To monitor Tesco delivery slots, check the live slot picker in your Tesco Groceries basket or booking flow, and check your Tesco account or the Grocery & Clubcard app again if the time you want is unavailable. Tesco does not publish a universal slot-release time or document automatic alerts for newly opened slots, so there is no reliable release hour to wait for.
Check availability in your Tesco account
- Sign in to Tesco Groceries. Use the account and delivery address for the shop or order you want to manage; availability shown to you can depend on the account, address and time of checking.
- If you are still building your shop, open your basket and select “Change your slot.” Review the slots currently shown in the booking flow.
- If you have already checked out, open “My orders” and choose the order’s change option. In the app, use “Make changes” and then “Change delivery slot.” Follow the flow through to “Update order and check out” to confirm the amendment.
Tesco documents these booking and change routes in its delivery-slot help page. A slot displayed in the picker is subject to availability; it is not a promise that another, preferred time will appear.

What to do when no suitable slot is showing
Look at the next week when the option is available
If the slot picker has a tab for the next week, check it as well as the current choices. Tesco specifically advises customers with priority access to check the next-week tab and, if no slot is free, check again the following day. That advice is for the priority-access group; it does not establish a universal release schedule or checking interval for all customers.
Recheck the live picker rather than waiting for an alert
Tesco’s reviewed help pages and official app listing explain how to book or change a slot, but do not document automatic notifications when a new slot opens. Check the website or app directly. You can use either surface if convenient; there is no established evidence that one shows newly available slots earlier than the other.

Book or amend promptly once a suitable time appears
When a suitable option is visible, complete the booking or order-change process. This is practical advice for using a live availability system, not a guarantee that Tesco reserves a slot for you before checkout.
Monitoring an order that already has a slot
If a better time appears after you have booked, use the order’s change flow rather than starting a duplicate order. Tesco says changes are ordinarily allowed until 11:45pm on the night before delivery. Selected stores may allow same-day changes until 1pm. Check the confirmation email for the applicable details for your order, then complete the change and confirm it with “Update order and check out.”

Ordinary booking and priority access
| Route | Who it applies to | What to check | What it does not promise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordinary account booking | Customers booking through their Tesco account | The live slot picker for the relevant delivery address; check the next-week tab if shown. | A particular time or a same-day slot. |
| Priority access | Customers Tesco has identified as eligible and given access instructions | Follow the emailed instructions, select priority slots, check the next-week tab and try again the next day if none is free. Tesco says the priority-access setup can take up to two working days after registration is confirmed. | A guaranteed slot. Tesco says it will try to prioritise eligible customers, but availability still applies. |
Tesco’s priority-access guide describes a window of up to three weeks for eligible users; do not assume that window is available to every account. The guide’s process is not a general method for joining the priority-access group.

No. Delivery Saver is a paid plan intended to reduce delivery or collection costs, and its value depends on its current terms and how often you order. Tesco says slots remain subject to availability, including for members; some plans include priority access to Christmas and Easter slots, but that does not guarantee a slot. Compare the current plan cost and benefits with your expected orders rather than buying it solely to secure a newly opened time. See Tesco’s Delivery Saver FAQ for current terms.

Seasonal slots and changing dates
For Christmas or Easter, check Tesco’s current announcement and the booking page in your own account. Tesco’s 2026 Christmas announcement says slot dates and latest delivery dates vary by location, and slots are subject to availability. Priority access for a seasonal period is not a guarantee of a preferred time.
Why not use a slot-monitoring bot?
The official guidance supports checking Tesco’s own booking flow and app; it does not establish that third-party scripts or bots are safe or authorized. Avoid giving your Tesco login credentials to a third party. A straightforward approach is to revisit the live picker and complete the booking or amendment when a suitable option is displayed.
