You can reorder and loop a playlist in YouTube’s own player, but that is different from putting a sequence of videos into a Streamlabs Desktop broadcast. The Streamlabs documentation available here does not establish that the app can load a YouTube playlist URL or automatically play multiple local files in a chosen order. Use YouTube’s playlist controls for playback on YouTube; for videos embedded in a Streamlabs stream, verify the behavior in your installed version before relying on it.
First, decide where the videos should play
“Play a playlist on YouTube” can mean two different things:

- YouTube playlist playback: viewers watch videos through YouTube’s playlist player. You arrange and loop the playlist using YouTube controls.
- A sequence inside your live broadcast: Streamlabs Desktop sends video from sources in a scene to YouTube as part of the stream. That is not the same as playing a YouTube playlist in YouTube’s player.
The documented YouTube workflow below covers ordering and looping a YouTube playlist. Streamlabs’ official guides describe sources and its viewer-requested Media Share widget, but do not document a YouTube playlist URL source or automatic ordered playback of multiple local video files. - Open the playlist in YouTube, or manage it in YouTube Studio.
- On desktop, open the playlist and drag a video up or down to change its position.
- Play the playlist and check that videos appear in the intended order.
YouTube notes that reordering is unavailable for playlists made up only of Shorts. Its playlist help page also describes an arrangement choice when creating a playlist: Create and manage playlists.

Loop the playlist in YouTube’s player
- Start a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel in the player.
- Click the loop control in the playlist box.
This repeats the playlist using YouTube’s player. It is not a Streamlabs Desktop source setting. See YouTube’s instructions for repeating videos or playlists.
What Streamlabs Desktop documents—and what it does not
Streamlabs’ getting-started guide explains adding capture sources and widgets to a scene. Its Media Share guide describes a widget through which viewers can request videos when sending a tip; that is not evidence of a fixed, creator-defined sequence. Streamlabs’ older media-caching article discusses media files such as MP4, GIF, and MP3 acting as sources and describes looping media, but it does not establish automatic sequencing across multiple files. Because the cited documentation does not verify ordered multi-file playback, there is no reliable, documented set of Streamlabs menu steps to provide for that feature. Check the media-source properties in your installed build and consult version-specific Streamlabs documentation or support before scheduling a stream around sequential local files. The exact current version and platform behavior are not established here.
Check video and music rights before going live
You are responsible for having the rights needed for both the live stream and its archive. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions require rights for live content, including applicable music licensing rights. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content; detected material can lead to a warning, interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, a rights holder may need to allowlist your channel for the stream to proceed without interruption. Review YouTube’s copyright rules for live streams and obtain any necessary permissions before broadcasting.
