relay’s current setup instructions; do not paste a destination’s key where the relay expects its own.
- Select destinations and configure details. In the relay dashboard, choose the platforms for this broadcast and set supported titles, descriptions, categories, or other per-platform options.
- Start the encoder and inspect each destination. Start streaming from OBS, then check that the feed appears on all selected platforms. Watch YouTube’s Live Control Room stream-health indicators and check the other platforms’ previews or dashboards.
Restream describes connecting OBS through an account or key and selecting destinations in its OBS guide. Streamlabs describes using its dashboard’s custom RTMP URL and stream key with other streaming software. Labels and screens change, so follow the service’s current instructions rather than treating any menu path as universal.

Set up Streamlabs
- Link the platform accounts. Connect the destinations you are authorized to use in Streamlabs Desktop.
- Choose destinations in the go-live controls. Select the accounts for this broadcast and review the title and description. Its setup guide describes a shared title-and-description flow with advanced per-platform settings.
- Check output layout and plan limits. Streamlabs currently describes broad Multistream as an Ultra feature and free Dual Output as one horizontal plus one vertical destination. Check its feature page for current plan boundaries and supported options.
- Go live and confirm each feed. Inspect every destination’s preview and stream health rather than assuming that one successful connection means all outputs are working.
For the vendor’s documented setup sequence, see the Streamlabs Desktop Multistream Quick Setup Guide. The available settings and plan terms can change.

Plan upload bandwidth for local outputs
For direct local outputs, add the target bitrates of the simultaneous streams. YouTube’s example uses 6 Mbps for one stream and 4 Mbps for another: together they target 10 Mbps. YouTube recommends upload capacity of 1.5 to 2 times that total for stability, or 15–20 Mbps in this example, especially on a shared connection. This is an example calculation, not a universal bitrate prescription; recommended encoder ranges depend on ingestion codec, resolution, and frame rate. See YouTube’s guidance.

- Run a speed test under conditions similar to your broadcast, including other household or office traffic.
- Leave headroom above the combined target bitrate; a speed test result is not a guarantee of sustained upload performance.
- During the broadcast, monitor stream health at each destination and reduce output demands or resolve network congestion if feeds become unstable.
Common problems and fixes
A platform does not receive the stream
Check that the account is connected, live access is enabled, and the correct destination is selected. If the encoder sends directly, verify that you used the correct server URL and stream key for that platform. If you use a relay, distinguish its OBS ingest key from the destination credentials connected in the relay dashboard.
TikTok is missing or cannot go live
External-streaming access may not be enabled for the account. Follow the account’s current LIVE or application flow, and verify access before scheduling a show around a relay or encoder. Preview the destination to confirm the feed’s orientation and presentation.

One or more feeds stutter or drop
For local outputs, compare the combined target bitrate with your available upload capacity and check for other network use. Multiple encodes may also strain the computer. YouTube recommends monitoring stream health; a relay can reduce the number of outgoing streams from your connection, but its service capabilities and limits vary.
Titles, descriptions, or layout differ between platforms
Look for per-platform metadata controls in the encoder or relay, then inspect each destination preview. A single horizontal feed may not suit a vertical destination, and platform-specific presentation can change.

Twitch viewers are directed elsewhere or see a degraded experience
Review Twitch’s simulcasting guidelines and any account agreement. Do not use the Twitch stream to direct viewers to another live stream, and avoid practices that degrade the Twitch viewing experience.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded video that should keep a YouTube channel live around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate option—not a multistream relay. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a camera feed. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer, OBS, or home connection staying on.
- Nothing has to stay on at home.
- Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card; one free day per account.
