You generally can’t transfer playlist ownership directly between two personal Google accounts. For a playlist the new account can access, open its link while signed in to that account and save it to the library; to own a separately editable playlist, recreate it there. Private videos need separate access from their uploader. YouTube’s documented channel-move tool is for moving a channel between eligible Brand Accounts associated with the same Google Account—not for migrating personal playlists.
Choose what you mean by “move”
Saving a playlist and owning a copy are different outcomes. YouTube documents how to save a playlist to a library, but that does not establish that the new account receives ownership or a separately editable duplicate.

Save an accessible playlist to the new account
- Sign in to the old Google account and open the playlist page—not an individual video page.
- Copy the playlist URL from the browser’s address bar. YouTube notes that a playlist URL contains a playlist identifier. See Share playlists.
- Switch to the new Google account and open the copied link.
- Use YouTube’s save-playlist control if it is available. YouTube documents saving a playlist to your library; the control and interface may vary by device or account.
This gives the new account access to the original playlist in its library, not a documented transfer of ownership. If the save option is unavailable, check that you are signed into the intended account and that the playlist is visible and accessible.

Create a separately editable playlist
If you want the new account to own its own playlist, create one there and add the videos to it. YouTube Help Community guidance says Takeout exports cannot be automatically imported as playlists and recommends manual recreation. Because that is community guidance rather than an official help policy, do not treat a Takeout export as a supported playlist-import file.

- Sign in to YouTube using the new Google account.
- Create a playlist under that account.
- For each video you can access, use YouTube’s add-to-playlist control and select the new playlist. If useful, keep the old playlist open in another tab as a reference.
- Check the new playlist for videos that are unavailable or inaccessible under the new account.
The work depends on the playlist’s size and which videos remain available. No supported automatic import route or migration time is established here.
Handle private videos separately
A playlist link does not grant permission to view private videos. The uploader must invite the new account to view each private video; YouTube warns that private videos will not play for others unless the uploader has shared them. See YouTube Help: Share playlists. After access is granted, open the playlist while signed into the new account and save it or add the accessible videos to a recreated playlist.

Do not use a channel move as a playlist shortcut
YouTube’s channel-transfer instructions cover moving a YouTube channel and its videos between Brand Accounts associated with the same Google Account. They do not describe moving playlists between two personal Google accounts. Eligibility conditions apply; supervised accounts cannot move a channel, and a school account may have a qualified transfer option. See Move your YouTube channel from one Brand Account to another.
Be especially careful if the destination already has a channel. YouTube warns that choosing “Replace” permanently deletes the destination channel’s content, including its playlists. Do not proceed unless you actually intend to move a channel and have checked the selected source and destination.

What is different for users in India?
YouTube’s official save and share help pages are available in India localization and describe the same basic playlist actions. They do not document a separate India-only account-to-account playlist transfer. The guidance here covers the general workflow; interfaces and availability can vary by account type and device.
