Short answer: Fluxguard has a documented workflow for monitoring pages behind a login: configure the sign-in actions, run a fresh crawl, and verify that the result shows the signed-in page. Versionista’s public materials say new monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard while existing Versionista accounts remain supported, but they do not establish that Versionista offers the same login automation. If you have an existing Versionista account, confirm support for your specific workflow before relying on it.
What Versionista documents about login-protected pages
Versionista’s homepage says new web-change-monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard and existing Versionista accounts remain supported. That transition statement does not establish that the products have identical features. The explicit public instructions for monitoring a password-protected page are in Fluxguard’s login-monitoring guide, not the Versionista material reviewed here. Existing Versionista customers should ask their account or vendor support whether their plan and workflow support target-site authentication rather than assume Fluxguard’s steps apply.

Versionista’s API documentation describes API-key access to Versionista and an endpoint for adding a URL to monitor. It does not describe using that API key to sign in to a protected target website. These are separate credentials and purposes.
Set up a standard username-and-password login in Fluxguard
The workflow below applies to a conventional web form. Use it only for sites you own or are authorized to access; Fluxguard’s login guide limits use to those sites.
#1 Best Overall
- ONGOING PROTECTION Download instantly & install protection for 5 PCs, Macs, iOS or Android devices in minutes!
- TOP-PERFORMING VPN Faster speeds, more server locations, and greater connection control to protect your privacy across all your devices, including Smart TVs.
- ADVANCED SCAM PROTECTION Help spot hidden scams online. With the built-in Genie AI assistant, you’ll never wonder if a message or email is suspicious again.
- REAL-TIME PROTECTION Advanced security protects against existing and emerging malware threats, including ransomware and viruses, and it won’t slow down your device performance.
- DARK WEB MONITORING Identity thieves can buy or sell your information on websites and forums. We search the dark web and notify you should your information be found.
- Add the login URL. Create a Fluxguard site/session for the address where the target site’s login takes place.
- Run an initial crawl of the login page. Fluxguard says this creates a pre-login capture with a screenshot, DOM, and text, and makes its visual selector available.
- Configure the form actions. Open the login page’s Page View and add actions for the username field, password field, and submit control. The guide describes using CSS selectors to identify controls and entering the username and password values.
- Add a wait if the site needs one. Set a wait after submitting if the destination takes time to load. Fluxguard gives 6,000 milliseconds (six seconds) as an example for a slow form; it is not a universal recommendation. Choose a delay that fits the site and verify the result.
- Save and rerun the session crawl. Inspect the resulting screenshot and page data. A capture that shows the login form again is not evidence that protected content is being monitored.
- Add protected pages after login. Put each page that requires authentication later in the same session, after the sign-in actions. Fluxguard says session state, including cookies and local storage, carries between pages.
For the product’s step-by-step interface guidance, use the Fluxguard password-protected-page tutorial. Its general monitoring tutorial describes sessions as ordered sequences of actions and explains the multi-page monitoring context.
Handle HTTP Basic Authentication separately
A browser-native Basic Authentication prompt is not a web form with username, password, and submit controls. Fluxguard’s tutorial says to enter the authentication details in Session Settings under the Crawl tab. After configuring it, run a crawl and check the captured page to confirm that access succeeded.

Make alerts useful after authentication works
First establish that the crawler consistently reaches the intended signed-in page; then tune what counts as a meaningful change. Versionista’s public guidance describes filtering page areas and monitoring additions or deletions of specified phrases on HTML and plain-text pages. Its email-alert guide describes configurable summary email frequency and page-level instant alerts. These Versionista materials describe filtering and alert concepts, but do not demonstrate that legacy Versionista supports Fluxguard’s login automation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Choose a signal that matches the page: broad visual or text changes may be noisy on dynamic pages, while a focused area or phrase can better reflect the information you care about.
- Use filters to reduce unrelated changes. See Versionista’s focus-phrase and filter tutorial.
- Choose summary or page-level alerting to fit how quickly you need to respond. See the Versionista email-alert tutorial.
Troubleshoot failed or misleading captures
The capture shows the login page
Check that the username, password, and submit actions point to the correct controls, are ordered correctly, and are saved. If the site redirects slowly, adjust the post-submit wait and rerun the crawl. Verify the screenshot and page data after each change; do not treat a successful crawl operation as proof of a successful login.

- Used Book in Good Condition
The first protected page works but later pages do not
Confirm that the pages requiring authentication come after the login actions in the same session. Fluxguard says cookies and local storage persist across pages in a session. If the site’s own behavior ends or restricts a session, review the sequence and verify each page capture.
A browser authentication prompt is not being handled
If the target uses Basic Authentication rather than a page form, configure it through Session Settings under Crawl as described in Fluxguard’s login guide. Do not try to substitute a Versionista API key: that key authenticates API requests to Versionista, and the API documentation does not describe it as a target-site credential.

- THREAT DETECTION – Stay one step ahead. Suspicious links, risky sites, viruses, and scams, caught automatically before they reach you.
- PERSONAL INFO PROTECTION – Keep your personal info safer. Identity monitoring watches for your exposed info and tells you what to do about it.
- SECURE CONNECTIONS – Just a few easy clicks, and we'll automatically protect your info on public Wi‑Fi, every time you connect.
- GUIDED ACTION – Know what matters and what to do next. Clear alerts and simple guidance make it easy to take action.
- MORE THAN ANTIVIRUS – Scam protection, identity monitoring, VPN, web protection, and antivirus work together to protect you, all in one place.
The page loads inconsistently after submit
Use a post-submit wait appropriate to the site, then rerun and inspect the resulting capture. Six seconds is only Fluxguard’s example for a slow-loading form, not a guaranteed fix. If the signed-in view still cannot be verified, do not rely on its change alerts.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot of a publicly accessible page rather than a recurring authenticated monitoring session, ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot or PDF through one GET request. This is a screenshot API, not a replacement for the login-session monitoring workflow above.
Example using cURL (replace the target URL as needed):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. It also offers an MCP server so AI agents can take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Versionista monitor a password-protected page?
Versionista’s public materials reviewed do not establish that it supports the login automation documented by Fluxguard. Existing Versionista customers should confirm support for their account and target site with the vendor.
Can I use a Versionista API key to log in to the target site?
No such use is documented. The API key authenticates requests to Versionista; target-site credentials are a separate matter.
