To earn “I’m the Bird Now” in How to Fish, make your boat airborne. The simplest method reported by guides is to unlock the boat, reach the second island for Dynamite, place one charge beneath the floating hull, move clear, and let it detonate. The launch can vary with the game’s physics, so treat it as a community-reported method—not a guaranteed trigger.
What the achievement requires
Guides describe the condition as making the boat fly. They do not establish a required height, airtime duration, or particular launch method, and the sources available do not include an official achievement listing or developer documentation. Watch for the achievement notification after the boat leaves the water.

Use Dynamite for the simplest reported attempt
- Unlock the boat. Guides say it becomes available after progressing through the lighthouse sequence and defeating the Spider Crab boss. NerdsChalk and Destructoid describe this progression.
- Reach the second island and get Dynamite. Guides identify the second island as where Dynamite becomes available. They do not reliably establish its current price or exact shop placement, so check the in-game options rather than relying on a quoted cost.
- Position the boat in open water. Keep the hull floating, then place or throw one charge directly beneath it. A community guide cautions that a charge placed beside the boat may push it sideways instead of lifting it. How-to-Fish.games gives this placement tip.
- Move away and let the charge detonate. The reported method relies on the blast launching the boat. Keep your character clear of the explosion in-game.
- Check for the notification. If the boat becomes airborne but the achievement does not trigger, reposition and try again; the guides do not define a precise height or duration threshold.
Alternative: use speed and a ramp
If the explosive launch does not lift the boat enough, guides describe an alternative: buy the fastest engine, build speed, and drive toward a wave, slope, or raised shoreline edge as a ramp. This route is reported as more difficult than using Dynamite because it depends on your approach and the terrain.

If the achievement does not trigger
- The boat moves sideways: Place the charge beneath the hull rather than off to one side.
- The blast does not lift it enough: Reposition and retry; the reported guides caution that game physics can vary. You can also try the faster-engine ramp approach.
- You cannot try the Dynamite method yet: Continue the lighthouse progression and defeat the Spider Crab boss to unlock the boat, then reach the second island where guides report Dynamite is available.
