Use ChangeTower to watch the exact official university or counselling-authority page where admission notices or merit lists appear. Choose content monitoring for broad page changes, or keyword monitoring for a specific phrase; narrow the monitored area if unrelated updates create noise. An alert only signals a detected change—it does not confirm eligibility, allotment, or admission. Open the official portal and follow the full, current notice.
Set up a ChangeTower monitor for the official page
- Find the right URL. Open the university’s or counselling authority’s official admission, notice, or merit-list page and copy its full URL. Prefer the specific page over the institution’s homepage. ChangeTower’s first-monitor guide instructs users to enter the full URL of the page they want to monitor.
- Create a monitor. In ChangeTower, start a new monitor and enter the URL. Select content monitoring if any meaningful text change matters. Select keyword monitoring if you want an alert when a particular phrase appears or disappears. The guide also describes Smart Monitor prompts, selecting page areas, and manual user actions where needed; available behavior can depend on the page and setup.
- Limit irrelevant changes. If menus, banners, or other page content change frequently, use selective monitoring to focus on the relevant section or ignore noisy elements. ChangeTower’s selective-monitoring guide describes selecting page elements and setting a word-change threshold.
- Choose checks and alerts. Set a check frequency available under your current plan and enable email or another available notification destination. ChangeTower says frequency and page limits depend on plan; its FAQ lists the Free plan as starting at three monitored pages. Check the current FAQ and plan details before relying on a particular cadence or monitoring several destinations.
- Let the baseline establish. ChangeTower takes an initial snapshot; an alert arrives only after it detects a change. Its guide puts it plainly: “Your first alert only arrives once the page actually changes, so it’s normal to hear nothing for a while.” No alert yet does not mean a list has been checked or that the page will notify you on a particular schedule.
- Verify every alert on the official portal. Open the university’s page and read the complete current notice, including its date, eligibility criteria, required documents, payment or seat-acceptance steps, reporting instructions, and deadlines.
Choose the monitoring configuration
| Configuration | Useful when | Trade-off or check |
|---|---|---|
| Content monitoring | You want to know about broad meaningful text changes, such as a new notice or a revised list. | Unrelated text changes can also trigger alerts; select a relevant area or adjust the criteria if available. |
| Keyword monitoring | You are watching for a specific phrase, such as a notice heading or programme name, to appear or disappear. | A notice may use different wording, so a narrowly chosen phrase can miss relevant changes. |
| Selective area monitoring | The page has changing menus, banners, or other sections that are not relevant to admissions. | After a redesign, confirm that the selected area still corresponds to the intended content. |
| Separate monitors for separate pages | A notice page and an applicant login, allotment, or result page are distinct destinations. | Each destination may use different access requirements, and plan page limits apply. ChangeTower’s FAQ says page capacity depends on plan. |
Public pages, logins, and pages that need interaction
A public, text-based notice page is usually the simplest place to begin. Some portals require login, JavaScript, a CAPTCHA, or actions before the relevant information appears. ChangeTower lists manual user actions and password-protected-page monitoring among its features, but that does not establish that a specific Indian admissions portal will work with a particular monitor. Test the exact URL, inspect the initial snapshot, and make sure the monitor is tracking the intended content. If the page is inaccessible or the content does not appear in the snapshot, check the portal directly and use any official notification channel available.

A domain scan may help discover pages, but it is not a substitute for selecting the actual admissions destination. ChangeTower’s older whole-website monitoring guide, published March 24, 2023, describes constraints on whole-site monitoring and says excess monitors may be paused under plan limits. Confirm current behavior and limits in the product.
What an admission alert can—and cannot—tell you
ChangeTower detects page changes according to the monitor’s settings. It does not interpret university rules, determine whether an applicant is eligible, confirm a seat, or replace official instructions. Admission rounds, merit-list dates, document verification, payment, and reporting requirements vary by institution and cycle. Treat the alert as a prompt to read the current official notice, not as an admission decision or a deadline reminder guaranteed by the university.
#1 Best Overall
For example, a Maulana Azad National Urdu University notice concerns spot admission for PG merit-based programmes at its Srinagar campus in the 2024–25 cycle. It is a dated, institution-specific example, not a current schedule or a rule for universities across India. Likewise, a 2025 student manual hosted by CollegeAdmission.in describes a process involving seat type, auto-upgradation preference, and payment after allotment. Applicants should follow their own institution’s current instructions rather than generalizing from that example.
Troubleshooting missed or noisy alerts
- No alert after setup: The initial snapshot does not itself mean a change occurred. Check the official page and the monitor’s baseline, then allow for the check frequency configured under your plan.
- Too many alerts: Switch from whole-page content monitoring to a relevant selected area or a suitable keyword, if those options fit the page. Recheck the selection after the site changes its layout.
- A new notice appears on the site but the monitor does not show it: Confirm the monitored URL is the specific notice or merit-list page, not just the homepage. Check whether the content is behind a login or requires interaction and inspect what the monitor can actually access.
- The page requires login or other user actions: ChangeTower documents password-protected monitoring and manual user actions, but compatibility with a particular portal is not established. Test the exact page; if the relevant content is unavailable, check it directly and use official alerts.
- You need to watch multiple destinations: Add separate monitors for distinct pages only within the page capacity of your current plan. A scan for pages across a site has documented constraints, so verify current limits before depending on it.
Or skip the browser setup
If you want a screenshot of a page to inspect or archive, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It is not a ChangeTower replacement: a screenshot does not monitor a page over time or send an admission alert. For a one-off capture, make one GET request with the page URL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.edu/admissions/merit-list -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request parameters and setup. Before a capture, ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents using Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

Does a ChangeTower alert confirm that I have been admitted or allotted a seat?
No. It reports a detected page change; only the institution’s current official notice or applicant portal can confirm the relevant outcome and required actions.
Can I monitor an applicant login page?
ChangeTower documents password-protected-page monitoring and manual user actions, but the supplied documentation does not establish compatibility with a specific Indian admissions portal. Test the exact page and verify that the monitor can see the relevant content.
