That update specifically fixes Steam Frame scores not appearing correctly on leaderboards and also prevents the end-of-song score summary from stalling when the network connection drops.
Then finish a song while online, wait for the complete score summary, and check SELF + COMBINED. If that view is empty, treat the problem as an upload or connectivity failure rather than a filter problem: verify the headset and game are online, make sure the game’s leaderboard service is allowed through your router, and inspect ErrorLog.txt in the game installation folder.

What to do first
- Install Synth Riders version 3.6.7a2 or a later build that includes the same fix. The developer’s 14 October 2026 update explicitly addresses Steam Frame leaderboard display problems.
- Play and finish the song while connected to the internet. Stay on the results screen until the score summary has loaded completely.
- Open the leaderboard and choose SELF, then COMBINED. This is the quickest way to find your best score without modifier filtering.
- If no entry appears, investigate the connection. The developer identifies interrupted connectivity as a cause of failed online submission. Check the game’s online access through your router and review
ErrorLog.txt. - Confirm the result outside the game if needed. The SynthRiderz community offline leaderboards read the game’s leaderboard API and are described by the developer as near real time and generally accurate.
A local personal-best number is not proof that the online leaderboard accepted the run. Synth Riders can update local statistics while the network submission remains old or fails.
Display problem or submission problem?
There are two different failures that look almost identical in the headset:

This distinction prevents a common mistake: replaying a song repeatedly when the score is already stored online but hidden by the selected view.
Update Synth Riders before testing anything else
The Steam Frame-specific fix is in Synth Riders 3.6.7a2, dated 14 October 2026. The patch addresses scores that did not show correctly on Steam Frame leaderboards. It also fixes a related results-screen failure in which the score summary could stall after the network connection dropped.
How to verify the build
Use the update mechanism for the Steam installation and confirm that the installed version is at least 3.6.7a2 before running a test song. If an even newer version is available, install that instead. The important point is that the test must not be performed on an older Steam Frame build known to have the leaderboard display bug.

A current network connection cannot correct a client-side display defect. Testing filters, replaying songs, or changing router settings while running an affected build can make a fixed score appear to be a continuing upload problem. Updating removes that known software issue from the diagnosis.
Finish a run in a way that gives the online service a chance to save it
Start the test with the headset and Steam installation online. Complete the song normally and remain on the result screen long enough for the score summary to appear. Do not treat the immediate personal-best message as confirmation that the online entry was accepted; the local statistic and the online leaderboard are separate pieces of evidence.

What counts as a useful test run
- The game is connected before the song starts.
- The song reaches its normal completion and result screen.
- The score summary finishes loading instead of remaining stalled.
- You have not intentionally switched the connection off at the end of the song.
- You check the leaderboard after the result screen, rather than relying only on the personal-best display.
If the connection drops during or immediately after the song, the game can retain the personal-best information while failing to submit a new online entry. In that case, a second run made with a stable connection is a meaningful test; a second run made under the same interruption is not.
Use the leaderboard controls correctly
The developer documents three main board views and two filters. The view determines whose entries you see; the filter determines whether modifier combinations are considered.

The correct first lookup: SELF + COMBINED
Select SELF and COMBINED together. That combination asks the game to show your own highest score for the song, regardless of which modifiers were active when you earned it. If the score appears there, the leaderboard submission worked; the earlier “missing” result was a display-state issue.
Why MODIFIERS can show “NO SCORE SET”
A SELF/MODIFIERS board can display “NO SCORE SET” even when you have a valid score. That message means the currently selected modifiers do not match the modifiers used for the stored run. For example, a score earned with one modifier set will not populate a board currently filtered to a different set. Switch to SELF + COMBINED to check whether the score exists before concluding that it was lost.
When GLOBAL is the wrong diagnostic view
GLOBAL contains every player’s score and is useful for ranking, but it is not the cleanest test of whether your own run arrived. A dense global list, a different page of results, or a modifier-specific selection can obscure the answer. Confirm the entry in SELF first, then use GLOBAL to see its position among all players.

