Deleting the streaming app does not cancel a paid subscription. The steps differ by biller, and Paramount+ procedures should not be assumed to match Max’s.
Find out who bills your subscription
For Max/HBO Max, open the service’s subscription page or, in the app, open your profile or settings and choose Subscription. The billing provider should be listed there. The wording and branding may vary by app or page version.

If you cannot find the biller, check the account you used when subscribing and look for the charge on your bank or card statement. Your internet, mobile, or TV provider may also be able to confirm whether it bills you. If an Apple or Google Play subscription is missing from the account you checked, try the Apple ID or Google account used to make the purchase.
Max separates its cancellation instructions by billing provider. If the service shows a third-party biller rather than cancellation controls, manage the subscription through that provider’s account or contact its support team. See Max’s guide to managing a subscription.

How to cancel Max or HBO Max through each biller
Max’s official instructions cover the routes below. Menu names can change; if a label differs, look in the relevant account’s subscriptions or billing settings.
Apple
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
- Tap your account name, then Subscriptions.
- Select Max/HBO Max and choose the cancellation option.
If the subscription is not listed, check that you are signed in with the Apple ID used to subscribe.

Google Play
- Open the Play Store and tap the profile icon.
- Choose Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Select Max/HBO Max and cancel.
Check that the Play Store is using the Google account that made the purchase.

Roku
- Sign in to Roku’s subscriptions page.
- Find the active Max/HBO Max subscription and choose Manage subscription.
- Turn off auto-renew and look for Roku’s cancellation email.
TV, internet, or mobile provider
Use the provider’s website or help center, or contact its customer support. When that provider bills the subscription, its account controls—not the streaming app—handle cancellation.

What happens after you cancel Max?
Max says subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled and recommends cancelling before the next billing date to avoid another charge. After cancellation, access continues through the end of the current paid billing period; it does not necessarily end immediately. Keep the confirmation and check the stated expiration or end date. Do not assume cancellation means an immediate refund: refund policies vary by billing provider. Max’s instructions are in “How do I cancel Max?”
Deleting the app is not a substitute for cancelling through the biller. Max’s warning is direct: “Deleting the Max app does not cancel your subscription.”

How to manage Paramount+ subscriptions
Start by checking which company bills the account, then open the current Paramount+ Help Center Account & Billing guidance and follow the instructions for that biller. The available official guidance here does not establish detailed cancellation menus for Paramount+ subscriptions billed through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or a TV provider. Use the live instructions in your platform or provider account rather than assuming Max’s menu sequence applies.

A Paramount+ subscription made through the iPhone or iPad app is separate from a subscription to the Paramount+ Apple TV Channel. Paramount+ says that “to access either you would need a separate subscription for each.” If you are switching from the app subscription to the Apple TV Channel, cancel the existing app subscription before starting the channel subscription so you do not end up paying for both. This distinction appears in Paramount+’s Apple device and Apple TV Channel guidance, dated September 9, 2025.
