If a product page protected by Cloudflare asks you to verify that you are human, do not keep retrying an automated price check. First look for the retailer’s own price alert, official API, or product feed. Use a third-party tracker only when the retailer permits it; if there is no authorized route, check manually at a reasonable interval or contact the retailer.
Why a price checker may trigger a Cloudflare check
Price collection is a form of automated data collection that a website may restrict. Cloudflare explicitly lists price scraping and competitive-intelligence gathering as Data Collection behavior in its Verified bots documentation. A challenge can therefore reflect the site’s deliberate controls, rather than a temporary fault that should be worked around.

Cloudflare describes several bot-detection approaches: heuristics, optional JavaScript detections, and machine learning on Business and Enterprise plans. Its machine-learning engine assigns a Bot Score from 1 to 99, and available detection engines depend on the site’s plan. These details help explain why a generic checker may be challenged, but they do not reveal the configuration of any particular retailer. Cloudflare’s bot detection engines documentation

- Check the retailer’s own options. Look on the product page, in your account, and in the retailer’s help pages for a price alert, official API, or product feed. Their availability varies by retailer.
- Verify third-party tracker permission. Before connecting a tracker, confirm that the retailer allows its access. Check the retailer’s terms and published crawl rules; do not assume that a tracker’s ability to load a page means its use is authorized.
- Keep permitted checks limited. Monitor only the products you need and use an infrequent schedule consistent with the retailer’s rules.
- Stop when access is challenged or blocked. If the retailer has not provided an approved alternative, do not automate retries or try to evade the check. Check manually at a reasonable interval or ask the retailer about an authorized alert or feed.
This approach follows Cloudflare’s stated criteria for verified bots: they identify themselves honestly, obey robots.txt and crawl directives, maintain reasonable request rates, and respect site-owner preferences. Those criteria do not grant a particular bot access or prove that a retailer has authorized a price-monitoring service. Cloudflare Verified bots

What Cloudflare’s bot alerts do—and do not—monitor
Cloudflare’s Bot Detection Alerts are for eligible site operators monitoring abnormal bot traffic to their websites. They are not shopper-facing product-price alerts. The cited documentation limits the feature to Enterprise customers and describes a six-hour baseline with a five-minute observation window. A basic alert triggers when the Z-score exceeds 3.5 and bot requests exceed 200 per five minutes with a bot score below 30. These are traffic-alert conditions, not a general bot-detection threshold or a price-change measure. Cloudflare Bot Detection Alerts

Troubleshoot a blocked or unsuccessful capture
- The retailer asks you to verify you are human: Treat it as a signal to stop automated retries unless the retailer provides an approved route. A screenshot service is not authorization to bypass a challenge.
- You cannot find a price alert, API, or feed: Check the retailer’s account and help pages or contact its support team. If no permitted automated option is available, use manual checks.
- A tracker claims it supports a protected page: Confirm permission with the retailer and check that the tracker follows published crawl directives and identifies itself honestly. Compatibility alone does not establish permission.
- You are a site operator investigating bot traffic: Cloudflare’s Bot Detection Alerts address traffic spikes for eligible Enterprise customers; they do not track retail prices for shoppers.
