The fastest way to make room in ARC Raiders is to consolidate stacks before deleting anything, then keep only items tied to an active quest, a workshop or crafting objective, or a loadout you actually plan to take topside. Recycle selectively when you are overloaded, clear duplicates after every run, and treat Expedition-related capacity as a separate decision from ordinary stash management.
That approach prevents the two costliest mistakes: throwing away materials that a current goal needs and assuming every extra storage source survives an Expedition departure. The menus, rewards and capacity figures can change with updates, so verify the live in-game description before spending currency or resetting progression.

A practical inventory routine
Use the following order whenever your stash or backpack is approaching its limit. It preserves the most useful items while recovering space with the least risk.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Consolidate partial stacks. Use the stash’s grouping or stack-combining control first. PC Gamer reports that this combines partial stacks of items such as ammunition and consumables, which can free occupied slots without discarding anything useful. See PC Gamer’s inventory guide.
- Mark a purpose for each reserve. Keep items for an active quest, an imminent workshop or crafting objective, or a loadout you expect to use. A reserve with no identifiable purpose is a candidate for review, not an automatic keep.
- Recycle only after checking current uses. Field recycling is available from the inventory’s Crafting tab. The official Help Center says, “Field Recycling lets you break down items instantly.” That is useful when you are overloaded topside, but an item that looks common may still be needed by a recipe or quest.
- Remove duplicates and idle stock. Compare duplicate weapons, armor and consumables, then inspect common materials and craftables that were saved without an active reason. Keep equipment for the builds you really use rather than every possible variant.
- Review reserves after milestones. Once a quest, upgrade or recipe is complete, reassess the materials saved for it. A goal-based reserve should shrink when the goal is finished.
This is a management method, not an official quota system. Current quests, unlocked recipes, workshop state and patch changes determine whether a particular item is valuable.

What the inventory and stash are for
Your inventory is the working space used while preparing for and completing a raid. It is where you can open the Crafting tab and use field recycling. The stash is the longer-term storage area that holds equipment, materials and consumables between runs. Treating the stash as an archive for every item eventually makes it impossible to see what is actually ready for your next loadout.
Separate storage sources may not behave alike. A capacity increase purchased with currency, space obtained through a rotating trade, an Expedition reward and furniture storage in the Outpost can have different persistence rules. Before moving an item, determine whether that location is intended for permanent storage, a temporary bonus or a specialized reserve.
Step-by-step: clear a full stash without losing useful loot
1. Consolidate before sorting individual items
Open the stash and run the grouping action that combines compatible partial stacks. Do this before selling, recycling or moving anything. A stack of ammunition occupying two slots instead of one is a space problem, not a loot problem. Consolidation is also a quick way to reveal how much room you really need.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute2. Build a short-term “next objectives” list
Look at quests that are currently active, workshop upgrades you can complete soon and recipes you have unlocked. Write down the materials or equipment those goals require, or keep the relevant objective screen open while sorting. Items on that list stay in the stash even if they are not immediately useful in a raid.
3. Protect the loadouts you actually play
Keep a practical set of weapons, armor, ammunition and consumables for the play styles you use. If you routinely run a stealth-oriented kit, there is little value in occupying several slots with alternate equipment that never leaves storage. Conversely, do not delete your only replacement weapon merely because it is not equipped today.

4. Check an item’s current use before field recycling
From the inventory, open the Crafting tab and inspect the field-recycling option. Recycling is a good emergency action when you are topside with no room for a valuable pickup. It is a poor substitute for checking requirements: once an item is broken down, recovering the original item may not be possible. The official instructions are in Embark’s Field crafting Help Center article, last updated October 27, 2025.
5. Remove obvious surplus
After stacking and protecting objective items, inspect duplicate gear, excess ammunition for weapons you do not use and common materials saved without a current recipe. Process one category at a time so you can stop as soon as enough slots are available. Do not use a blanket rule such as “sell every common material”; requirements change with progression.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →6. Recheck after the objective is complete
When an upgrade is installed or a quest is turned in, revisit the reserve created for it. Materials that were essential yesterday may now be ordinary surplus. This recurring review is more reliable than trying to predict every future recipe.
How to decide what to keep
There is no authoritative, permanent “always keep” list for every material in ARC Raiders. Community lists are opinions, and the correct amount depends on your current progression and the latest patch. Use a decision test for each item instead.
Keep it when one of these is true
- An active quest explicitly requires it.
- A workshop upgrade or unlocked recipe you intend to complete soon uses it.
- It belongs to a loadout you regularly deploy, including a reasonable replacement or recovery set.
- It is difficult or slow to replace and you have enough room to hold it without displacing a current objective.
Review it when none of those is true
- You have several identical equipment pieces and only use one configuration.
- Ammunition or consumables are accumulated for weapons you no longer carry.
- A material was saved for an upgrade that is already finished.
- A craftable has no unlocked recipe, active quest or planned use.
A player-maintained guide recommends changing stored quantities as goals change; treat those quantities as community advice rather than game rules. The guide is available at Arc Raiders Hub’s stash-management guide.

