“House” can mean four different things in Hello Kitty Island Adventure: the new Player Home, your claimed player cabin, a visitor cabin, or the furniture layout saved for a cabin. The documented Move Out command applies to a claimed player cabin. It does not establish a way to relocate the Player Home added in the October 8, 2026 Welcome Home update.
If you mean your personal cabin, interact with its outdoor sign—or the room plaque inside an upgraded cabin—choose Move Out, and then claim another repaired visitor cabin. If you mean a visitor, a cabin resident, or a cabin design, use the cabin-swap or Layouts/Kits systems instead.

What “house” means in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
The game now has several home-related systems that use similar language but do different jobs. Identifying the one you are using prevents you from looking for a control that does not apply to your property.
| What you may mean | What it is | What can be changed |
|---|---|---|
| Player Home | A new home feature introduced in the Welcome Home update on October 8, 2026. | Sunblink describes customization and upgrades. A specific relocation command is not documented in the official material available for this update. |
| Player cabin | A repaired visitor cabin that you have claimed as your own residence. | You can move out of the claimed cabin and claim another repaired cabin, subject to the cabin rules. |
| Visitor cabin | A repaired cabin furnished to attract a visitor or house a resident. | Once more than one visitor cabin is repaired, cabin contents can be swapped. Some permanent residents have regional requirements. |
| Cabin layout or contents | The furniture arrangement and design saved for a cabin. | Layouts and Kits can transfer saved cabin designs between cabins. This is a design transfer, not proof that the Player Home itself can be relocated. |
Nintendo’s official listing describes renovating and decorating cabins to attract visitors. That older cabin system remains separate from the Player Home and Character Homes introduced later. The App Store version history for version 3.0.0 also identifies the Player Home, Character Homes, and Pocket Rooms, with Pocket Rooms adding spaces to a Home or to Cabins.

In practical terms, first identify what you want to move. Ownership, an occupant, a cabin’s contents, and a saved design are four different changes. A prompt that works for one may be absent from the others. This distinction also explains why older cabin guides can appear to conflict with newer Player Home information: they are describing different systems.
Can you move the new Player Home?
There is no verified relocation procedure for the new Player Home. The October 8, 2026 Sunblink announcement confirms that players can customize and upgrade the Player Home, and it introduces Character Homes and expanded cabin floorplans. It does not describe a map relocation control, a “move house” button, a mailbox option, a cost, or a quest gate for moving the Player Home.
That means you should not treat the player-cabin Move Out command as a Player Home feature. A cabin is an individual structure that can be claimed or swapped; the Player Home is a separate home system. If your goal is to change the Player Home’s furniture or add rooms, use the decoration and upgrade controls presented by your current game version. The official descriptions establish customization, upgrades, and Pocket Rooms, but they do not provide a sufficiently specific, verified sequence of menus for relocating the home on the map.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteNo currency amount, material fee, cooldown, or unlock condition for moving the Player Home is established in the official descriptions. Do not spend resources or search for a particular quest solely because a cabin guide mentions them. If a future patch adds a relocation feature, the name of the command and its requirements could be different from the cabin process.
What the current update does confirm
- The Player Home was introduced in the Welcome Home update dated October 8, 2026.
- Character Homes are part of the same update.
- Expanded cabin floorplans are part of the update.
- Pocket Rooms in App Store version 3.0.0 add new spaces to a Home or to Cabins.
Those features may let you change the size, rooms, or appearance of a home, but they should not be read as evidence of a relocation feature. If a later update adds such a control, its exact label and requirements may differ from the cabin process below.
If you only want a different interior, that is a customization question rather than a relocation question. The update announcement confirms customization and upgrades, but it does not publish universal button-by-button decoration instructions. Follow the controls visible in your installed version and avoid assuming that a Pocket Room, Character Home, or expanded floorplan changes the Player Home’s map position.
How to move your personal player cabin
This is the documented route for changing the cabin that belongs to your character. The detailed cabin instructions come from the community-maintained Hello Kitty Island Adventure Wiki, so treat the wording as a practical reference and check the labels shown in your current game.

