What you need to monitor
For each product, keep the page URL and record the conditions that can affect its displayed offer. Indian ecommerce pages may render prices with JavaScript, so a static HTML fetch can miss what a browser displays. - Capture timestamp and requested URL.
- Viewport and device scale, if configured.
- Locale and browser state, including cookies or account status where relevant.
- Selected product variant, delivery location or option, coupon, and other offer eligibility conditions.

A saved image documents only the rendering under the recorded conditions. It does not establish that the offer applies to another account, location, delivery option, variant, or shopper.
Capture a page with Browserless

- Choose the product URL and define a repeatable capture context, including viewport, locale, browser state, and selected offer options.
- Call Browserless
/screenshotwith the URL and suitable screenshot options. PNG is the documented default; the API also supports other formats. - For a long page, enable full-page capture when useful. For a focused record, capture the price element or a clip around it where the documented options allow.
- Wait for the page content to appear before capture. If the relevant section loads on scroll, use the documented scroll-before-capture approach and combine it with full-page capture as appropriate.
- Save the returned image with a timestamp and stable product identifier. Keep the requested URL and capture context alongside it.

Compare captures without mistaking page noise for a price change
Compare only valid captures
Check that the new image shows the expected product and price region, and that the page has finished loading. Browserless identifies blank or white screenshots, CAPTCHA pages, access-denied or 403 pages, and missing elements as possible signs of blocking or capture failure. Use visual differences as a signal, not a verdict
Compare each valid image with the previous valid capture. A visual diff can direct attention to changed regions, but layout shifts, banners, personalization, and loading artifacts can all produce differences unrelated to price.

Pair images with extracted values
For useful alerts, extract the visible price, currency, availability, and promotion text as structured fields, then verify the extracted price against the rendered price region. Retain the image as review evidence. The extraction and screenshot should use the same capture context; otherwise, they may represent different page states. iTechGuides practical workflow
Schedule, store, and alert responsibly
Run captures on a schedule appropriate to how often the offer matters, and retain a history that lets you compare a new valid result with the last valid result. An alert should identify the product, capture time, prior and current extracted values, currency, and a link or reference to the corresponding images. If a capture fails validation or the extracted value is missing or inconsistent with the rendered region, route it for review rather than sending a price-change alert.

Keep the monitoring context consistent where possible. If you intentionally change a delivery location, variant, account state, or viewport, record that change as a separate context rather than attributing the resulting difference to a universal price change. Screenshots show a rendered offer, not proof that every shopper received it.
Legal and access checks for Indian marketplaces
Browserless documents technical capability; it does not grant permission to access a marketplace. The available evidence does not establish the current scraping permissions or API provisions for Amazon India, Flipkart, or other named marketplaces. For regulatory context, a Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution release dated 10 September 2026 says the amended Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 are to come into force on 1 January 2027, and that where a price reduction is announced, both the reduced and prior price are to be displayed. This is a prospective rule change as described in that release, not a complete legal analysis of automated third-party monitoring. Check the operative rules and marketplace terms. No. It records a rendering under the selected capture conditions, which may include a particular account, location, variant, or delivery option.
Can Browserless capture a page that builds its price with JavaScript?
