You can monitor a bank’s public website without signing in by adding its verified public page to a webpage change-monitoring service, choosing the whole page or a specific region, and setting a check schedule and alert. Never give the monitor your banking password, OTP, or account details. A change alert reports a difference; it does not tell you whether that change is legitimate or whether the site is safe.
Set up monitoring on a public bank page
- Find the bank’s current official address. Start from a current notice or a trusted bookmark, then navigate to the public page you want to track, such as a rates, branch, service-status, or notice page. Confirm the final address after any redirect. An old bookmark may no longer be authoritative.
- Copy the final public URL into a monitoring service. Do not sign into internet banking through the monitor. This workflow needs only a public page.
- Choose what to watch. Monitor the whole page when any visible change matters. If the page has changing menus, banners, or other routine updates, select the specific text or region containing the information you need, if the service supports it.
- Set the check schedule and sensitivity. Choose a frequency appropriate to how quickly the information matters. If there is a change threshold or sensitivity setting, use it to reduce alerts caused by minor layout changes; a higher threshold may also miss small changes.
- Choose an alert route and review notifications carefully. Check whether the service sends alerts by email or another channel, and whether alert delivery follows a different schedule from page checks. When an alert arrives, open the bank’s verified address directly instead of following an unexpected message link.
Webpage monitors periodically fetch or render a page, compare its current state with an earlier state, and notify you when a configured difference is detected. They can compare different representations, such as page content, selected regions, images, or documents. A monitor may miss a change that is absent from the representation it checks, and routine layout changes can trigger false alarms. No monitor should be treated as a perfect detector.

Verify the bank domain before adding a page
India’s .bank.in initiative makes checking the address especially important when setting up a monitor. In its February 7, 2025 policy statement, the Reserve Bank of India said the initiative aimed to reduce threats including phishing and enhance trust in digital banking. RBI named IDRBT as the exclusive registrar and said registrations were planned to commence from April 2025. Read RBI’s statement.
Individual banks have published migration information, but their addresses should not be generalized to other banks. Indian Bank reported in a filing dated October 31, 2025, that its website moved from www.indianbank.in to www.indianbank.bank.in, and said RBI had advised commercial banks to complete migration no later than that date. See Indian Bank’s filing. IDFC FIRST Bank’s own migration page describes its move from idfcfirstbank.com to idfcfirst.bank.in and asks customers to replace old bookmarks. Check the bank’s migration guidance.

These examples establish those banks’ reported changes, not the current address of every Indian bank or whether every legacy URL has stopped working. Verify your own bank’s current public URL using its own notice or another trusted official channel before monitoring it.
Choosing a monitoring tool
Compare tools on the details that affect your page and alert workflow:
Rank #2
- Notification when a website of your choice changes
- Visual difference of all modifications to a website detected (diff)
- Choose exactly which part or parts of a page to watch
- Check pages even behind logins, HTTP Authentications, form posts or long navigational sequences
- What can be monitored: a whole page, selected text or region, images, or documents.
- Rendering support: whether the service can handle a page whose relevant content appears only after scripts run.
- Frequency and sensitivity: how often checks run, whether you can set a change threshold, and whether the alert schedule is separate.
- Notifications and history: which alert channels are available and whether you can inspect a comparison or change history.
- Where checks run: whether monitoring uses a hosted service or a browser-based tool, and what setup or availability limits apply.
These are common dimensions of webpage change-monitoring systems; current product features and plan limits vary and should be checked with the provider. Visualping, for example, describes website change detection and alerts on its product page and discusses monitoring pages with and without login in its blog. Those are the vendor’s descriptions, not independent validation.
Keep the workflow safe
- Monitor only pages accessible without signing in. Never provide a monitoring service with your banking password, OTP, account number, or other private banking information for this task.
- Investigate an alert by entering the bank’s verified address yourself or using a known, current bookmark. Do not trust an unexpected alert link just because a monitor sent it.
- Treat the alert as a prompt to check the page, not as proof of fraud, authenticity, malware, or site integrity. Government of India website-security guidance discusses phishing and compromised or modified pages; a change monitor does not establish whether a change is authorized. Read the security guidance.
Troubleshooting common monitoring problems
The monitor reports a change every time
Routine dynamic elements, rotating notices, or layout shifts may be changing between checks. If available, narrow monitoring to the specific content region, adjust the sensitivity threshold, or choose a different page representation. Confirm on the bank’s official page whether the underlying information actually changed.
Rank #3
- Used Book in Good Condition
The monitor misses an important update
The relevant content may not appear in the representation the service checks, or it may load dynamically. Check whether the tool supports rendered pages and the relevant content type, and whether the selected region is correct. A page-change monitor cannot guarantee that every kind of change will be detected.
The saved URL redirects or looks unfamiliar
Do not assume an older bookmarked address is still the right one. Visit the bank through a trusted official channel, confirm its current domain and final public URL, then update the monitor. One bank’s migration does not establish another bank’s address.

An alert includes a link or claims the site is unsafe
Do not use an unexpected link to log in. Open the verified public address directly and assess the page there. A change notification identifies a difference according to the monitor’s settings; it does not authenticate the bank or diagnose a compromise.

For a screenshot-based check of a public bank page, ScreenshotNeo offers a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return an image or PDF; it can help inspect how a public page appears, but a screenshot request by itself is not a scheduled change-monitoring alert.