Before you start
- Complete the Make Yourself At Home quest so you can claim a repaired visitor cabin as your personal cabin.
- Have another visitor cabin repaired if you want a different location to claim.
- Decide whether the cabin you are leaving is upgraded. The interaction point differs between an un-upgraded and an upgraded cabin.
There is no separate fee or item requirement stated for the Move Out action in the documented cabin procedure. The important prerequisites are a claimed player cabin, a repaired destination cabin, and access to the cabin interaction point appropriate to the cabin’s upgrade state.
When you first claim a repaired visitor cabin, any visitor occupying that cabin is forced to move out. This is a consequence of taking ownership of the cabin, not a general command for moving every visitor on the island.
Before selecting the command, make a note of the cabin you are leaving and the one you want to claim. Moving out changes which cabin is your personal residence; it should not be confused with copying a room design or transferring an occupant. Those are separate actions covered below.
Move out of an un-upgraded player cabin
- Go outside the claimed cabin.
- Interact with the cabin’s outdoor sign.
- Select Move Out.
- After leaving, travel to another repaired visitor cabin that you want to use.
- Claim that repaired cabin as your player cabin using the interaction the game presents there.
The outdoor sign is the documented access point for an un-upgraded cabin. If you do not see the command, confirm that you are interacting with the sign belonging to your claimed cabin rather than a nearby visitor cabin.
Do not interpret the absence of a Move Out option at a destination cabin as proof that the move failed. The destination must first be a repaired visitor cabin, and the game may present its claim interaction only after you have left the old residence. The documented flow is to leave the claimed cabin, then claim the repaired cabin you selected.

Move out of an upgraded player cabin
- Enter the upgraded cabin.
- Interact with the room plaque inside the cabin.
- Select Move Out.
- Go to the other repaired cabin you intend to claim.
- Claim that cabin as your new personal residence.
An upgraded cabin uses its interior room plaque instead of the exterior sign for the move-out interaction. The two access points are alternatives based on the cabin’s upgrade state; they are not two separate move systems.
If you are standing outside an upgraded cabin and cannot find the command, enter the cabin and look for the plaque rather than repeatedly checking the outdoor sign. Conversely, an un-upgraded cabin uses its outdoor sign according to the documented instructions.
What happens to the cabin you leave
Move Out changes your ownership of the player cabin. It is not a command to copy every room, item, or design automatically to the destination. If you want to preserve a cabin’s arrangement, use the Layouts or Kits feature described later, where available, and treat that as a separate design task.
Claiming the new cabin also affects any visitor assigned to it. A visitor occupying a repaired cabin is forced to move out when you claim that cabin, so check the cabin’s current role before taking it as your residence. That result is expected from the cabin rules, not evidence that your entire visitor roster has been deleted.
How to switch visitors or permanent residents between cabins
If you are trying to move a character rather than move your own residence, use the visitor-cabin system. The cabin must be repaired, and the swap option becomes available once more than one visitor cabin has been repaired.
Cabin-swap access points
- For a non-upgraded cabin, interact with the outdoor sign.
- For an upgraded cabin, interact with the room plaque inside.
The surfaced cabin reference describes these interactions as the way to swap cabin contents. “Contents” can include the visitor or resident associated with the cabin and the cabin’s furnishings. This is distinct from selecting Move Out for your own claimed cabin.
Repairing only one visitor cabin is not enough for a swap because there is no second repaired location to exchange with. Once another cabin is repaired, use the sign or plaque on the relevant cabin and choose the swap option shown by your version of the game.
Permanent residents and regional limits
Permanent residents can be moved by swapping cabins, but not every resident can be placed everywhere. Some residents must remain in their required region. If a swap does not offer the location you want, the restriction may be regional rather than a missing upgrade or a failed interaction.
Repairing another cabin also matters. With only one repaired visitor cabin, there is no second repaired location to swap with. Repair the additional cabin first, then use the sign or room plaque to manage the swap.
Do not assume that upgrading a cabin removes a regional rule. The upgrade changes where you access the interaction, while the resident’s required region remains a separate placement limit. A cabin can therefore be repaired and usable for swaps while still being an invalid destination for a particular permanent resident.
How to move a cabin design with Layouts and Kits
If “change my house” means keeping the furniture arrangement while using another cabin, the relevant feature is Layouts and Kits. Sunblink’s October 8, 2026 announcement states: “Layout and Kits let you share your cabin designs with other players or easily move them from cabin to cabin.”

What a design transfer is useful for
- Reusing a finished cabin arrangement after changing which cabin you claim.
- Sharing a cabin design with another player.
- Moving a cabin design from one cabin to another without rebuilding the arrangement manually.
This can separate two jobs that are easy to confuse. First change cabin ownership with Move Out and a new claim; then apply the saved cabin design if you want the new cabin to resemble the old one. A layout transfer does not itself make the destination your personal residence.
What Layouts and Kits do not establish
- They do not document a way to relocate the Player Home.
- They do not remove the requirement to repair a destination visitor cabin before claiming or swapping it.
- They do not override regional placement rules for permanent residents.
The official announcement confirms the purpose of Layouts and Kits but does not publish a universal button-by-button path in the material available here. Use the Layouts or Kits controls shown by your installed version rather than relying on an old cabin guide that may use different labels.
The announcement also describes sharing designs with other players. That is a design-sharing function, not a transfer of cabin ownership or a way to move a resident. Keep the saved design, occupant, and ownership decisions separate when planning a change.

