The most direct way to move content from an old phone to a vivo X Fold6 is vivo EasyShare’s Phone Clone. It pairs the phones with a QR code, lets you choose what to copy, and transfers the selected data without using mobile data for the clone itself. It is not a guarantee that every app will be installed, that private app data will survive, or that account sessions will remain signed in.
Back up the old phone first, leave it unchanged during the move, and check the X Fold6 carefully afterward. vivo warns that data for the same apps already on the new phone can be overwritten, while regional documentation says some transferred apps may require manual installation.

Which transfer method should you use?
Your best option depends on the old phone, the type of content you need, and how much manual setup you can accept after the copy.
| Method | Best for | How it connects | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| EasyShare Phone Clone | A device-to-device move from an Android phone or iPhone | QR-code pairing between the two phones | Apps may not install automatically, and app-private data or sign-in sessions are not guaranteed to migrate |
| EasyShare file transfer | Selected photos, videos, documents, contacts, or other files | EasyShare on the phones | It is a file-copy route rather than proof of a complete phone-state clone |
| EasyShare PC backup and restore | A computer-mediated backup or a fallback when direct cloning is unsuitable | USB or Wi-Fi connection to a computer | vivo’s regional PC guidance says encrypted data is not backed up through this workflow |
Phone Clone is the closest fit when your goal is to start using the X Fold6 with as much of the old phone’s selected content as possible. Use the other methods for targeted files or as a fallback, not as evidence that every app’s internal state has been preserved.

Check the X Fold6 variant and software first
EasyShare support and available features can vary by device model, carrier, and country or region. The cited Phone Clone instructions are general vivo documentation rather than an X Fold6-specific manual. vivo’s China product page lists X Fold6 variants and gives a June 2026 launch timing, while the India product page lists a different regional software version and specifications. Those pages establish that regional editions differ; they do not establish that every market has identical menus, preinstalled software, or transfer support.
Confirm EasyShare is available
Open the app list on both phones and look for EasyShare. Make sure the app is present and current before you begin. If your X Fold6 uses different labels or does not show Phone Clone, use the local vivo support instructions for your model and region rather than assuming that another market’s menu applies.
Identify the source-phone type
The new phone’s Phone Clone flow asks whether the old phone is Android or iPhone. Select the actual source platform. That choice controls the pairing and migration path, so do not select Android for an iPhone simply because both devices use the same charging cable or wireless network.
Prepare before copying anything
A few minutes of preparation prevents the most damaging failure: changing or erasing the only copy of your data before you know what arrived.
- Make a separate backup. vivo’s manual explicitly says to back up first. Use a backup method you can access independently of the X Fold6, especially for irreplaceable photos, documents, contacts, messages, and authenticator or recovery information.
- Keep the old phone intact. Do not factory-reset it, uninstall apps, or delete files until you have checked the destination and confirmed that you can sign in to important accounts.
- Inspect the X Fold6 for existing app data. Phone Clone can overwrite data for the same apps on the new phone. If you have already used an app on the X Fold6, decide whether that destination data can be replaced before starting.
- List apps that need special attention. Banking, work, password-manager, authenticator, messaging, and subscription apps may require a fresh sign-in, device approval, or an in-app export and restore. Phone Clone does not promise that a private database or active session will be usable on the destination.
- Plan for follow-up connectivity. The clone itself is described as data-free, meaning it does not consume mobile data for the phone-to-phone transfer. Internet access may still be needed afterward for app downloads, account sign-in, updates, or cloud restoration.
Move data with EasyShare Phone Clone
The following sequence follows vivo’s documented old-to-new workflow. Names can differ slightly by regional software version, but the roles are the same: the old phone displays a QR code, and the X Fold6 scans it.
1. Open EasyShare on the old phone
Launch EasyShare on the phone that contains your data. Choose the role for the old phone. The app should display a QR code for pairing.
2. Start Phone Clone on the X Fold6
On the X Fold6, open Phone Clone. When prompted, choose the type of the old phone—Android or iPhone—then use the X Fold6 camera or scanner in Phone Clone to scan the QR code shown on the old device.

- All‑Round Foldable Protection: Shock‑resistant lightweight shell absorbs impact from drops and bumps, defending your phone against daily knocks and scratches
- Built‑in Front Screen Protector: Integrated front display film avoids extra screen glass installation, maintains original touch sensitivity while blocking scuffs and abrasions
- Complete Hinge Guard: Precision‑fit hinge enclosure shields the folding hinge from dust, grit and wear, ensures smooth opening‑closing without hindering fold motion

- User‑Friendly Practical Design: Easy snap‑on installation and removal. Raised edges lift screen and camera off flat surfaces to prevent direct surface friction
3. Select the content to copy
After the phones pair, the old phone presents the available data categories. Select what you want to send rather than assuming that every category is required. Review the selection carefully if the X Fold6 already contains data, because the manual warns that same-app data on the new phone may be overwritten.
4. Start cloning and leave both phones available
Start the clone from the old phone and allow the transfer to complete. Do not erase the source phone or treat the process as finished merely because the main screen appears on the X Fold6. The transfer is intended to avoid mobile-data use for the clone itself, but later downloads and sign-ins can still require a network connection.
5. Confirm what arrived
When Phone Clone reports completion, work through the verification list below before changing the old phone. A successful pairing or completion message means the selected transfer finished; it does not mean every app has been installed or every account is authenticated.
What to check after Phone Clone
Applications and installation
Open the X Fold6 app list and compare it with the old phone. vivo’s regional guide says permission limitations can prevent transferred apps from installing automatically. If an app is present in the transferred material but not installed, look in Files > Apps and install it manually when the package is available there. If it is not present, obtain it through the normal distribution channel for your region and device.

