Start with the Government of India’s exam-results gateway to identify the relevant authority, then monitor that authority’s public results or notifications page. Treat every alert as a prompt to check the official page—not proof that a particular candidate’s result is available. Some candidate-specific result services require a login and security pin that a public-page monitor cannot access.
Find the correct official page
- Identify the exam authority and the relevant exam year. The Government of India results gateway describes itself as a single point for results from central and state boards, universities, councils, and agencies. Use it as a directory, then follow through to the authority’s own website.
- Locate the public page that publishes the result announcement or related notices. The CBSE Exam Results page, for example, displays announcements with dates. The right target depends on the exam and year.
- Confirm that the page is still current before adding it to a monitor. Portal addresses and page structures can change. The Staff Selection Commission results page directs visitors to its new portal for applications, notifications, results, and important updates, illustrating why old bookmarks can become stale.
What a page-change monitor can—and cannot—tell you
A webpage-change monitor periodically checks a page, compares it with a saved version, and can alert you when it detects a configured change. As Mallawaarachchi and co-authors explain in their 2019 survey, “Change Detection and Notification (CDN) systems were introduced to automate this monitoring process and notify users when changes occur on webpages.” Detection means the page changed; it does not establish what changed or whether an exam result has been officially announced.

A change may be a result notice, but it may also be a date, layout, navigation, or unrelated page update. Open the official URL and inspect the changed content. Verify any result against the exam authority’s own announcement before sharing it or making decisions.

- Choose a public announcement page. Prefer the authority’s results or notifications page that is likely to publish the update. If a candidate result is behind a login, monitor public notices separately and check the candidate service directly.
- Limit the monitored area when possible. If the monitor supports selecting text or a page region, choose the part relevant to the announcement. A whole-page watch can flag unrelated changes; a narrow selection may miss an announcement placed elsewhere.
- Choose a checking schedule and notification method. Set a schedule appropriate to the expected announcement window, and choose an alert channel you will notice. Available schedules, thresholds, scopes, and notification types vary by service; a 2019 survey describes these as general capabilities, not guarantees about any current provider.
- Check the baseline. Compare the monitor’s saved version with the current official page so you know what it is watching. If the baseline is outdated or the wrong page, correct the target before relying on alerts.
- Verify every alert at the source. Open the authority’s official page, read the changed text and its date, and look for the exam-specific announcement. Do not treat an alert, screenshot, or third-party notification as confirmation of an individual result.
- Revisit the target over time. If the authority announces a portal migration or changes its page structure, verify the destination and update the monitor. The SSC results page’s notice about its newer portal is one reason to recheck saved targets.
When results are behind a candidate login
A public-page watcher generally cannot see content that requires a candidate’s credentials. NTA’s Result Services form asks users to select an exam and provide an application number, password, and case-sensitive security pin. In that situation, monitor the authority’s public notices page for an announcement, then use the official candidate service yourself to check the result.

Do not give an untrusted monitoring service your application number, password, or other account credentials. A notice that results are available and a candidate’s authenticated score are different things; verify the latter through the official login route.
Choosing a monitoring service
The available evidence establishes general monitoring approaches, not current feature, pricing, privacy, or reliability claims for named monitoring vendors. The 2019 survey distinguishes browser extensions, which run client-side, from server-side polling services, and discusses text or visual comparison and email or SMS alerts. Its vendor feature table is historical, not a current product comparison.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can capture a page as an image or PDF; a screenshot is useful for inspecting what a public announcement page looks like, but it is not by itself a page-change alert or proof of a result. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for the API. Example cURL request:

Common problems and what to check
- You get an alert, but no result is visible. The monitor detected a page change, which could be unrelated to the result. Open the official page and inspect the changed content and dated announcement.
- The monitor sees no change, but an announcement is reported elsewhere. Check that the target is the authority’s current results or notices page, that the relevant content is public, and that a page or region selection is not too narrow. Then check the official page directly.
- The target suddenly stops being useful. The authority may have moved to a new portal or changed its page structure. Follow the official notice, verify the new destination, and update the watch rather than relying on an old bookmark.
- The individual result is inaccessible to the monitor. If it requires credentials or a security pin, use the official candidate login yourself; a public-page watch is suited to public announcements, not authenticated score retrieval.
- Frequent alerts are hard to interpret. A whole-page watch can detect unrelated layout or content changes. If supported, narrow the scope to relevant text or a region, and inspect the change history before acting.