The table’s “where to begin” column is about the control you use, not a promise that every cabin has every option. Upgrade state determines sign versus plaque, while repair status, ownership, and resident-region rules determine whether the action is available.

“I cannot find Move Out.”
Check the cabin type and upgrade state. An un-upgraded claimed cabin uses the outdoor sign. An upgraded claimed cabin uses the interior room plaque. The command is tied to the claimed player cabin, so looking at an ordinary visitor cabin will not produce the same ownership option.
“The cabin I want is not available to claim.”
The destination must be a repaired visitor cabin. The Make Yourself At Home quest is also part of the documented route for claiming a repaired cabin as your personal residence. If the cabin has not been repaired, there is no documented basis for claiming it as the replacement player cabin.
Repairing a cabin for visitor use and claiming it as your own are related but distinct steps. A cabin may exist on the island without yet qualifying as the destination in the Move Out flow.
Recommended Free Tools
“A visitor disappeared when I claimed the cabin.”
That behavior is expected under the cabin reference: a visitor occupying a repaired cabin is forced to move out when the player claims it. Claiming the cabin changes its role to your personal residence.
“The resident will not move to the cabin I selected.”
Confirm that you repaired more than one visitor cabin and are using the swap interaction. If the resident is permanent, check whether the requested cabin is in the resident’s required region. Regional restrictions can prevent a seemingly valid swap.
“My furniture did not follow me to the new cabin.”
Moving out changes cabin ownership; it is not documented as an automatic furniture-copy operation. Recreate the arrangement or use a saved Layout or Kit to transfer a cabin design where the current game version offers that feature.
“I want to move the Player Home, but these cabin instructions do not work.”
That result is consistent with the systems being separate. The documented sign-and-plaque process is for player cabins, while the October 2026 update describes the Player Home in terms of customization and upgrades. No specific Player Home relocation control is confirmed in the official descriptions available here.
“Do I need to pay to move?”
No fee or currency requirement is stated for the documented player-cabin Move Out process. The confirmed requirements are the appropriate cabin interaction, a repaired destination cabin, and the quest and ownership conditions described above. The Player Home material likewise does not publish a relocation price because it does not document a relocation command.

Version and platform notes
Nintendo’s official listing identifies Hello Kitty Island Adventure for Nintendo Switch and gives January 30, 2025 as the Switch release date. That listing is a digital game listing; it does not by itself verify a physical edition or current retailer stock.
The newer home features are version-sensitive. Sunblink’s Welcome Home announcement is dated October 8, 2026, and the App Store version history identifies Player Home and Character Homes in version 3.0.0. A guide written before that update may use “house” only for a player cabin and therefore omit the Player Home entirely.
Home systems can change in later patches. If your labels differ, prioritize the instructions and prompts shown by the installed version, then consult the latest official update notes. The cabin distinction remains important even when names or menus change: a claimed cabin, a visitor cabin, a saved cabin design, and the Player Home are not interchangeable objects.

Bottom line
To change your personal cabin, use Move Out at the outdoor sign of an un-upgraded cabin or the interior room plaque of an upgraded cabin, then claim another repaired visitor cabin. To move a visitor or permanent resident, use the cabin-swap system after repairing more than one cabin and account for regional restrictions. To preserve a cabin’s look, use Layouts and Kits. For the Player Home introduced on October 8, 2026, customization and upgrades are confirmed, but a specific way to relocate it has not been documented.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I move into a new cabin?
For your claimed player cabin, use the outdoor sign if it is un-upgraded or the interior room plaque if it is upgraded, select Move Out, then claim another repaired visitor cabin. The Make Yourself At Home quest is part of the documented claiming route.
Can I move the new Player Home to another place on the map?
A specific Player Home relocation control is not documented. The October 8, 2026 Welcome Home announcement confirms customization and upgrades, but not a move-house button, map relocation menu, cost, or quest gate.

Will my furniture automatically move when I change player cabins?
Move Out changes cabin ownership; it is not documented as an automatic furniture copy. Use a saved Layout or Kit to transfer a cabin design where that feature is available.
Does claiming a cabin remove the visitor living there?
Yes. The cabin reference says a visitor occupying the repaired cabin is forced to move out when you claim it as your personal cabin.
Do Layouts and Kits move my Player Home?
Sunblink describes Layouts and Kits as ways to share cabin designs or move them from cabin to cabin. That establishes cabin design transfer, not relocation of the separate Player Home.
The Bottom Line
Use Move Out to change a claimed player cabin, cabin swaps to move visitors or residents, and Layouts or Kits to reuse cabin designs. The new Player Home can be customized and upgraded, but its relocation is not documented.