Recycling, selling and deleting: choose the least risky action
Field recycling is the clearest documented way to convert an item into components while away from your stash. It is especially valuable when a high-value pickup is competing for the last open slot. Use it after checking the item’s current crafting and quest uses.
Recommended Free Tools
For ordinary stash cleanup, first consolidate, then decide whether the item should remain as equipment, become a component through recycling, or leave storage through the game’s selling or discard action. The available information does not establish a universal sell price or a complete item-by-item priority list, so avoid treating one player’s “keep” threshold as an official rule.
When unsure, keep one practical copy and remove only obvious duplicates. That compromise preserves a fallback loadout while stopping storage from filling with identical gear.
Ways to expand storage
Current guides describe four broad routes. They differ in permanence, requirements and whether an Expedition departure affects the space. Check the live menus because rotating offers and update-sensitive systems can change.
| Route | How it is obtained | Persistence and cautions | What is established now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard stash upgrades | Purchase capacity with in-game coins. | Intended as the ordinary stash progression; current prices and every intermediate tier are not stated in the available current references. | A community stash reference reports a 64-slot starting stash. It also says older cost information became stale after the Cred currency was removed. |
| Nomadic Envoy trade | Use the rotating Nomadic Envoy offer when extra space appears. | The offer rotates. The secondary guide describes the resulting space as temporary across an Expedition departure, so inspect the current trade and departure text before relying on it. | Availability and exact terms are update-sensitive. |
| Expedition-linked bonus | Earn a reward by choosing to depart on an Expedition. | Departure can reset associated progression and inventory, but earned permanent bonuses are retained even if you later choose not to depart again. | Embark’s February 5, 2026 article lists a permanent reward range of 12 to 24 stash spaces and warns that future requirements and rewards may change. |
| Outpost furniture | Progress the Outpost and place storage furniture such as weapon racks, shelves, tables and cabinets. | Functions as separate storage according to the secondary guide. Exact counts and capacity can change, so confirm them in the live Outpost interface. | The guide reports that crafting materials and Scrappy’s food stored there are automatically available when needed. |
Standard upgrades and the capacity numbers you can rely on
The Arc Raiders Community Wiki’s current stash page reports 64 standard slots at the starting point and a reported post-Frozen Trail maximum of 328 slots. The page says that maximum excludes Expedition and Nomadic Envoy bonuses, and it notes that some current tier details are unpublished. These are community-reference figures, not independently verified official totals; use the live upgrade screen as the final authority. See the community stash reference, accessed October 13, 2026.

Do not use old cost tables copied from earlier versions. The same reference explains that Cred was removed, making older prices stale, while current intermediate costs are not published on that page. If a guide gives a precise price without identifying the current currency and version, treat it as historical.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Expeditions: permanent rewards versus a reset decision
An Expedition is not simply another stash-upgrade button. It is a progression choice that can affect what you carry and what you have unlocked. Embark’s article “Preparing for your second Expedition,” dated February 5, 2026, states: “Permanent bonuses that have been earned on previous expeditions will be retained by Raiders even if they choose to not depart again.” The article lists 12→24 stash spaces as a permanent reward range associated with continuing Expeditions. Read the current departure screen because the team warns that future Expedition requirements and rewards may change: Embark’s Expedition rewards and requirements article.
Before departing, separate three questions:
- What will be reset or consumed? Read the current departure warning for inventory, progression and any temporary storage.
- Which capacity is permanent? Confirm that the specific bonus is described as permanent rather than tied to the current Expedition cycle.
- Is the extra capacity worth the timing? If you still need your current workshop, quests or loadouts, finish or document those goals before accepting a reset.
Do not depart solely because your stash is full. First consolidate, recycle safely and clear duplicates. Use Expedition capacity as a long-term progression decision, not as an emergency cleanup button.
Outpost storage: useful, but verify the live interface
AllThings. How describes Outpost furniture as a separate storage system and names weapon racks, shelves, tables and cabinets as examples. It also reports that crafting materials and Scrappy’s food placed there are automatically available when needed. Because furniture counts, slots and interactions are update-sensitive secondary-source details, open the current Outpost placement and storage screens to confirm exactly what each object accepts before moving a rare item. The guide is at AllThings. How’s extra-stash-space guide, accessed October 13, 2026.
A practical arrangement is to reserve one furniture category for equipment and another for materials or food, then keep the main stash focused on raid-ready kits and near-term objectives. This reduces visual clutter even when the total number of spaces has not changed.

Fixes for common full-stash situations
Every slot contains partial stacks
Run the grouping action before touching individual items. If space remains tight, check whether ammunition and consumables are split across multiple stacks, then remove only the surplus associated with weapons you do not use.
The stash is full of weapons
Sort by equipment type and compare duplicates. Keep the configurations you deploy and a sensible replacement set; move eligible items to Outpost furniture if the current interface supports that category. Avoid deleting your only backup weapon while trying to make room for a single pickup.
You are overloaded topside
Open the inventory’s Crafting tab and inspect field recycling for low-risk items. Before breaking anything down, check active quests and recipes. If no safe candidate exists, extract rather than sacrificing an item you cannot replace.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
You saved materials for a finished upgrade
Confirm that the upgrade completed, then review every material reserved for it. Recycle or otherwise remove only the excess that has no other active use.
A guide’s storage price does not match your game
Trust the current in-game currency and upgrade screen. The community reference specifically warns that older Cred prices are stale, and the available sources do not establish current prices for every tier.
You are considering an Expedition only for space
Read the current departure requirements and reset warning. Permanent bonuses remain according to Embark’s February 2026 statement, but temporary space and other associated progress may not. Clean the stash first and make the Expedition decision on its full progression consequences.
A repeatable post-raid checklist
- Run stash grouping to combine partial stacks.
- Move quest, workshop and near-term recipe materials into a clearly identifiable reserve.
- Prepare only the loadouts you genuinely expect to deploy.
- Remove duplicate gear and idle ammunition after checking replacement needs.
- Use field recycling for verified low-risk items when overloaded.
- Place suitable categories in Outpost furniture storage after confirming the live interface.
- After each completed quest or upgrade, release the reserve that no longer has a purpose.
- Review Expedition and rotating-trade descriptions before counting their capacity as permanent.
Following that sequence turns stash management into a short routine instead of a crisis at the extraction screen. The key distinction is between space you have earned permanently, space offered temporarily, and space you can recover immediately by consolidating and removing items with no current purpose.
