Set up screenshot email alerts with Visualping

- Choose what counts as a change. Set the alert criteria around the content you care about, then choose how often the page should be checked. Whole-page monitoring is suitable when you want to know about changes anywhere on a page. It can also produce alerts for unrelated updates, so review the criteria and the page’s structure before relying on the notifications.

Monitor a specific region when only one detail matters
Choose a selected element when the target is a particular price, date, announcement, or other section. Focusing the monitor can make alerts more relevant than watching a busy page in full.

Set the interval to match the page
Choose a check frequency based on how quickly the information changes and how soon you need to know. A monitor can only detect a change after a check runs, so the interval affects how quickly an alert may arrive. The vendor documentation asks users to select a checking frequency, but does not establish a universally best interval.
What to check when an alert email is missing
- Confirm that a check ran after the change. An email cannot report a change the monitor has not checked yet.
- Check the monitor’s email-notification setting. Even if email is enabled by default, confirm it is still enabled for this monitor.
- Review workspace mute settings. A workspace-level setting may suppress notifications.
- Look in spam or junk. Mail filtering can divert alerts.
- Review the alert criteria. The observed change may not meet the conditions configured for the monitor.
- Check whether the page rendered as expected. Dynamic content, authentication, or other page behavior can affect what a service sees; the documented features are not a guarantee that every site will render correctly.

A scheduled change monitor repeatedly checks a page, compares it with an earlier version, and sends an alert when its configured criteria are met. A screenshot API captures a page when you request it; by itself, it does not schedule checks, compare versions, or email change alerts. Use the monitor workflow above when you need ongoing detection and before-and-after email notifications. Use an API capture when you need a screenshot as part of your own application or process.