Open important apps individually and complete their supported sign-in or restore process.
Accounts, sessions, and protected data
Check email, messaging, banking, work, subscription, password, and two-factor-authentication apps one by one. Expect some services to ask for a password, a one-time code, approval from the old phone, or a new device registration. Keep the old phone available until those checks succeed.
The supplied vivo instructions do not guarantee migration of each app’s private data or authentication state. Treat an app as restored only after you can see the expected records and perform a normal action, such as opening a recent conversation or viewing a saved document.

Personal files
Review photos, videos, downloads, documents, recordings, contacts, and messages that matter to you. Open a sample from each category instead of checking filenames alone. Files that are visible but cannot be opened may need to be copied again through EasyShare file transfer or restored from your independent backup.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCloud-backed content
Some content may appear only after you sign in and allow the app to restore it from its own cloud service. That is separate from the local Phone Clone operation and may require internet access.
Use EasyShare for selected files
If you do not need a broad phone migration, EasyShare can be used as a file-transfer route. This is useful when you want to copy a particular folder, a set of photos, or documents without replacing data already on the X Fold6.
- Open EasyShare on both phones and choose its file-transfer function.
- Select the files or categories you want to send from the old phone.
- Pair the devices using the connection method shown by EasyShare.
- Send the selection, then open representative files on the X Fold6 to verify that they are readable.
File transfer gives you control over individual items, but it should not be described as a complete app migration. It does not establish that an app’s internal database, credentials, or session has been copied.
Use EasyShare PC as a backup or fallback
EasyShare PC supports backup and restore over USB or Wi-Fi according to vivo’s regional guidance. It can be useful when direct Phone Clone is unavailable, when you want a computer-held copy, or when you prefer to restore in a separate step.
Back up to the computer
- Install and open EasyShare PC on the computer.
- Connect the old phone by USB or use the Wi-Fi connection offered by the software.
- Choose the available backup function and select the data categories you want to preserve.
- Complete the backup and keep the resulting computer copy until the X Fold6 has been checked.
Restore to the X Fold6
- Connect the X Fold6 to EasyShare PC using the supported USB or Wi-Fi method.
- Choose restore and select the backup created from the old phone.
- Review any destination-data warning before starting, particularly if the X Fold6 already contains the same apps or files.
- After restoration, check applications, files, accounts, and cloud restores individually.
Important encryption limitation
The regional PC guidance says encrypted data is not backed up through this workflow. Do not make EasyShare PC your only safety copy for important encrypted or protected material. Preserve a separate backup using the service or application that created the data, and verify that it can be restored before relying on the computer copy.

The QR code will not scan
- Confirm that EasyShare is open in the old-phone role on the source device and that Phone Clone is open on the X Fold6.
- Return to the source-type choice on the X Fold6 and select Android or iPhone correctly.
- Check that EasyShare is present and current on both phones.
- If the menus do not match these steps, stop and check regional vivo support because model, carrier, and country can change available features.
The transfer completes but an app is missing
Permission limitations can prevent automatic installation. Check Files > Apps, install any transferred package manually, and then use the app’s own sign-in or restore process. A missing app is not evidence that the entire clone failed.

An app opens without its old data
Some apps keep data in protected or private storage, while others require a cloud restore or a new device registration. Keep the old phone, use the app’s documented export or restore feature, and do not delete the source data until the destination is usable.
Existing data on the X Fold6 disappeared
The Phone Clone manual warns that data for the same apps on the new phone may be overwritten. Check the separate backup you made before cloning. If the old destination data was important, stop using the X Fold6 for that app until you determine whether it can be restored.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The PC backup is incomplete
Encrypted data is excluded from the EasyShare PC workflow described by vivo’s regional guidance. Restore protected material through its original app or service instead of repeatedly treating the PC backup as a full image.
Transfer works but downloads or sign-ins do not
Phone Clone’s data-free description applies to the phone-to-phone clone itself. App downloads, account authentication, updates, and cloud restoration can still need internet access. Connect the X Fold6 using the network required by those services and retry the individual app setup.
Do not confuse migration with AI Cross-App Drag
The X Fold6 announcement describes AI Cross-App Drag as a way to move information between apps on the phone. That is an on-device productivity feature. It does not clone applications or data from an old phone, and it cannot replace Phone Clone, file transfer, or a backup-and-restore process.
How fast will the move be?
vivo advertises EasyShare at up to 40 MB/s on a cited page, but the publication year is not displayed there. This is an undated vendor maximum, not an independently measured result and not an X Fold6-specific guarantee. Actual speed depends on the phones, connection, selected data, and conditions, so use the completion status and post-transfer checks rather than estimating a guaranteed duration.

- Choose Phone Clone when you are moving from an Android phone or iPhone and want a broad, direct transfer with selectable categories.
- Choose EasyShare file transfer when you need only particular files or want to avoid changing existing destination app data.
- Choose EasyShare PC when you need a computer-mediated backup or direct cloning is unavailable, while remembering that encrypted data is excluded from the cited regional workflow.
- Use an app’s own export or cloud restore for protected databases, authentication tools, and services that do not expose their private data to a phone-transfer utility.
Whatever method you choose, retain the old phone and your independent backup until the X Fold6 passes your own checks for apps, files, accounts, and protected content.