If SELF + COMBINED is still empty
An empty SELF + COMBINED result after a completed online run points to submission or connectivity rather than a modifier mismatch. The developer’s support guidance identifies interrupted connectivity as a reason a score may not be saved to the online leaderboard.
Check the headset and game connection
- Confirm the Steam Frame headset has an active internet connection before launching or replaying the song.
- Make sure the game remains online through the end of the song and while the result summary loads.
- Repeat one short test run only after the connection is stable.
- Return to SELF + COMBINED and check the same song again.
A local score that changes while SELF + COMBINED remains unchanged is consistent with a failed upload. It does not establish that the online service rejected the score for gameplay reasons.
Allow the leaderboard service through the router
The developer specifically advises checking that the game’s leaderboard service is allowed through the router. Review the router’s access-control, firewall, filtering, or parental-control rules for blocked game traffic. Do not invent port numbers or disable the entire router firewall as a blind fix; the documented action is to ensure the game’s service is permitted.
If the headset works online in other applications but Synth Riders cannot submit, router rules can still be the difference: a general internet connection does not guarantee that every game service is reachable.
Inspect ErrorLog.txt
Look for ErrorLog.txt in the Synth Riders game installation folder. The developer identifies that file as a place to investigate when connectivity prevents leaderboard saving. Preserve the log from the failed attempt so the timing of the error can be compared with the song completion and result-screen behavior.

The log is more useful when paired with a precise reproduction: note the song, approximate completion time, whether the score summary stalled, and whether SELF + COMBINED was empty afterward. Avoid deleting the file before checking it, because that removes the record of the failed request.

The developer describes that data as near real time and generally accurate. It is therefore a useful cross-check after you have made a run and checked the in-game board.
How to interpret the comparison

This comparison is confirmation, not a replacement for the game’s own controls. The external service is useful because it provides a second view of the same API data, while the in-game SELF + COMBINED view remains the primary diagnostic.
Steam Frame ownership and what it does—and does not—change
The official Steam listing describes Synth Riders as a VR rhythm game in which players catch notes, ride rails, and dodge obstacles. It lists the game as playable on PC VR and Steam Frame, and states that owners of the PC VR version receive Steam Frame access at no additional cost. The listing also says that DLC is cross-buy within the Steam storefront, so owned content carries over.

They do not change how leaderboard submission works, and they do not make a controller, accessory, or new DLC purchase a required fix for a missing score.
PC VR play requires motion controllers according to the listing, but controller hardware is not identified as the cause of a Steam Frame leaderboard entry failing to appear. Troubleshoot the software version, board state, and network path before replacing hardware.
A decision path for common cases
Case 1: “My personal best is there, but GLOBAL is not”
Go to SELF + COMBINED. If the score appears, it was submitted and the issue is the way GLOBAL is being viewed—such as a different page, sort position, or modifier state. Check the board controls before playing again.
Case 2: “SELF/MODIFIERS says NO SCORE SET”
Switch to COMBINED while staying in SELF. The selected modifiers do not match the run, so MODIFIERS is correctly excluding it. Return to MODIFIERS only when the selected configuration is the one you want to inspect.

Case 3: “SELF + COMBINED is empty, but the score summary showed a new best”
Confirm that the installation is on version 3.6.7a2 or newer, then make one controlled run while online. If the entry still does not appear, check router permission for the leaderboard service and inspect ErrorLog.txt. This pattern is consistent with local statistics updating while online submission fails.
Case 4: “The result screen hangs after a disconnect”
Update first. Version 3.6.7a2 includes a fix for the score summary stalling when the network connection drops. After updating, repeat the test with a stable connection and wait for the summary to finish.
Case 5: “The game board is empty, but SynthRiderz shows the run”
Treat the external entry as evidence that the API received the score. Recheck the in-game view, especially SELF versus GLOBAL and COMBINED versus MODIFIERS, and allow time for the in-game display to refresh. The external service is described as near real time, so a short delay remains possible.
What not to assume
- A local personal best is not an online receipt. It proves the game recorded a local statistic, not that the leaderboard request completed.
- “NO SCORE SET” is not always a failed run. Under MODIFIERS, it can simply mean that the selected modifiers differ from those used.
- GLOBAL is not the best first test. SELF + COMBINED isolates your own highest entry and avoids modifier filtering.
- Buying hardware or DLC is not a leaderboard remedy. The platform listing’s controller and cross-buy information does not identify either as a submission requirement.
- Cloud-save behavior is not established as a universal fix. There is no authoritative universal rule for where standalone Steam Frame local score files are stored or how cloud synchronization handles them across builds. Treat that behavior as platform- and build-dependent rather than moving or deleting files blindly.
If the documented version, filter, network, router, and log checks do not resolve the problem, use current developer support rather than assuming that a local file operation will repair an online leaderboard entry.

Final verification checklist
- Synth Riders is running on version 3.6.7a2, dated 14 October 2026, or a later build containing the fix.
- The headset and game are online before the song begins.
- The song reaches the result screen and the score summary finishes.
- The board is set to SELF.
- The filter is set to COMBINED.
